So just over 6 weeks ago, i'd been losing too much, so i self exclude on the two main sites i had been playing at. Casumo, and 21 casino....

Thinking was, bit of a break, won't hurt. after the 6 weeks, i log back into 21 casino.. have a bet, no problem.

Go over to Casumo, and its still locked. speak to chat help...

Explain i had hit a button to self exlude for 6 weeks. he says the account is closed, and cannot be reopened for 6 months, due to UK gambling laws..... !!! ??!?

I explain, i hit a button that said 6 weeks.

he says i should know the law more.. ?!?"??

anyone know what the hells going on there? :eek2:

I've taken 6 week breaks at Casumo in the past, without any problem.

In fact the last time I did it, I accidentally found out that it wasn't a strict break.
A few weeks into the TAB, I tried to log in, forgetting I was on a break, and I got a pop up saying something like 'your account is inactive, would you like to reactivate your account?', with 'yes' and 'no' buttons.

Clicking on 'yes' logged me straight in, cutting the break short :eek::eek:

When I saw the title of this thread I thought you were going to say "I won there" :D

I've had almost the opposite experience there. Impossible to win no matter what I played. As a low roller I'd had deposited over £1400 since October and withdrew a measly £300 odd.

Every time I selected take a break for say a day or a week. It wouldn't work, I was simply prompted with a notification saying something like "Account locked, Log in anyway", I don't remember exacty what it read but I was able to just reopen it so I had to close it for 6 months as I was simply losing far too much there, worse than anywhere.

Anyway I found that Casumo were NOT acting very responsible (Despite their duty to be) with their responsible gaming "Play Okay" settings.

As a UK player you have two different options to choose from which you will find described in the Play Okay settings and in even more detail in the Read more section.

Should you want to take a pause from playing, for any reason that is not related to responsible gambling, you can choose to go for a short break for up to 6 weeks. During this time your account is locked and you will not receive any promotional send outs. Once the break is up your account will reopen. Now, should you want to cut the break short and return early you can and this is what you are seeing with the info pop up when trying to log in that has been referred to in this thread.

Should you want to close your account for a responsible gambling reason, you should instead choose a self exclusion. This is a minimum of 6 months, during which time you will not be able to return. Once the exclusion is up, you need to reach out to our Ambassadors via our live chat and request it to be reopened with a cool off.

I hope this answers your questions.

Dear casumo rep

Exactly..

I clicked the 6 WEEKS button. Same as 21casino.

The account closed for 6 months. Your staff wont open it

What's the point of a 6-week break if the player can simply ask to reopen an account after 7 or 14 days?

As far as I know, the UKGC doesn't differentiate between TAB and SE time-outs in their mechanism, but merely the time period categories, i.e. less than 6 months can be a TAB and SE is imposed for 6 months plus but in both cases the player cannot play during them. There is no way the rules are intended to work as in this example, that the player can reopen during TAB. If they were, then they would surely be pointless?

The only difference is that the casino has or should have to have a cool-off after a SE ends and the player wants to play again, whereas TAB can just expire automatically.

Then again we know how the UKGC's 'Swiss Cheese' rules are often worded so it's quite possible the casino's can take the piss like with the TAB affair last Easter 2016.
