I'm new to this forum and hope I can get some assistance on what is probably an old talked about and fantasized topic, how to handle winning greater than " blank,000".
I've seen recent posts about banks freezing accounts following weekly deposits and I finally did get a winning steak and now I realize I need to proceed with caution. I've just become aware the bank can start their own red flag on your accounts even with a cashout of just over 2000.00. Thanks in advance for any info or resources

My experience with depositing checks is to request an odd amount for withdrawing. So far I have never had a problem with depositing (but had a glitch of trying to cash it). I do not know why they ask you to deposit directly but it has seemed to work. Never go more than $5000 in a given month. Too many red flags.

I also put on the memo line before depositing it that it is for items sold, auction items or some such. The reason I do this is because they take a photo of the check and if there was any question of where it came for and for what, it was already imprinted on the check that the bank took a scanned picture of.

Called CYA on all fronts.

Do a wire transfer

I withdraw using a wire transfer to my bank in US without any problems--I think it is the best way to go--for me anyway--Hope this helps...

Red Flag

Thanks for your advice, unfortunately I have gone over the amount that might set off a red flag and I will hold back for a few weeks before completely getting my winnings. I agree about the memo line.Good idea.Maybe another bank too?

I received my check and I had it delivered via 'overnight courier'. That way I can see 'who' it was paid from.

I then deposited it via ATM and got a print out of check on receipt (BOA does that)

(Don't want to see 'online gaming' on the check in any way! If it did, I would contact casino and not deposit, of course)

Silcnlayc, has the best way to write in the memo line for auction stuff and all that.
