Autoplay allowed at Golden Riviera?

This is in their T&C for the signup bonus:

The use of any electronic or robotic device to automate playing decisions in any game is prohibited except where the casino has specifically authorized it in writing.

Does this mean you cannot use autoplay when playing their signup bonus?

Autoplay is a feature in the new Microgaming Viper software. It allows the player to let the computer play the games and not have to manually click or be in front of the computer. In blackjack, they also give you a strategy card that the computer will use to decide whether to hit/double/split/stand on your cards.

If memory serves, the blackjack strategy card needs slight modification to play perfect strategy. The Video Poker autoplay plays basic strategy, as well.

To answer the first question, I think that only the Casino Rewards group (with the exception of Strike It Lucky) bans autoplay. The paragraph in Golden Riviera's T&C refers to other "bots" used to play (I think).

As far as banning Autoplay, Casino Rewards has a specific sentence in their T&C stating:

All bets played using auto play will not count towards the wagering requirements.

But I do agree with the above post ...

Do they really have that in their T&C??? That's unbelievable.

I am really curious. Can a casino really tell whether you are using autoplay? Is it recorded somewhere in the logs?

Casino Rewards will find any excuse they can to not pay you. They're a shame among Microgaming Casinos. I'm not playing with them anymore, at least not until they get their ecogra seal.

Good question GM. I imagine they could tell by the timing of your play maybe, and the other telltale signs of 'bot' play (like not taking time to admire a good win).

Isn't Autoplay a little bit "dangerous"? It's just like "telling" the casino software what "you plan to do" or where to bet ahead of time?

This is all just circumstantial evidence. I can play fast, at an even pace, without thinking and on a good day I don't even make a mistake. I play composition dependent strategy, for example, I hit 10,2 vs 4, this is something you cannot do with autoplay, but what if I just stuck to basic strategy or if there were no composition dependent exceptions in a particular session? It would look very much like autoplay, and I would not want to argue with the casino about it. I had enough hassle with River Nile, so I will touch any of these casinos, ecogra approval nothwithstanding.

Ping: I don't understand what your problem is. If the casino cheats, it can cheat whether you are playing manually or on autoplay. I mostly play MG Vegas Strip BJ on autoplay, and my records are consistent with the game being fair, I am slightly above expectation after several hundred thousand hands.

wow, you've really got to stay up on these things to remain informed. I had no idea there was any problem with autoplay until I just saw this thread. Well why the heck did they even create an autoplay? I don't suppose they'd mind if you autoplayed some slot game, would they?

Heck, I just hit a small royal last week at one of the Golden Group. I set it at 500 hands of video poker, went and got a beer from the kitchen, came back and saw a royal on the screen. woohoo! Now should I suppose that I am going to have a problem cashing out? geez.

PS: Regarding what JPM said about not stopping to see a big hand, I like to set the autoplay to stop when hitting a certain amount payoff. I DO like to sit there and look at quads or a straightflush. They're so pretty. :)

I do the same thing Paul! Any of those winning hands above 4ok are nice to stare at. I had read that from a casino group maybe a year ago, one of the tipoffs to bot play is the lack of pause when hitting a big hand since the bot doesn't admire its work.

I love autoplay sometimes. Its a great feature if you want to play a bunch of hands and don't want to stop till you hit a certain $$ amount.

There never was any problem with autoplay at MG casinos until recently that Casino Reward Group outlawed it. Am I right that they are the only group so far that has done this?

The autoplay is created by Microgaming, the software provider, and not by the casinos. The casinos, however, make their own rules about how players can play at their place if they take a bonus.

As far as how casinos can tell, I am sure it is easy for the software to provide a flag in the detailed log that autoplay was in session. It is such an easy thing to do, no guess work required.

You're probably right. The software can probably do ANYTHING they want it to.

I know I sound paranoid, but I just gave up on Microgaming's old blackjack game. Perhaps the Viper Version is actually fair and random. But I'm still convinced something smelled very bad about the old version's blackjack game. I just NEVER got "lucky" at it.

If you say you are slightly ahead of expectation on the Viper blackjack after several hundred thousand hands, I'll believe you and conclude that they must have "unrigged" it. That's a good thing.

I hate to sound paranoid, but I just CAN'T forget my terrible experiences with the old version. It's like sticking your hand in a flame, it burns every time.

Ha! I used to joke about their Terms & Conditions banning blackjack for bonus play. I used to joke that their Terms should MANDATE playing blackjack. lol "The player must wager the purchase and bonus amount ten times. Craps, roulette, and baccarat play is excluded, and we INSIST you play blackjack." lol :)
