As someone who flits around the net looking for good places to play I usually find myself on a Microgaming site and have thus got more than one account with different Casino Rewards casinos.

I noticed recently that I had accumulated a few VIP points on my accounts and tried to cash them in for more play. However, a message popped up telling me that because of abuse the points were not currently available. After speaking to someone in Live Chat I was told that if I deposited and played I would be able to redeem them.

So I did deposit, lost my money and then tried to redeem them. Still I was refused. After going back to Live Chat I was told that I need to "continue" depositing and playing. All this for 20.

Now I don't want to be a pedant but the 'Loyalty Programme' on Golden Tiger Casino says the following;-

When you play at Golden Tiger Casino you'll be awarded VIP loyalty points. Every 100 points is worth a dollar in chips. There are also numerous promotions which earn you VIP points. Just like frequent flyer points, the VIP loyalty program rewards players for their loyalty. The more you play the more rewards you get and since they're your points we put you in control of them. You can go to the CasinoRewards site and check your account at any time. Other casinos make you wait until they're ready to give you credit. We let you do it at any time. As long as you've got 1000 points in your account you can withdraw when you want to. And even better yet all transactions are done in Real Time!

The highlighting of the red section of that quote is mine but it does seem to sit uneasily with their policy of locking up the VIP points and not allowing you to redeem them. I was told there are "terms and conditions" which need to be met. In all honesty I can't say I've ever seen a casino where the use of your Comp Points (which are an after-wager bonus after all) is so tightly bound by terms and conditions, or even bound at all come to that!?

I could get mad but for the sake of about twenty quid the easiest thing to do is to go another Casino where Comp Points are Comp Points.

I am though quite disappointed in Casino Rewards and feel they should look again at their marketing promises.

If I've posted this on the wrong part of the site then please accept my apologies and feel free to move it to the relevant forum.

If you can excuse the sorry practice of replying to your own post, could I also point out that I never play anything except Slots online! And I think I've only ever made one (small-ish) withdrawal from CR.

Have you accumulated 1000 points? AFAIK, 1000 points - minimum sum to redeem..

Do you have much history at any one of their casinos? Or have you mostly just done bonuses or deposit with welcome bonus so far?

Why not ask support to explain the situation more clearly and tell you exactly why you can't redeem them now and exactly what you have to do before you can redeem them.'

I play at Blackjack Ballroom all the time and never have a lick of trouble here. Casino Rewards is one of my favorite groups to play.

I too play at Casino Rewards, and like them. I have never had a problem redeeming my points either. I also know that they automatically give you accts to the various casinos that u are eligable for when you sign up. So yes, I would ck further into the problems and ask specifically why you cant redeem them. I do it thru the casino I wish to use when I redeem them.

They just send me $50 in points. Didn't win off it though.

I can cash the points in at any of the casinos I'm registered at or through the casino. Although I only have Casino Classics installed now. The others I deleted a long time ago.

Kinda hard to win on their casinos I find.

Casino Rewards is one of those groups that while trustworthy and relatively quick payers (excluding the 48 hour pending withdrawal) but they can and do enforce their t & cs. One example is about having to have made a deposit without a bonus before you can claim another - this is of course mainly for those players who would otherwise go to every casino, claim the signup bonus and move on. In a way, it's pretty good that they allow you to claim bonuses at all their casinos, but when they 'hide' terms like this, it can be easy to miss them and suffer misfortune later on.

This is why they are quite fond of bonus banning - perhaps this is what has happened in your case?

I too have this same problem. I have 7000 points that i can claim.
When i got the same message you did, i contacted support and was told the same thing but i kept questioning about it because it sounded fishy.

I said i wasn't just going to keep depositing just so i could maybe unlock the points without knowing how much i needed to deposit as i might have to deposit thousands.

I was then told it wouldn't be thousands and so the most i could get out of them is that it was under $1000 for sure and he thought much less than that but that's all he knew....ya right!

I manly played at blackjackballroom but had a few other accounts linked with casinorewards before they added the new casinos to the group.

This problem only happened after not playing with any of them for a few months and then getting emails saying i had $10 free in my account and naturally i tried to claim them and i was denied.

Before that, i had no problem claiming my points earned from my deposits playing on slots and now if i deposit and play i am not allowed to claim what i earned by wagering my own funds.

Since then i have made a few deposits and it still says the same thing.
I don't play there that often anymore and if i do i am not holding my breathe to see if i have hit that golden deposit that will unlock my comp points.

Even if i did manage to unlock them, then what....
Then they might send me out more free comps and my account locks up again.
More often than not, if i want to play and not be able to earn comp points i will choose Ladbrokes, at least they pay me within 6 hours.

P.S I have never been labeled a bonus abuser and when i first got that message i was so pissed as i felt like they were insinuating i was one.

Casinos can do what they like, it is after all their business.

However IMHO if they accept a deposit & the player deposited for a bonus then they have to honour it.

What really urks me is that casino's expect players to be honourable but some of them don't follow suit.

If a player is not eligible to redeem loyalty points then say so. Leading a player to believe a false claim is BS. Regardless of who the casino is!

Cheers

CASINO REWARDS IS THE WORSE-DID SAME TO ME

When I started playing 4 years ago they did this same thing to me.

I told them before I started playing that I did not want deposit bonuses. They gave them to me anyway in my Loyalty account. I asked them to remove them they said they could not.

