davdav, what size are your bets?
I am talking from my own personal experience here, but when I played 60p a spin on the 243 way slots, I either cashed out big or crashed out big. With the crashes coming a lot quicker than the cashes. Try playing IR at even 60p a spin (just one notch above bare minimum) and see how quickly £100 disappears if you catch it when it is cold.
Ever since I went to full grind mode at min bet of 30p, I have had a lot more success. I've even completed WR playthroughs of £6,000 (£150 bonus at 40x) on min bet for profit. It's time consuming, but I get my slotting fix, get to play several different games and most importantly, get to keep myself in the game for longer.
I have become a lot more focused on getting good playtime on my deposits in recent months, so even when I do bustout, it is rarely quick. And then I can at least take some crumbs of comfort from a lost deposit by telling myself that I got some "entertainment value" for my money.
I am also quite prepared to make a wee deposit of £25 and then if I am lucky enough to get it to £50, reach for the cashout button. This is something that I would never have considered as little as 6 months ago, when I would have always set a cashout target of at least 5 times my deposit.
If you deposit £25 and cashout £50, your next £25 deposit is a freeroll of sorts. A double up doesn't sound great if it is for only £25, but it shouldn't be underestimated if you have a modest gambling budget to start with. Live to slot another day springs to mind. Sometimes less is actually more also springs to mind.
I should mention that I am not crushing the slots by any stretch. But I am slowly but surely reducing my overall losses on the slots. I started slotting in November 2011. It took me until June THIS YEAR to achieve my
first profitable month on the slots. Fast forward to today and I can happily report that October was my
fifth profitable month in a row. So I am not getting crushed either. That can't be a bad thing, can it?
PS I know of at least one member here who will bet as high as 6 euro a spin on Dark Knight or as little as 30p on Playboy. So even the higher rollers sometimes low roll. Something worth thinking about.
