I will have a 22-hour layover in Newark, New Jersey. I do not wish to bring my normal blackjack bankroll through airports. Would Atlantic City casinos cash a money order for play in their casinos?

Yes. Just know that its a 2 and a half hour ride to ac from newark if theres no traffic.

Yes, I know that there is a 2 1/2 hour drive between them. Better than sitting in an airport for a whole day!

Traveler's checks make more sense. Thanks!

From personal experience.... traveler's checks and/or money orders are a royal PITA. We used to take traveler's checks on our trips to Tunica because we didn't want to travel with cash. Be prepared with all your ID's and to give a thumbprint on each one. Then the cashier will phone the money order people to verify each and every one. IF the casino will even cash them. Seems crooks love to use fake traveler's checks and money orders at casinos, therefore, legit people have one hell of a time using them. Perhaps a debit card you can load up (like the Wally World Bluebird - no fees) and then get your cash at an ATM in the casino?

I guess I'll just have to call the casino to see if they cash traveler's checks. If they have to go through all the checking then so be it.

I did thought about using the ATM but in my experience, the maximum allowed ATM withdrawal that I have seen is $500. But I don't know if ATMs in casinos have bigger withdrawals or not. I'm talking like $3,000 to $5,000 bankroll.

The atms in casinos do not have a limit, unless your card has a daily cash limit..

If your just going to go to play slots check out empire city or resort world casino, there both in New york and much closer to newark then to atlantic city.

For travellers checks you will not have a problem in atlantic city, ive cashed them before, just have your ID. The amex ones are good.
