Tips Betspin is live!

So does that mean we non UK players should not register now, and instead wait until you accept UK players and offer that exclusive offer here?

You can definitely register now. I'm sure we will run promotions that are for all Casinomeister users whether they register now or later.

not sure if its been mentioned already, the warning that we currently aren't permitted to play at the casino.

For various legal or commercial reasons, we do not permit accounts to be opened by, or used from, customers based or domiciled in certain jurisdictions, including the United States of America, United Kingdom, France, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Denmark, Turkey, Hong Kong, Afghanistan, Ethiopia, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Pakistan, Syria, Nigeria and Yemen or other restricted jurisdictions as communicated by betspin.com from time to time.

covers the en/login and go to games links at the top right hand corner. For one i generally like to have a nosey round the casino even if i'm not permitted to register yet! and for the technically not savvy this is currently not possible unless you know the exact urls as the only clickable link is the register button. The others are hidden by the popup warning.

for the technically non savvy the games lobby is here
You do not have permission to view link Log in or register now.
:)

i'm aware that you dont neccesarily want UK to register yet, but even so its nice to be able to see what we are missing :)

Is there a 150% welcome bonus for players from the Netherlands?

Is there a 150% welcome bonus for players from the Netherlands?

I think the casino looks great as do the welcome offers, but as a Dutch player I have one question: will you (in the future) have Ideal as a payment method, and if so, how soon?

Thank you for the kind words and feedback. We appreciate that iDeal is one of the most popular payment methods for Dutch players. At the moment we are expecting the Dutch market to regulate, probably within the next 12-18 months, so we will revisit this and then make a strategic decision in the very near future. I will keep you posted as events unfold. Cheers.

Thank you. Let me put it this way, wouldn't you want to create a Dutch player base before the market is regulated? The Dutch government are not beating down on any "illegal" operators as long as they abide by the rules (i.e. not advertising in Dutch, not having an .nl extension, not having the Dutch language on your site etc.). But of course this is nothing new to you :)

Site looks really great, best of luck.

Yes, I think its more a case of gauging if we will actually apply for a license once the market regulates. That being said if it makes commercial sense for us to add iDeal regardless of if we do apply then we will of course try to do that for our Dutch players. :)

Aaaaand im out :(

Just received this email

We appreciate that you have shown interest towards Betspin.com. But now, it is with regret that we have to write to you to inform you that we are no longer able to accept players from Germany.

This is a strategic managerial decision as the licensing situation seems to be changing and we would like to review this before committing to operating in this market.

I havent heard anything about any changes. Are there new laws coming up? Any input would be appreciated. TBH i always wondered how easy it is to gamble online without paying any taxes or something like that. I mean, come on, its germany, everything is regulated and taxed here. :D

The changes that have applied are more for sports betting operators but we would like to fully understand the situation and how it will impact casino operators before moving forward in this market. Even more so as a new start-up, we would prefer to be prudent here when it comes to these type of licensing matters and would not like to jeopardize our overall business. We will follow the situation closely and will update you as soon as we have a better understanding of how we aim to proceed.

Thats the point, they didnt regulate anything and thats why its illegal to gamble from germany.

A german player was confiscated 200k of his black jack online winnings. It was the first player which was "chased" by the government so i guess casinos start to notice that.

Can UK players use Betspin now?

I see this on the website....

Afaik this guy made the silly mistake withdrawing a huge chunk of money in a go from his bank account and therefore authorities went after it due to money laundering suspicion. Since earnings from gambling are tax-free in germany they found something else to blame him for.

"Unfortunately, the court did not fully evaluate whether the unlawful gambling rules under the German Criminal Code comply with EU law," Barabash said. "There is a clear anomaly between, for example, rules that allow a German person to visit a casino outside of Germany and those that prohibit the same casino games being played online within Germany."

