Ok its not a bad warning per say.

I received a new CC from commbank (I am an ANZ man usually) so off I went to make a deposit into Neteller to have a small play..

CC Declined, I thought no this can't be right its a fresh CC.. so I think to myself "maybe you didn't activate the card properly". So after activating it again I try another deposit and again it is declined, I try it 3 more times and with them all being declined I was pretty frustrated so ended up calling the bank.

So the bank has blocked all CC deposit transactions to Neteller by default and you must opt on to a list and except the risks of using Neteller, because apparently there has been a heap of people using CC that have been stolen or don't even exist  to make deposits into Neteller and this is the reason for the block.

I have never had this problem with ANZ but the card I have is fairly old and is due to be replaced so will see if its also blocked but as far as I know atm its just Commbank.

Anyone else had this problem lately?

Anyway thought I would give a heads up to fellow Aussies.

Cheers
Matt

Wow, that's crazy. I spend about 20 minutes every time I go to use my Neteller account trying to locate passwords and pins because it is like Fort Knox trying to get in to my account.

Mind you the Neteller CC's are a fairly new thing I suppose so some people have obviously worked out a way of scamming them. It's worth knowing this info, just in case it starts happening over her in the UK too. Thanks MAtt

Good to know what's going on Downunder...it may be a good idea to inform Neteller of their looming Aussie problem?

Maybe it's just me, but seems like it's easier for crooks to make deposits with stole/fake cards than legit customers w/valid cards these days...

Ive got the new Net+ card and its got " The Chip " i hate those bloody tap and go things and because im uber paranoid i usually tamper with them by either A. Melting them slightly enough to damage the chip not the card so it cant be used in the tap and go ...or B. I cut the chip out of the card.

The problem is with technology, the more advanced we become the easier it is for the scammers and thieves of the world to steal from us because for every new piece of technology theres someone out there who cracked it before it was invented

Don't stress mate. I had the same issue when I moved from ANZ to Commbank. Because ANZ is Visa they are much more lax about it. Also, commbank is extra secure, that's why you have to enter a NETCODE every time you transfer money etc.

About 6 weeks back I had 2 deposits to Neteller worth 1k neither in my account as it was pending and nor in my Neteller as it was rejected. I was furious. Then I had to call command and it took me almost 2 days to sort it out and unblock Neteller for all transactions.

Call the bank :)

Funnily enough, and no tickets on myself here may I add, I have never had an issue with Neteller, whether it be depositing money into my account from a CC, or receiving payouts from many casinos. On top of that I have always received a phone call from customer service within 10 min of sending an email, and I use my NET + card daily, no issues.

Just to show other Aussies that it is also possible to have no problems with Neteller too.

Cheers

It is not a Neteller issue mate... It's a CBA issue of over security. I am guessing you are either using another bank or VISA card?

Do I need to repeat my previous post?

No, CBA fine too.

Well do I need to repeat my post?

CBA isn't fine untill you ask them to allow Neteller. If you are with CBA and are commenting from experience then your card might not have the security mine does ... But for normal transfer directly into a Neteller account from a CBA MasterCard is normally blocked by CBA if not lifted by the user. Personal experience not vague answers.

Have a little less ego when answering threads as you like anyone else here aren't the ocean of knowledge when it comes to individual experiences.
