First off let me say I am a problem gambler. I am working with this problem and making some progress. As a solution I contacted every online casino I could find by email informing them of my problem. I gave them all my info and asked them under no circumstances to let me open an account. Bwin was the only one that would not comply. And yes of course I "fell off the wagon" and opened an account with Bwin. The next day I immediately closed my account and requested that bwin should return my deposit. I feel that I acted responsible by sending them the original email. If they truly support responsible gambling like they claim, they should have never let me open an account in the first place. Perhaps knowing I had a problem they wanted me to open an account. Anyways I am getting no where with bwin customer support on this matter and was wondering if anyone knows where I can turn now? Thanks.

If you played and lost your deposit, then you are not entitled to a refund.

Bwin may have made an error in allowing you to create an account (although I'm not sure they can stop you creating an account when you didn't have one previously), but you deposited the money and I assume you would not have had a sudden attack of conscience and returned $10,000 if you won it with said deposit....so it works both ways.

The fact that you can arrive at the kind of reasoning that convinces you that you're entitled to your money back tells me that you most certainly do have a serious problem, and that you should forget about pointing the finger at the casinos and take responsibility for your own actions. Until you realise it is your problem and the responsibility is 100% yours, you will never recover.....going around blaming operators for letting you sign up is just the compulsive gambler's way of washing their hands of ownership of their illness.

Forget about casinos, and get to a Gamblers Anonymous meeting ASAP and ask Bryan to close your account here. You have nothing to gain by reading about how much everyone "wins"...the ones that seem to "win" all the time are almost always the biggest losers of all.

Now is your chance. You are at the crossroads. Which road will you take?

(FWIW...it is not personal...the same can be said for all compulsive gamblers. I wish you the very best)

Nifty is 100% correct in his assessment.

There could have been a number of circumstances relating to why you were allowed to open an account:

1. You did not previously have an account; or

2. The Casino cannot open an account on your behalf to ban you on the system or

3. The was no way to detect our details UNTIL after you had registered (People are not monitoring EVERY sign up to check for excluded persons)

I can't see you receiving a refund - If you won, you would have cashed out. I think the easiest way is to engage the Support staff and ask them to block an account as you register it. That way you can't open a new account or tell them you have a problem then go there and register anyways.

In any event, its difficult for the Operators. You can change your name / address slightly and blame a typo and the system may realise there is no conflict and allow your account So its kinda up to you bud...
