This snail mail letter from Belle Rock arrived today. It appears that I have opened an account with one or more Bellerock associated establishments in the past(doesn't say which ones and quite frankly, I have no idea myself). Couldn't have been a great experience since I didn't even bother to keep the account info as I always do when signing up and actually intend to play.

I don't know if it's readable for all without downloading/enhancing it so I'll let you know, in short, what is says. There are 3 important paragraphs:

1) Dormant Accounts Policy

Belle Rock enforces its Dormant Account Policy when a player does not play on his/her account(s) for 6 calendar months and the account(s) have a credit balance. Yada, yada yada.....we deduct a MONTHLY administration fee of $30(or the total balance, whichever is higher).

I have no doubt this policy exists and is included somewhere in their T&C but YIKES!, $30 per month? Isn't this a bit steep(see point 2 where they try to motivate the amount)? I remember one of the bigger poker rooms trying this cheap trick not that long ago and, by god, they sure removed the policy lightning fast and wished they'd never even tried to pull that kind of stunt. Poker players can form a nasty lynch mob when some online gambling site, to which the pay to play, is trying to rip them off.

2) Why?

The administration fee is levied to cover both the cost of keeping your account open and the cost of ongoing attemps to contact you in order to inform you that you have funds available.

I beg your pardon? The cost of keeping my account open? Am I being charged for the 2MB of space that my account info occupies on your server? And what's with this "costs of attemps to contact me"? What costs? A bi-yearly mass email with little to no content? Just for the record, NO attempts to contact me prior to this have been made so that I guess I should pay for nothing?!

3) When?(this is my favourite part)

We will be enforcing the policy and debiting your account(s) on September 29, 2006.

September 29 2006, huh? Then I guess I'll be needing some kind of frikkin time machine since this letter is stamped December 15, 2006..........This is just horrid and insulting, almost 3 months have passed since they started dipping into my funds to cover their alleged costs.

Naturally, I had to find out what's up with this and tried typing in the links to access my account(s). It didn't work. Couldn't remember my password and had to check the "lost password" section on Belle Rocks homepage. Got redirected to a defunked page so that was a dead end. Found another possible way to retrieve my password but, alas, it was no good either. I've given up on trying to access my account mainly because I will never play there and couldn't care less if there is indeed any money left behind.

In all my years gambling online, this is probably one of the most idiotic T&C clauses I've ever seen. And I've seen quite a few...

Sorry for the longish post, I guess this is more of a rant than anything else but it would be interesting to hear what you guys think about this.

That is AWFUL. They waited 3 months and collected $30/month before they notified you???

And part of the money they charged was supposed to go towards notifying you. Incredible!!!

You should contact the rep and see if they will refund your $30/month.

I don't think we'll need to boycott them... With Belle Rock's customer service next to non-existent, and now the US wiped off the map for them - it's going to take a miracle for them to stay afloat in 2007.

Just taking me as an example, The Gaming Club was easily my Number 1 casino when I first started out online. One CS disaster after another before I was finally pushed in the direction of somewhere else to play (which thank my lucky stars and casinomeister.com was 32RED!).

They've clearly done nothing to address this, and will be no doubt hemorrhaging customers at an alarming rate.

I might see if I can remember my Gaming Club account number, and log in to see if I left any money in :D

lol...Lets us know if your in the red!

What's next letters saying that all money has been depleated from accxxxxxx and the player now has a debit for keeping their accounts active...Give me a break!

Anyone want a good laugh?

Here is the latest from Bellerock...(after I told them I would no longer be playing with them for not offering me a Christmas bonus and the crap bonus right before Christmas)

We do not offer Christmas bonuses, simply because it is a religious holiday. Research, along with trial and error has proven to our Promotions Department that the majority of our players do not appreciate the Christmas/religious context. People are also very often offended by the undertone of offering large "gambling related offers" on such a religiously inclined day.

LMFAO....when was the last time anyone complained about getting a bonus on any day, even if it is a holiday?

Do they just make this shit up as they go along?

Buh-bye Bellerock :)

I think so maybe they have a monthly draw for the best BS and issue an award. Maybe that's where the promo $$$'s are going...

Festive Crap!

Anyone who is so devoutly religious as to be offended by a Christmas bonus ought NOT TO BE GAMBLING ANYWAY, lest their deity smite them with a thunderbolt (presumably from Thunderstruck:D ).

For the rest of us, Christmas is a commercial event (Jesus was born in September anyway), based on the early Pagan winter solstice holiday.
BelleRock DID in fact run a Christmas holiday promotion, free spins on Gift Crap:D
Many casinos offer a New Year bonus, and as this is not a religious holiday, perhaps this gives BelleRock a chance to redeem itself before players celebrate 2007 by clearing out their hard drives of BelleRock casinos!

Just remember Bellerock!! JESUS DIED FOR YOUR SINS! and for not giving Christmas bonuses to your customers.

Heck, the only bonus they ever offer me which I got two emails today in fact again is the new signup bonus but then again I do not qualify for it because I already have signed up which is how they got my email in the first place lol.

This to me is the mooooooost annoying thing ever. I get so many casino's that send me emails saying come and claim your free spins on us for signing up.. Well how the hell do you think you go my email in the first place - because I signed up. Idiots. Guess they spend so much time swapping/stealing email address to spam the hell out of that they can't keep which address they obtained from where straight.

*bump*

I'm just bumping this thread up, so when the contact person from Bellerock gets back from vacation he/she doesn't miss this. I think it's very important for him/her to read.

Scenario A):

They won't bother

Scenario B):

They will, and will take no notice

Scenario C):

They will, and will post some perfunctory response - probably in about a month or so if email CS is anything to go by

Scenario D):

They will, and vow to change their customer relations forever! Employing loads more knowledgable staff, abandoning crazy T&C's and looking after their customers!! Simultaneously, George Bush will announce his resignation and stepping down to join Greenpeace, Elvis will begin his comeback, comeback, comeback show in Vegas - and KasinoKing will post a winning screenshot at 9 a spin :D

Is this multiple choice?

I pick all the above! :D

Well, I'm deeply offended that Belle Rock is trying to push its religious views on me.

I got one of those silly ass letters 2 or 3 years ago and found $25 in the account they were horrified that I hadn't played on. Ended up cashing out about $300 from them, never did get around to sending a letter back thanking them for reminding me to win, of course I'm sure they would have been puzzled about it anyway.

i just closed my accounts with them.
O - sorry - no: i ve sent email to the non existing cs to close my accounts.
:eek2:
what a munstercabinet!
