It seems to be playing a bit better but still disconnecting in the bonus rounds a lot. I managed one GOLD last night at x150.

It’s strange really, most slots you would be quite happy with that but with Bonanza you always feel hard done by.

One thing I have noticed is that big winning cascades are never seen in the bonus rounds nowadays. When it came out I am sure you would often get say a load of kings and the gaps would fill with a load of queens or something. It could be my memory playing tricks but seem to think this did happen.

It’s disconnecting on NYX on autospin I find.

Also, desktop isn’t doing it but mobile is : mobiles still glitchy.

Played it way too much when it first came out and only managed 1 (yes, one) screenshot to upload here. I remember it bonused more frequently than Bonanza but they were all in the lower end range of 20-50x. It's been a while I gave it a go tho.

I played it on evenings when Bonanza was dead and I used to do ok but nothing huge. The last few months I have played it here and there but apart from a x100 and a x200 in the base it’s been awful.

It’s gone really hard to bonus and the base game isn’t as solid as Bonanza. My theory is the novelty has worn off which = less money being played through it which means less payout.

OOOOOOHHHHH silly me I am getting confused with compensated aren’t I.

I mentioned this in this very thread a couple of months back. Go 1000 spins no bonus one session then go back the next time and watch it land in the first few spins. Happened time after time to me.

I'll never be convinced that there isn't something going on behind the scenes with online slots, ever. That's my gut feeling and I'm afraid that no amount of spiel is going to convince me otherwise.

Will I still play them? Of course I will. Can you still get big hits? Of course you can. However, I'm convinced RTP management/manipulation happens behind the scenes. There are just too many benefits of being able to do this from a casino perspective.

Plus when you play slots for circa 10 years, you tend to see the same fuckery on a loop.

I remember Coral, Ladbrooke's & Paddy Power doing that to me. It seems there's a unwritten deposit/bonus ratio you need to keep to even though they shower you with bonus offers. Oh & they don't like consistent winners. I told them where they could shove their accounts & went elsewhere.

I've never understood what benefits bonus banning people brings to a casino. I mean, for the sake of a free fiver here and there or a few measly free spins, they're happy to lose a depositor? Makes no sense to me.

Neither will I. We are like yo-yos just when you think you’ve hit the bottom you get pulled up again. Filled with new belief you can’t believe what’s happening as you plummet down again and so on. Always just within your tolerable parameters.

I remember thinking and saying the same about online poker. Only to be shot down in flames but a few years on those people ended up on the other side of the fence.

It’s all a bit to convenient for my liking. When you analyse it rtp is based on millions of spins, with megaways slots it has to be billions. Given most players won’t even complete 10,000 spins in a game how convenient that if they don’t hit rtp “you didn’t play enough spins” and if they do nobody can argue.

Why do I play? The reason being is I have played slots since I was old enough to know what they were and online is the cheapest format in the long run. It beats arcades, land based, you name it.

I get the feeling it is like that sometimes aswell.
But i usually land on "why would they risk it". I mean slots are designed to take our money anyway.
Also they are designed to give you that feeling of "ah almost had it" so they keep people hooked.
And if they somehow kept tabs on your ip and this thing was happening on all casinos, i think they would not be able to hide it.
I mean theres a shitload of sites out there, and if all of them were in on it, surely proof of it would have leaked long ago.
There must be atleast a few of all the casinoemployees world over that has a conscience. :P

The thing is casino employees wouldn’t know even the manager. It’s the same as betting shops and FOBTS. Corals, Hills, and Ladbrokes staff would be totally oblivious as to what’s behind these slots making millions.

Only providers would know and people say but games are tested and casinos audited. Maybe they are but do the people who do this really look deeply, do they even know what they are doing.

People say they don’t need to fix it but what better way than to take 4% off all your customers every year than to leave it to chance and lose 50% every year. Just because a business is lucrative it doesn’t mean it’s 100% legit.

In my younger days I worked for an independent bookie. We were the busiest in town and had all the big punters. How did we get them? It was in the days of 10% tax, they didn’t like paying it and you can guess the rest.

I cant claim to know the inner workings on how they test the slots. But i assume, or atleast hope that the people testing are people that understand the code/math of the slots they are looking at.
Even if its just providers&top brass knowing about it, thats still alot of people that somehow manage to keep it secret.
I mean, new providers pop up pretty often, and would have to be instructed to rig the slots. I think there would be whistleblowers if those things were happening.
My reasoning bottoms out in that i believe the risk outweighs the benefits when it comes to rigging slots.

But without learning how the code&math works and somehow be able to test for myself, all i say is just pure speculation.
And bears hate math, so i wont be testing any slots anytime soon. :P

I very much doubt anyone is even allowed to look at the maths and I would imagine the slot programmers would be a few steps ahead anyway.

If that was happening they wouldn’t need to test it through billions of spins because anyone who understood the maths could verify it before hand.

I know I am sceptical but in this world it pays to be so here is another thing. Given that there are thousands of games are they really all checked in depth and even if they are how often (if ever)are they checked again. Could this be the reason games disappear then reappear having god knows how many versions.

And that's the crux. Why leave it to chance when you can smooth the income stream and guarantee that you'll never have a significant group of players all hitting wonder hits at the same time. Because that could happen if things were truly left to chance and it could bankrupt or at least paralyse a casino.

Other benefits include being able to analyse individual's slot play, looking for things such as tolerance thresholds etc. If you think someone's had enough and about to give up, it would be easy to lure them back in and retain a customer with a big hit. Big data is massive these days.

Being able to control the distribution of RTP just has too many benefits to a casino for what Snorky is saying not to be a possible thing that happens.
 
I think a lot of the answer could lay in the different reel strips, say you get a £20/100x win on strip 1 that could perhaps trigger the reels to change to number 2, where the rtp is still 96% but contained in fewer, bigger wins. so then you start to experience a dead base game and the slot clawing back the £20, however if you were able to play long enough on reel strip 2 would see some decent wins land. But likely your balance is decimated before that happens.

As long as each reel strip was 96% rtp and random it would be legal, some reel strips could have more bonus scatters, hence you get those sessions with loads of bonuses dropping in and others with none.

We know games use different reel strips but that's all we know, we don't know how frequent they change, whether that is itself random. I have to wonder why not just use 1 reel strip, and then the odds for each type of win are constant?

Bonanza is definitely a better game when played very occasionally, once a fortnight or something. Since I've cut down playing it I've had better results and not suffered from the extreme frustration of no bonuses for thousands of spins, which you will experience the more you play it.

I still think the risk of "no money stream" outweighs the benefits of a "steady money stream".

But there is only one way to settle this once and for all.
Im gonna have to refer to the High ground rule on this one, meaning it is @paul7388 who has to decide.