It is still completely unclear if the german legislation is in compliance with EU-regulations. EU law enables private operators to provide gambling services - in Germany there is still a public-monopoly for gambling. EU law should break German legislation!! Not long ago german state Schleswig-Holstein issued dozens of licenses (although for their state exclusively) - these licenses are still valid. So a very unclear case. I guess as long as German law is such clearly violating EU law every operator should (and I hope they do @betspin @igame) offer gambling services to german customers. Considering the size of the market it's clearly worth the risk.

"Barabash said that if a gambling operator based in Germany had provided access to unlawful gambling services then it would be criminally liable under German law. However, he said the public prosecutor in Munich, who brought the case against the black jack player, could not enforce German laws against the UK gambling operator in this case."

IMHO another reason to offer services to german customers since german authorities won't be able to enforce any kind of punishment against the operator. They would need to do something like UIEGA in the US - going after the payment providers. But look at our politicians, web-technically still stuck in the 90s this will not happen in the next couple of years.

i received the same email and arent satisfied at all... they should know the situation in germany before they open doors... wont come back here again even if they decide that it is ok for germans to gamble here...

I'm very sorry about we had to pull out from Germany only after a week from opening. Our understanding was (and still is) that the licensing is very unclear and it might not comply with EU law. This would have been an ok situation for us to operate in Germany. But after hearing from very trustworthy sources that officials are likely to take quite 'aggressive' legal actions towards companies (and their management) operating without license we decided that it's better to review the situation properly. As a small start up we can't afford to start any legal processes nor can we take the risk of operating and getting sued.

I want to thank hedgehok and Shorty for their comments.

@Shorty - I hadn't even read the story about the German player. Very good information.

@hedgehok - you're right about the size of the market but as explained above, it's not right time for us to take such a risk. I'm quite sure we'll end up accepting German players at some point in the future.

Best regards,
mikko

We are legally permitted to operate in the UK but we have taken a strategic decision to wait before we enter the UK market. That being said we are hopeful that we will be able to open our doors for UK players in the very near future. I will keep you posted on developments. Thanks.

Thank you for the information Mikko - your careful procedure just shows how seriously you take your business. I wish you a great start and hope to join you asap. Keep us informed.

Ok I've had it with BetSpin

1st Issue

Neteller Deposits are reflecting as failed (reported to Phil and Mikka). The Failed deposits resulted in me redepositing and getting a double amount deducted from my account. So in any event, I go on to Live Help to report this. 'Isabella' which I must say is one of the most CLUELESS Chat reps EVER (Im sorry - she just is that bad) - Tells me she will add the bonus. She adds extra and when I tell her its incorrect, she adds more but doesnt remove the other money. I am eventually sitting with over 900 Euro (from a 100 Euro Deposit) after asking her to credit a 50% bonus. After easily 45 minutes she still can't get it right so I get hold of Phil and Mikka to alert them and they fix it.

2nd Issue.

Today I received a promo code for a deposit of 50% up to 50 Euro. So I go ahead, deposit 100 Euro and use the code - transaction fails and bonus is not credited. So I go to Live Chat again. Guess who is online - Isabella . Whilst I'm trying to tell her I did not receive the bonus, my account is debited again for 100 Euro - I didn't even Deposit because I know although it 'fails' - it is actually successful. I make no biggie, report it and withdraw the extra 100.

Now Isabella credits me 25 Euro instead of 50 and states that its 50% up to 50 Euro so I may receive a max of 25 Euro. I repeatedly tell her its incorrect and she repeatedly insists that its correct. How can BetSpin employ a staff member that cannot count is beyond me. She either credits too much and insists its correct or too little. She even said she confirmed it and she is 100% correct.

WTF really? Failed transactions being credited, Money being removed when you DIDN'T Deposit, Staff not knowing what a 50% Bonus is...

I did not want to post here, but ive seriously had enough. Sorry guys, this makes you look extremely BAD.

first issue was reported by me to rep about 10 days ago(or so). They still don't resolve it? Well, not great.
I had good experience with their CS, so can't complain. But your description of course does not sound right...
