Betfair - Dodgy bonus rule

Just checking a bonus out on Betfair and was astonished to see this has been added to their rules in which they can forfeit your winnings if you do the following.

Playing equal to or more than 500 auto spins on a Slot machine and/or playing a Slot machine consistently for a period longer than two hours while a bonus is active.
- EG - You set any game to run on auto spin for 500 spins while you have an active bonus in your account and/or you play for a period of two hours or more (irrelevant of how many sessions) while you have an active bonus.

If I have read that right, if I ran 5 sets of 100 spins on a game back to back they deem that as a reason to forfeit your winnings? How can such a rule even exist, that is shocking and down right pure filth.

I've hundreds of times played the same slot for hours on end and easily had thousands of auto spins back to back. Never heard or seen a rule like this before.

I have no words for this. This is beyond dodgy - it's outright roguish, a term to entrap players who don't read the terms. And yes, you should read the terms but if you did read the terms why would you ever ever EVER play here with a term like that? The wording in the latter part of playing for 2 hours is also strange and I would be afraid to play at all.

That auto play rule has been around for ages.

Crap rule agreed, a lot of the MG download casinos used to have it, Spin Palace, River Nile, Jackpot City etc

More I think about it, not totally sure but think auto may have been totally banned whilst a bonus was in play!

all auto spin does is make it easier for the player to lose more quicker how on earth does it give an advantage.

Unsure mate but would hazard a guess it may have something to do with leaving a decent balance (following an early decent hit on some game) to 'grind' away WR on higher RTP slots whilst players do other things and don't keep game hopping and therefore losing quicker maybe?

Those terms are unrealistic and predatory - Has anyone considered reporting it to the UKGC?

Sadly, my guess is that they will just say that Betfair are free to set whatever terms they want as long as they are not illegal.

Immoral sadly doesn't mean illegal..

I'd be more concerned about the fact they basically are saying that you HAVE to turn over your bonus within 2 hours. Surely that encourages irresponsible gambling...

Couple this with a maximum stake restriction, and is it possible that it may even end up being impossible to turn over a bonus of a certain size?

What's even more sad, is the fact that if the regulators wash their hands when it comes to terms like these, how they can justify any kind of promotion of responsible gambling? Predatory terms are exactly what they should be focusing on.
