Good afternoon all

I write as I have cashed me across this forum whilst searching for advise regarding self exclusion disputes.

I have recently had issues with betway where I have made a complaint. My complaint was in regards to an account I have been depositing to and making bets. After realising I may have a problem I then remembered that I previously held an account with Betway which I self excluded for 5 years.

I write to Betway and complained and required why their systems had not picked up on this and the account was allowed to be opened. I have since exhausted their disputes system and have been pointed to IBAS whom have advised they do not deal with self exclusion cases and sent me to the gambling commission however no refund will be forced.

Could anyone kindly advise on how to proceed to obtain a refund with these guys?

Moved this to the "complaints" section. Welcome to the forum by the way.

You are welcome to submit a PAB here - but as a caveat, SE cases can be very complicated and problematic. What response did Betway give you?

Sadly it is as much your responsibility to not reopen as it is theirs. If your details are the same as the previous account then they are liable to refund you. If the information differs, they will argue you purposely avoided their detection (which is most likely approved by their licensing jurisdiction) and as such, don't have to refund you.

Self exclusion is a two way street I'm afraid.

Thankyou for your response

I appreciate what you are saying however I have seen similar cases where people have obtained a refund so thought I would seek advice

My details were the same except for updated address etc which they are using to disregard my claim. I highlighted there terms and conditions regarding verification checks used for ID purposes so to my understanding had these been completed or when these had been completed the account should have been flagged and suspended?

When I highlighted all this to them they immediately suspended the new account even though it wasn't requested? This I feel them accepting they made a mistake?

I have contacted IBAS and they have advised that they do not deal with self exclusion cases? I have then proceeded to the gambling commission however there sites advise no refund is forced?

To whom am I to argue my case and force the refund?

I honestly think that you are wasting your time chasing the refund. I understand that losing money to a casino stings but there comes a time where you just have to seek help and hope to eventually be able to move on from this bad habit. As an addict myself, I understand how hard that is sometimes but at the end of the day, that is really the best course of action. Best of luck to you!

I have stopped playing which is the main thing, I've seen others lucky enough to get the refund however so thought I'd seek advice
