If you guys want to piss me off - well you just did it. You have turned the forum into a circus - and I not only don't appreciate that, but it damages the worthiness of this forum to newbies, visitors, and casino reps.

Yesterday I shut down the Bonanza thread since I had a load of "Report a Posts" to wade through concerning that thread, plus there was nothing being discussed about that game. The thread had spiraled into a juvenile hissy fit on what one can or can't say here: tw%$ or c*&%!!!

Really! WTF! You senior members should know better than this. This is why we have the Attic to post such nonsense. And yeah, I get it, bantering is good - but after several pages of that and the complaints that ensued, it was 100% derailed and yeah, I did not have the time yesterday to pick through the thread and move those posts.

All it would have taken is a PM to me asking if I could reopen the thread, and I would have done that today after cleaning it up. Now I have a load of more work to do because of some inconsiderate members who have turned this place into their private playground.

You see Bryan, this is the exact problem the Bonanza Thread effort tried to highlight.

Why is suddenly everything taken so serious at CM? The operation was done at a quiet time when not many members/visitors and most certainly even less casino reps were online to avoid chocking the forum at peak hours.

Instead of seeing this with a humorous eye which this operation meant to be, it becomes yet another "Who do you think you are?" thing like it has been seen numerous times in the last few months. Well, I for one am nothing more than a human being and have not more standing in your forum then any other member but I am just one of many who are worried that the forum is taking a turn for the worse when it comes to chatting/bantering/humouring etc in the threads which leads to people, often longstanding members, posting increasingly less because they are worried they might get reported/warned/banned for the most common things/words/expressions.

But then equally, I for one am also fed up with almost each and every topic being derailed with one sentence responses by the resident "comedians" or responses containing just moving images, emoticons etc.

When you want to read topics, some of which are quite interesting and serious, then it is frustrating to having to skip the totally non relevant stuff.

For me, the balance needs to be right.

According to Dunover this issue only came about because of people reporting trivial stuff on the thread otherwise I guess Bryan would never have read the thread to notice the posts otherwise.

Which for me is the issue, trivial reporting that is what is causing the seriousness on here. People who are wasting Admins time should be blocked from reporting.

Bonanza is a tense thread at times with us all tilting, to have odd day we chat off topic is that really should a bad thing. Given the people chatting on it are the ones posting every day anyway so some misfit sitting waiting to report posts is just trying to spoil the fun.

Sure, balance is needed. But most threads go off-topic and return again, it has always been like that since I joined CM. Was never a big issue until lately.

So why the sudden change?

So why the sudden change?

Because it is almost every topic.... even the Videoslots one....

The posting of many Bonanza threads and folk participating in them was no orchestrated event as far as I am aware so I am unsure why the mafia comment?

Once it was obvious to me why Harry was posting them I got on board and encouraged others to try to get the threads in order, which I thought was a fun thing to achieve. I just think that there should be some consistency where folk can be confident that their posts will be met with some degree of fairness as apposed to it depending on who you are

I get both sides of the story here:

The bickering and petty reporting of trivial issues is one thing - Unless a member is being personally attacked, I don't see a need to burden Bryan with 20 reports a day all because goatwack used the Tw@t word.

We are all adults here - We can't expect Bryan / Max / Dunover to play headmaster and come running every time someone uses a swear word.

I have been around on this site for a long time. It HAS become petty, to the extent that I just think - Why on earth can't we get along? I was probably more vocal in my earlier days, had my battles, had my say and moved on. This is a casino forum, not a place to come and fight amongst one another - fight the rogues, cheats and liars - not your fellow members!!

@Harry_BKK - I get your humor. I'm sure that you did not intend any malice. You are NOT that type of person and never have been for as long as I have been here. However, If i were the forum owner, I would be taken aback by the amount of threads that were created.

Sure - they were done in humour and to prove a point, but adding 10 threads that the forum owner would need to come and mop up after the party wouldn't really leave anyone too pleased.

We are all playing in Bryans backyard here and sometimes just a little bit of restraint on minor issues will probably be hugely favorable to them in getting to things they want to do ...

