I thought I could make up a few threads to start off the new B&M venture. Thanks Bryan!!!

For anyone going to Atlantic City from another state (except you Winbig lol) please ask away if you any questions regarding the Tropicana

For PA...Ive been going to Harrahs in Chester quite often and love this place. It's very roomy and offers lots of games plus that new robotic BJ. It looks like a real dealer but its on a screen. Way Cool!!

just a note

Trump: Nice Hotel but the food sucks. Ive eaten at 3 different places and it was horrible. Fun place to gamble but not to eat

Harrahs: Has the best buffet in Atlantic City

Tropicana: Has the best popular restaurants in Atlantic City. They have Cuba Libre, Carmines, Red Square just to mention a few. They have a tower called Havana, it ls like you 're in Cuba. Very fun and cool Mall. The trop has lots of freebies. They also have an unknown "coupon book" just ask for it at the promotions booth

If you like Poker: The Trop has a nice one but the tajmahal has one of the biggest poker rooms in the USA. The Hilton has a small one on the second floor.

If you like game shows: THe Showboat has Family Fued and the Price is right. They are set up like the real game. You either can get invited if your a regular customer or pay $25 for a ticket.

I was at the Borgata earlier this week and visited their poker room. All I have to say is, IT'S HUGE. They tout it as the largest poker room in AC, and I have to believe them. They have 85 tables if I remember correctly...

They also have a huge range of SnG's running all the time. The lowest stakes I heard announced were $100+20 and the largest was $1000+(?) I played a $100+20 and finished 3rd...too bad they only pay 2 places for the $100+20 :p

They also run $600/$1200 Limit games....insane

I really wish they had a BBJ running, but they don't :(

They also run Omaha hi/lo games. It's a shame they don't have any Hi only.

Here ya go Win

Trump Taj Mahal Poker Room Overview:
The Trump Taj Mahal has over 100 tables, making it the biggest poker room in Atlantic City. It’s open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and you can find seven-card stud poker, a few Omaha poker games, and of course, plenty of Texas Hold'em poker games, both limit and no-limit, to sit down and play at anytime.

They have tourney 7 days a week and its the home of the ESPN poker tourny as well. I dont doubt that the Borgata is nice, but the Taj is the biggest on the east coast

Check out www.trumptaj.com and they have the tourny schedule along with the Wagers

AC and PA Casinos

One thing I've done in the past year was to get The Total Rewards card accepted at Harrahs, Ballys, Ceasars, Showboat and other casinos in Las Vegas. I get all kinds of comps from playing with this card and it's been great. Just got back from comped trip to lake tahoe at harveys.

I mostly stay at the Trop and Hilton. The Hilton has really improved it's variety of slot games, but in general, the casinos in AC have been tight in the slot area. Even the casino personnel have told me this.

I go to harrahs chester a few times a week. Have won jackpots in their high slot area mostly or double/triple diamonds. There's also a very good video slot game there called GetExcited which is very hard to find elsewhere. Last weekend, I took a ride to Delaware Park and slots. I liked Harrahs chester much better. It's a much more inviting, comfortable setting and the sportsbar is great.

I go to the Borgata at least twice a week. Mondays and Wednesdays no limit tournaments are the best games in town. If I need a break, or want to go to the boardwalk, then I head to the Trop. Thursday 10k first place game is good, and usually caps at 200 players.

Harrahs runs a deep stack tournament once a month, but their location is terrible.

Most of the poker dealers in AC play at the Hilton, very nice poker room, but limited number of games. They used to run a 10:00pm no fee $100.00 buy in tournament, not certain if they do anymore.

I won a satellite tournament @ the Hilton, for the NJ State championship in Sept. That should be a good game

Overall for poker players, I would say the Borgata has the best games in town. The Taj used too, but they have a reputation now, for years actually, as the "ghetto" poker room. I have heard many a story of players getting rolled in the bathroom near the poker room. It is right near the exit to the street, so it is easy to rob and run, half drunk poker players

Sands closed down, and in Oct they will be imploding the old building for a new casino, that is owned by the Borgata parent company. That will bring a huge poker room to the boardwalk.

Casino action: I would stick to the "Total rewards" casinos. Like Harrahs, Ceasers, showboat and Ballys. It is hard to get decent comps in AC anymore, at least compared to the good old days, but using a total rewards card, you can carryover your comps to all the casinos owned by Harrahs.