So when I went ahead and redeemed them to get rid of them so that from that point on I would only be earning comp points in my Loyalty Account; they locked all of my accounts and labeled me a "bonus abuser".

How can a player that says they don't want the initial deposit bonus, only the comp points, be called a bonus abuser? Mind you, I purposely Lost the bonus amounts to get rid of them.

This Casino Group is the most unethical Group out there and I advise players to stay away from. They don't deserve our play!!:p

What I ran into with them is that they sent emails offering deposit bonuses, but after I deposited I found out I could not claim the bonus.

I've always received my points no problem and even some retention chips however, I decided to stop playing there as it seems it's almost impossible to win lately.

My experience has been the same, either you are a VIP or a "scumbag". They also operate a bait & switch policy - I fell victim to this when I first joined (only a month or so after I "found" online casinos). I deposited for the SUB at Lucky Emperor, and lost. I was then sent a PERSONAL invite from within the casino rewards group itself to redeem both a mystery comp bonus, AND to join Yukon Gold casino with the hint of "special priviliges". I took up the offer, and WON at Yukon Gold. I withdrew 50, as this would be my first withdrawal from the group, and I wanted to make sure they actually paid before REALLY comitting myself to some more deposits. They paid the 50.
I left the bulk in my account to play some more, around 400, and decided to redeem my points. This is when I foudn them locked for "bonus abuse". This was more like player abuse to me, as I did not seek out to open accounts, I was INVITED to take another SUB - this is what I believe is "bait & switch".
I worked the 400 up to 800 and withdrew in stages, and despite all this extra play, way beyond WR, and clearly showing me to be a player, not a bonus hunter, they did not unlock the points. Not only could CS not explain why this had happend, it seems they also felt it apropriate to be very rude to me because of this "status" within their system, treating me like $h1t, and not a "customer".
I uninstalled the casinos and shot off a complaint to Kahnawake. They actually replied, so I tried to redeem the points much later (over a month), and found my points no longer locked.

For 3 years almost, I played mainly at Casino Action, which was much like Casino Rewards, and then Casino Rewards bought two Casino Action casinos, presumably including the player base. Suddenly, almost overnight, I became VIP at Casino Rewards. Now, they do their best to treat me well, and behave as though they have changed for the better, but then yet another story like this comes along to show they are just the same.

The term about making deposits between bonuses was not there when I joined, and I know because I read the terms of each casino before I played. The only term of note then was the ban on "autoplay" for meeting WR, and so I steered well clear of this. I did play some BJ, but at stakes of around 10, so cannot be accused of "grinding", and BJ only made up part of my play.

Even if you deposit between bonuses, they still have the "F U Clause", and they could still lock the points. Unlike then, CR now also occasionally confiscate winnings for this "bonus abuse" BS.

Double comp points

Hi Solar,
You should be careful, with a lot of the casinos and their comp points (some are pure clip joints), I like the Boss media sites:

If you are after easy comp points go to casino-for-me which offers double comp points which automatically become cash once 100 points are reached - no nasty t&cs either.

I've had casino rewards on my blacklist since 2007.

Too many mis-deeds and questionable acts for me.

I do find them to be a bit of a trojan horse.

What I ran into with them is that they sent emails offering deposit bonuses, but after I deposited I found out I could not claim the bonus.

Hi soflat,
I found out that they actually put points into your loyalty rewards points rather than actually give a dollar amount bonus. they consider that the bonus.:p

A lot of the Microgaming Casino groups that have several casinos under their umbrella, will often limit you to only one sign-up bonus from the entire group of casinos they operate. Or, they have stricter rules you have to comply to before being eligible for a sign-up bonus in a 2nd casino in a group.

For example, Belle Rock has the following rule:

The Casino is a member of the Belle Rock Entertainment ("BRE") group of online Casinos (the "Group"). At any point in time the Group may offer Sign-Up Bonuses at any or all of its member Casinos. Once you have received a Sign-Up Bonus at any of the Groups member Casinos, you are required that to meet additional minimum Play Through Requirements before you are eligible for additional Sign-Up Bonuses at any of the other member Casinos. You may thus not claim or receive a Sign-Up Bonus at this Casino if you have previously claimed or received a Sign-Up Bonus from another Group member Casino and have not yet wagered such previously claimed or received Sign-Up Bonus and its associated initial deposit at least 100 times at the Group member Casino that granted you such Sign-Up Bonus.

You may not receive a sign-up bonus at a second Belle Rock casino until you've wagered the Deposit AND Bonus of the original sign-up bonus 100x.

When you look at rules like this that some of the other MGS groups have, Casino Rewards limits might be in the same playing field. I assume they're also trying to prevent people from just claiming deposit bonuses as new players would get, and move across their umpteen online casinos depositing to get the welcome bonus and moving on. That's what they refer to as bonus abusers. And all casinos try to implement rules to control that.

The only part I don't like about the way Casino Rewards seems to handle this, is that they don't have specific amounts that need to be wagered or deposited before being able to redeem points from an additional sign-up bonus.

At least Belle Rock specifally tells you what needs to be played, 100x deposit plus bonus, before a 2nd welcome bonus can be claimed. It would be nice if Rewards had a specific wagering amount also. At least then you'd know what had to be done before being able to redeem further sign-up bonuses.