And to other members here - Please stop picking a fight with Dunover. I honestly believe that the man is a GOOD guy. He WILL help you should you require assistance. Just because we disagree on issues - it doesn't make that person your enemy!!

I imagine it was making numerous spam threads created in protest of the Bonanza one being closed and trying to rally other members into discontent. No offense to Harry at all but one thread would have sufficed for this.

Having a herd mentality and trying to undermine Bryan isn't going to go down well with him obviously. That's just me looking at it from the outside in. I don't really have an opinion about whether the thread remains closed or gets open again, the game is a POS anyway and I only visit it to complain :D

As for the thread being closed for "swearing" or the use of "vulgar" words, I agree people need to develop a thicker skin. We're all adults and as long as the words are not contextually thrown at another member directly then I don't see the problem.

i appreciate unrelated pictures, and gifs are scattered over different subjects.. and it adds up over time.
but its not, at least to me, like you get pages on the same thread dedicated to the stuff. often even ppl sharing their thought on something in an attempted humorous kind of way, which in a way is quicker to go past than having to read than a paragraph explaining the image users thoughts. (thoughts which, i can well imagine, many people being too scared to even share an opinion in fear it annoys people who are not interested in it..)

christ, I'd hate to be a sales persom in a shop dealing with a returned item, if someone brought a book, and half way through it there was a moving picture of which they didnt want to waste time skipping past..

safe to say i will respect peoples 'feels' and personally post no more, since i am guilty of this crime.

Maybe he is a nice guy and I will take your word for it that he probably is. I do find some of what he posts offensive but I am not trigger happy and leave well alone until it vanishes in the mist as others post. For me on the outside looking in, I have read comments about what other people have found offensive and it is permitted, whilst others are banned for what I consider less offensive on the whole - where is the consistency?

Right now there appears to be a group divide of them and us!

Me too . I won't be posting any more. There is so much i could say about this and other related situations but 'm not going to just not worth it . I will go back to reading posts only and being like an owl. The less he spoke the more he heard .

I think the bonanza thread is one of the highlights to this forum. So much outrage posted because of one game :eek2::laugh: Im glad it's back even though I voted no on the poll because I got beef with the slot

I am with interlog though, too much banter going on in ALL threads. Not to the point where I report posts or anything but to the point where it gets a bit annoying when Im trying to find something and have to go back through 4 billion pages! Banter is fun and it's alot better than people fighting and being poisonous but that's why the attic was created. Most threads will have some banter and that's okay but almost every thread with endless pages :eek2:

I think the reporting thing is fine and its up to the mods to have to deal with and if people are spamming them they will be dealt with by Bryan. BUT I think we should stop calling people out on it because what offends some may not offend others. And no I didnt report any posts. Some people get really offended by the C_ _ T word. I personally dont and sometimes call my girl friends it when they are being a little testy. Some females gasp at the word and I tend to think that's silly and we should all stop giving words so much power. But that is for another conversation and I respect varying views.

There are a couple things im seeing around here that I do not like and if someone posts something a little bit controversial, they are getting piled on. Lets not do that, if you see one person call them out just leave it be. I was really bothered to see how Steviedoo was piled on last week just because her view was a bit different. It's ok to disagree but lets not shame people folks.

I also, agree with Nate. Creating 10 threads on someone else's forum to spam it for humor, is just not a good idea. One or two, ok but the entire forum when there are many lurkers, reps, members trying to find and read through things is a tad disrespectful. Especially since newbies visit this forum everyday and if they come across that they would probably think oh casinomeister is just some cess pool. Ok off to somewhere else I go.

Again agree with Nate. I have seen some members calling dunover out on his new title and actions. When he was made mod I thought that's too bad because he wont be able to post like he used too and now will have take a more serious stance on everything because he is representing the brand. I mean when he posts in the rigged thread defending slots now Im like :eek2:. Where did the real dunover go? Well I guess he cant really wear his tinfoil hat as much anymore because people may say "look even a mod of casinomeister says the slots are rigged. Quick grab your protesting signs and lets go!"

