Betsson to close all uk accounts on 31st jan

I just received a text message from Betsson saying that all UK accounts will be closed on 31st January 2015.
Apparently Betsafe will still be operating for UK players though

Same here. I can't say that I'll mourn their loss, especially given their insistence on players' re- submitting documents for withdrawal purposes despite prior w/ds, non- existing promotions and general apathy towards the UK market. They even make Unibet look good!

Yes, that's very true. It looks very UK focused as well with the Bulldog with a flatcap on. IT replaced Harry's Casino, which was very much orientated at UK players. It would not surprise me if it gets dropped and the players get migrated to Betsafe.

Seems odd given that to have taken UK players from November they would have had to go to the trouble of getting a UK licence, yet now they just "throw in the towel". It would have made more sense to get this sorted out in the run up to November like the majority of other operators did.

It's unsettling for UK players who think the "storm" has passed, and that those casinos that remain open to them will be a stable long term offering. Having a new wave of "xxxx casino will close to UK players from......" is unsettling, and may make UK players defensive, and this in turn will make it harder for casinos to recruit UK players, or retain those they already have.

Many casinos lost my action some months before the UK changes, not because they had specifically said they were closing, but because they dithered, sat on the fence, and left UK players in a state of uncertainty with regard to future plans. Only the rumour mill provided information, and it was pretty accurate too!

I think you sum it up well by saying that it is unsettling for UK players. I have to say that I thought any sites not offering a service to UK players would have done so when the new laws came in. The fact that this has happened a couple of months after gives the impression that more could do the same over the next few months as casinos start to realise that allowing UK players simply isn't worth the hassle.

As a UK player myself, I'm quite disappointed to hear this news.

Anyone having problems getting on to Betsafe website?? I was doing well been playing Immortal Romance been playing it for over 1 hour then now after midnight decided to close it down after my spin took me down to just over £150. And I had just completed wagering.

But then suddenly it would not connect. I have tried different browsers and also my mobile refuses to connect me. Only site I got problems with

Strange mobile works now through their app LOL.... hmm even more strange shows my bonus still active and not wagered makes no sense.
