Don't mean to be a pain in the butt, but can't get the stream to connect?
I have the latest version of real player & also have braodband, but the thing just sits there say Connecting...

That's it, help?

Which version of Real Player are you using? Version 2.0 (this is what I have installed), or the new Beta 10 version? If you are using the Beta version, there may be a bug or something. Another listener had a problem the other day, but he came up with a solution. This is what he wrote:

First, just to clarify, I'm using
RealPlayer v10 (ten) which is actually the very latest version
being offered by RealNetworks.

Not sure if that's what's causing the problem or not, but
somehow I suspect that's not it (since nobody else has
complained about it, and I'm SURE I'm not the only one
using the latest version of RealPlayer...)

Anyways, I found a (stop-gap) solution... But at least I
can drink my beer in peace now :) While googling for some
sort of hint or explanation of the problem I've been having,
I searched "can't play .ra files" and I came across this page:

You do not have permission to view link Log in or register now.

Looking at your links, which are in the rtsp://......ra
format, I thought "hmmmmm!"

So I created a text file called test.ram on my local machine
with just the following line in it:

pnm://ra.casinomeister.com/xcasinomeister/19february2004.ra

And then I opened up my browser and typed in the address bar:

c:\test.ram

Voila! RealPlayer pops up as expected and starts to load the stream!

I haven't a clue why this was necessary (particularly since the
old way used to work just fine for me in the past), but perhaps
this information might give you some clue as to what my problem is :)
At any rate, you can store this in your "webcast" folder for future
reference should someone else have the same problem some day...

Cheers to a great webcast!

If this is the case, give it a shot. If you are using 2.0 or lower, you shouldn't have a problem since this is what I use and it loads up fine. Either way. I'll check out what's up.

Yep, Version 10 was the problem.

I installed this version and had the same problem, but then I figured out what was up. Looks like I'll need to create separate ram files for all of the webcasts.

There are about 70 of them.

Anyway...sit back, relax and listen to this...

Old URL

:D

Yep that works now, thank :)

Why on earth fix something that isn't broken, maybe I should write a " Pitch A Bitch " about Version 10 Real Player, and you Mr CasinoMeister could write them a letter, to see wtf RP was think & wft they were somking to come up with such a lame idea as this for V10 RP