People need to get used to it, the old dunover is gone. Its much easier to accept if you pretend there was never an old one.:mad:

So much drama and its only the beginning of the week. I think what would be fitting is someone go set up a bonanza contest now..that..I..will...not..partake..in.. :D

I sincerely hear you.

My belief is IF someone is being personally attacked - Please go ahead and report it. That's an absolute no-no and I would not tolerate it either.

The point being - we are exposed to swear words on TV, the radio, at the office and everywhere else. This is an 18+ forum - Purely for adults. You WILL expect to see stuff that from time to time. Just by me having an opinion on the subject, I GUARANTEE you that someone will have a different view to 'my opinion' .... and might find what I say offensive. I can't do anything about that.

That is just the nature of the beast - The internet. If we spent our entire day being offended by small words and sentences, I doubt we would get very far.

I generally believe that IF your swear words are done in humour or to give your sentence a bit more meaning, then they should be ok.. but thats just MY opinion.

IF your swear word is directed at another member of this forum in a way that is to belittle them, then it's not a good option.

Remember people - We have the IGNORE function. If you are tired of Goatwacks humor - please use the function, so you don't need to see his content and be offended.

1) The forum doesn't have enough active members as it is, so asking people to stay on topic is just one way of again stopping people posting. If the thread is serious then keep it serious but if the thread is generic or a slot based thread then anything should be game.

2) No one is attacking Dunover, what people are pointing out is his tone of language and posts is allowed and others get pulled up on it, that is why his name is constantly used as a example, it's nothing against Dunover personally it just points out the double standards that exist here.

Finally, this is slots, its a fun RIGGED game for us all to lose on long term, sadly it slowly becoming a platform for people to post their affiliate videos or get their youtube or twitch name out their. Some of us are just regular players and want a laugh and a joke on here, I find it comical people asking to keep the bonanza thread on topic? on topic of what? whats to be serious about? this isn't sports betting discussing which team or horse wins, it's pressing a button and nothing more.

No edge, no advantage, no strategy or statistics will give a advantage, so this serious talk I am really missing. Why can't people lose money, rant, discuss and joke about the games they enjoy?

I love @goatwack s Humor best man thumbs up

Geez, there's no grey area here is there.

Us and them simple as, you decide which side you're on

Ignore, report, run to teacher, getting very tiresome. I for one find it takes less than a second to scroll past a post you don't want to read, slightly longer but still as effective to click 'X' top right.

You've only go to look at certain posts and the associated 'likes' to see who's in who's army :p

To be honest mate, I noticed it as Dunover is still the SAME Dunover he was (Apart from giving BTG more airtime than they need .. Lmao) - he still is the same 'character'. I think perhaps people view him differently now that he is a mod?

I'm pretty certain that his intentions are not to hurt anyone on this forum - maybe its just HIS way. Perhaps he will read on about the things people don't like and become someone he isn't :)

Banter - I have No issues whatsoever and genuinely enjoy a lot of chitty chat - like your Bonanza midnight specials. It is a forum and you will never ever regulate what people say or do.

The ONLY reason the thread got shut down, is because of the bickering and reporting going on...

But once again man, people always have differing opinions ....but it shouldn't sour relationships with one another.

I agree Nate but the confusion is not us wanting Dunover to change his style of posting but in fact keep that freedom and allow us the same luxury. But because people report trivial stuff myself and others get warned when same stuff Dunover posts in terms of language is allowed.

That's the comparison used. None of us especially me are asking Dunover to be censored.

@nutnut

Active doesnt mean how many people are posting. You can be active and not post a lot. Reps lurk, lurkers lurk, members lurk. They all deserve respect and an opinion if they choose to voice it.

Asking people to stop the overly off topic stuff is just a respect thing which is obviously being reported by enough people that it's caused an issue for Bryan to have to address it.

If Bryan gets 10 reports by different members to stop the OT stuff and he has 10 people who like it, well he has to find some middle ground to please each side. He has stated he understands there will always be banter but to try and not go too crazy with it and if you want to, he has made a forum section so people can do that. I don't think that's unreasonable.

As for dunover, I was more addressing people taking shots at him when he does do his mod duties, which I have witnessed. But he can defend himself so I dont really want to get in a back and forth about it.
