Betfair Casino changed my odds setting to fractional and refuse to set it back

Crazy day, I log into Betfair and see my bets in fractional form under my Bets, this is the first time I have seen this as it's always been decimal. I look for an option to change it back but there is none. So I go to chat, he tells me there is an option to change it, I tell him wrong answer, there isn't.

I get sent to a specialized team and he tells me that my account has been changed to fractional and there is no option to change it back to decimal. He tells me this is a business decision and is sorry I'm not happy.

Does Betfair have a rep here? How can it be possible they allow people to choose their settings on Sportsbook, and say the choice will be remembered but change my account setting out of the blue, without notification and tell me I cannot have it decimal?

Really sounds crazy and it should be a simple fix, since for the past year everything has been decimal to me. Business decision? BS answer. I got the whole chat copied too.

Anybody had this happen to them? Am I crazy in thinking players should have a choice here and not have the management decide who gets to see their odds in which format?

Indeed they are, just read it. Updated in January and September of this year.

Guess I should have done my homework but it's better having this issue then not getting paid out. In September I deposited 100 pounds, turned that into 1500 in a matter of weeks and Betfaid paid me out 2 days after requesting a withdrawal so I can count myself lucky.

I have spoken to a third chat agent, who told me it's a technical glitch that the team are looking into and should be fixed in a couple of days, no word to it being a Business Decision relating to my account as told to me by the previous chat agent. Nobody there seems to have any idea of what's really going on

I've been with Betfair since 2003 and never had any problems with them, I find them easy to contact, and they are prompt payers.

After 5 days of saying that forcing people to see their Bets in fractional format is because of a technical glitch and/or a business decision, I've closed my account to focus on bet365.

Sooner or later they realise they'll have more deposits if they gave punters the choice that other bookies do.

I believe this is some sort of glitch that no one in the CS knows how to solve so they bounce excuses around, and I believe it will be sorted soon as it makes no sense to take away this choice.

I had a good run with them, cashed out £1500 from a £70 deposit. They paid within 2 days and I had my money on my account in 3 days total so I can't really complain about any of that. Just wished the understood the benefit of giving players a choice with so much competition around.

If you scroll down on the betfair sports page there should be an option to change it like in the screenshot below:

Yes, this is where I chose to have everything in Decimal, and that sportspage shows the odds in Decimal format. My issue is that once I place my bets, all the placed bets show as Fractional Format in My Account > My Bets.

I have no idea what these fractions mean, so if I have a multiple and a few selections won, I have no idea what the remaining selections mean. For instance I'll have Barcelona 11/3 and then I can't translate the value of this into decimal to see what the bet on Barcelona is. It could be straight win, to score more goals, etc. I reference my bets according to the odds, so if Barcelona is 2.5 I know it's not a bet on a straight win as they're always lower, so I know this bet if for Barcelona to win and both to score.

Yes, there are solutions, but why make it complicated all of a sudden? Closed my account and have bet with bet365.
Since it makes no sense as a business decision I assume it is a technical glitch. It could only be a technical glitch unless Hard Brexit means no more european odds in the bookies :)

11 divided by 3, plus one, it's not rocket science.

Perhaps Betfair are trying to get us to start using our brain again.

yes, great, thanks a lot. Is it that hard for you to understand 1.5? TO me that's simpler but I don't go knocking saying you're not using your brain. If you got nothing to contribute just go troll somewhere else

The man doth protest too much, methinks. :)

So why are you replying exactly? What is your point? You think taking away choice from players is progress somehow, and imply that people who don't think in fractions aren't using their brains....so that is the majority of the world.

You're on some high horse, maybe it's Brexit breakthrough...

In my opinion, and experience, Betfair is one of the better bookies and casino sites out there, and they get too much of a bad rap on here.

I turn over a lot cash at Betfair and they have treated me courteously, honourably and with the utmost efficiency in my 15 years of membership, that is why I am replying.

If they have always treated you courteously then you are not effected by the issue the OP is raising and therefore you have zero to add to the discussion. Ignoring an issue just because it does not effect you personally is the epitome of selfishness.

It is a free discussion forum, I am entitled to add my opinion, just as you are.

To the OP, if you need any help, I used to work with them so might be able to assist :) Just drop me a PM and I'll do my best to help. You can then post the thread here for transparency's sake and to show I'm no longer an employee with them.

Thank you for your help. I have been in touch with CS many times since then just to see if they've come to their senses. It seems like there was a technical (and visual) update on the site, and that has resulted in this 'glitch' I'm talking about. But some CS reps say it's a business decision, some just say options are not available at the moment, some have no idea what I'm talking about and some say they will let the management know.

Either way I feel they are aware, and if they're not bothered about the loss of revenue and players, I'm not either. Plenty of places that will take my deposits, bets and offer me some choice. Thanks again for your offer

I have turned over enough to have to pay the premium charge on the exchange, and for me the opposite is true. At the moment I am banned from accessing live data and can only view prices 3 minutes old. Now they are asking why I am not betting with them. Errmmm, maybe because by the time I see a price the race is over, or 2 goals have been scored!

Yeah, I hear you, I don't bother with the exchange anymore, unless I am interested in a particular soccer match, which isn't very often.

All I play now is live roulette, and there is no premium charge on that, no commission, there are also no banking fees, no finicky small print playing a bonus through, plenty of choice of tables... just pure pleasure, and the money is in my bank the next day!
