I dunno what's going on lately but everyone and everything is really getting on my nerves lately. I'm sick and tired and frustrated with everything. I've decided to stop freelancing because my "clients" are mostly nothing but cheap MFers who expect me to drop everything the second they call and do their crap for nothing.

Seriously I'm sick of this sh*t. I'm sick of working my ass off and being broke all the time. I'm also sick of playing at the casinos cause I can't win anything. I'm sick of winter cause we have 4 bloody feet of snow in the backyard. I'm sick of tv and the crap that's on it. I'm sick of never being able to get ahead. [/rant]

Sorry I just needed to vent. I need a vacation I think.

Sorry to hear that Nate. Everyone who has worked as a freelancer has had moments of despair - I used to be a full time freelance writer but got fed up with all the BS similar to what you are ranting about. It's rare to find a client that really appreciates your work and isn't just interested in getting results for a minimum payout. I remember my culmination of frustration... I had worked for about 6 months over which I produced around 30-40 articles for a client, when he comes at me with a demand (not a request, the arrogant %&%$#) that I write him 5 articles in one week for an abysmal fee... of course your highness, I'll drop everything I'm doing for you. Wow, how I told him off :D. Probably not my most professional moment, but I was grinning for 2 days after that. I don't recommend you do the same as I did, but I can empathize.

It sounds to me like you need a break from the daily routine. I'm not sure what your interests are, but why not try to channel it into something you've never done but always wanted to? I would suggest to get a tent and a journal and go camping for a few (that's what I like to do when I need a break), but with 4 feet of snow in your backyard I'm not sure how viable that is right now :D

Don't worry, brighter days are around the corner

You should move to Germany ;)

Deep cleansing breaths Chayton... Just try to remember that most of today's stresses often seem so trivial a year from now. We've all been there I'm sure.

Most of the time I am 'the client', but even I see the truth in this:

WOW!!! That is the most awesome rant I have had the pleasure of reading in a very long time!! WTG, chayton!!!

So, uh...uh..dare I say?...

I HAVE THE ELECTRIC CIG!!!

Chayton??? It works but ????......it is exactly like smoking a regular cig!

I am in two minds here.....

It works...the pros???...less ash everywhere and less complaints from non-smokers but still, I do not think it's a way to go to quit.

When ready? Cold-Turkey.:sob::sob:

A cocktail (or 30) and a camping vacation in Germany is just the ticket. Now where's that lotto ticket...?

That's a beautiful pic Bryan, I want a big version for my wallpaper, maybe I could fool myself into thinking my monitor was a window!

I dunno, it's been a long tough winter and maybe that's what my problem is. I've got a few potentially good things in the works so it's not all doom and gloom - I'm just pissed off lately at all the little annoyances.

CindyLooHoo,

Wish I could send you some Texas sunshine! I would if I could figure out how to get it to Canada.

Get a pillow and a plastic baseball bat. Beat the crap out of the pillow and see if that won't make you feel better. :D However, you absolutely cannot use the bat on any living thing. When you get to be my age, you can get away with it, but you are way to young.

Or you can do what I do when I get in a mood, I just give everyone that pisses me off a good ol' Texas a$$ chewing. Makes me feel much better and keeps all my little people in line. LOL!

Ahhhh chayton! *HUG* Everyone needs a good rant now and then to stay sane. Hope you become defunkedified soon. the snow will melt, the sun will shine and people will stop being jerks (well, maybe not this part :D). The plastic baseball bat and pillow sounds like a great idea! (Although I know a few people I would like to take a wooden baseball bat to )

I hear ya, on the other hand it was 30°C (86°F) and blazing sunshine in Paris yesterday so our winter blahs are pretty much toast.

Chin up, global f***ed-up weather will have you warmed up in no time. :D

Great advice Anniemac!

You can also use an old computerkeyboard as a stressreliever.
You know, those old crappy plastic ones.
Just smash one REALLY hard on the edge of a chair or someting and the damn thing will kinda explode with the keys flying all through the room.:eek2:
Extremely satisfying and highly recommended!
(But make sure you wear your shoes. You dont want to step on a key with your bare feet;) )

Hope things get better for you soon Cindy, there's always sunshine after snow, eh, rain..:D

Years ago I had a friend who swore by throwing glasses when she was "ticked off" because it made her feel better! I thought, that can't be normal.

Next time I was fed up about something or another, I thought of her. I went and got a couple glasses from the kitchen and took them out to the big trash can in the garage. I threw them as hard as I could (into the can) and they didn't break! Crap.

She didn't bother telling me you had to throw them on the floor and "make a mess" when you threw them. Then, when you were done throwing them, you could focus on cleaning up the huge mess! Being exhausted really made you forget your "problems".

Duh, I am extremely thick headed sometimes! :o

Or you're just not keen on spreading shattered glass all over you kitchen. Actually a fairly wise move, especially if you have little furry pets in the house.

Some types of glass basically explode into thousands of little micro-slivers, hard to clean up and very bad for kitties and the like. :(

I hardly every throw things. Except a long time ago I was dating this guy who, if you met him, you'd want to throw things at too. He had some kind of force field that kept things from hitting him or breaking though, which is probably lucky because yours truly would be in prison if that crystal ashtray had found its mark. Actually, with good behaviour I might have been getting out about now. ;)

On a serious note, I'm fine now. Still frustrated with winter and the crap on tv (and the casinos...ugh) - but as for the freelance work, now that I've made the decision to not do it, I'm actually feeling a sense of relief. I do have one client that I do contract work for that I'm keeping, but she loves everything I do, which is nice - but also she actually appreciates me and the work I do which is really refreshing. The rest can kiss my butt.

And since my $ will be dwindling until I get my other schemes in motion, I won't be able to play online as much so I suppose the casinos will quit pissing me off too. And the snow is melting...down to about 3 feet now and I just saw part of my flowerbed poking through under the lilac tree. So yeah it's better now. :)