Limits: Borgata is the highest limit place in town. Most days you will be hard pressed to find BJ tables for less then $50.00 minimum. On the flip side, the Hilton has the lowest limits in town, you can usually find a $5.00 BJ table, even on a Sat night.

Check out the water show at the Pier across from Ceasers. Worth the walk.

Trumps places are a shadow of what they used to be. They are constantly "re-inventing" themselves, and IMO they have failed every time. In the early 90's, Trumps places were the best in town, but those days are long over. The Plaza, Marina and the Taj are mostly slot houses, with very little attention, or effort, given to the table games player. If slots are your thing, then Trump is the place to go ;) . I personally don't like slots, so I usually avoid his places.

Entertainment: Borgata. They get top notch gigs. Going there to see Areosmith in Sept :D

If you are under 50, the shows on the boardwalk are most likely not for you :eek2:

Atlantic City always was, and still is for the most part, an old folks home with slot machines. The Borgata brought in a younger crowd, and places like the Trop and Ceasers kept up with the competition. The other casinos didn't. They still cater to the busloads of grannies from NYC and Philly, and they neglect everyone else.

Just my opinion of course!

if you are diamond you wont pay for a thing. go to totalrewards.com and log in. type in where and when you want to go.

One thing that I noticed at the Borgata:

If you hold a "premium" card such as diamond, etc.. at other casinos, they will upgrade your status there as well.

that's like quizno's sub. for a while they took competitior coupons (for $1 off your total) and had none of their own. not only do you not have to produce and distribute promo material, you also get to take business away from the competitors. very intelligent tactic!

good point. but i'm not a boyd properties fan plus i cant stand the young crowd there. never liked the place.

Laurie

Let me know when you go, maybe we can meet. Im less than 2 hours away. I always have a free room during the week in the summer every week and sometimes on the weekend in the winter.

Yes, 1819, I just don't feel the vibe at the Borgata, granted it is nice, but I dont like the stuffiness of the place. There are too many presumtious people.

Im just a Tropicana die hard Gal!! They treat me so well with money, shows, rooms, free parking etc.. and PLUS..they just remodeled the whole Place. I cant wait to see the South Tower next week!! If it's anything like the newly renovated North Tower, I will be so very happy.

FYI...if anyone does go to the Trop, do not get the "west Tower" It's a walk and a half to the casino!!! Havana Tower is more expensive but not worth paying more money to stay there, plus thats a long walk to the casino as well. North and South are your best bet. South Tower has the indoor pool with healthclub and hot tubs and North Tower has the outdoor pool. If you dont like kids, dont get the 6th floor at either tower. Thats where they put the kids because that is the pool floor for both towers

generally one can always get a comped room for a few days online by being diamond but the rest online is generally determined by your tier point level as a diamond with offers that sometimes include food vouchers, slot vouchers, table game vouchers, show tickets and somtimes some type of possible airfare reimbursement, etc. Still most full RFB decisions as well as additional comps are left up to your casino host based on play and they can comp, offer invites way beyond what is offered thru Total Rewards (online or off). Always good to have a good relationship with an onsite host and an executive host if your play warrants. Locally, if Laurie took the scheduled charter to AC she would avoid airfare and ground transportation costs which is not likely for most by going online even as a diamond. Sidenote:you reach the diamond level at 10000 points and remain a diamond until 100000 points where you become seven star so the range of diamond is quite large, marketing magic!

yea having a good host is golden. unfortunatly h e t properties have hired some real lazy folks who have lost the personal touch with gamers. i miss the days of being given the royal treatment just on a handshake. now it's all tied to those damn cards. many hosts have gotten in the habit of just looking at yout score and throwin whatever they feel at ya. lucky for me my card play alone is enough for whatever i want. i still know a few boys who will throw in the airfare or toss a few chocolate chips my way off the record. that goes a long way with me. it's not the money. it's the fact that they still care.

ALL VERY TRUE AND ISN'T IT SINFUL THAT IF YOU DO NOT ASK, THEY RARELY VOLUNTEER ANYTHING UNTIL ASKED (if it is beyond what you normally expect).........EX: I requested all my markers be discounted based on play, fortunately I got a yes, but if I do not ask/demand it never happens.........Moral, always ask and you have a chance.

Just got a nice coupon book

from Phila Park in Bensalem PA. I dont even know how they got my addy, but its all good. They sent me this:

Sept: $25 slot play, $25 off at the steak Grill, 2 free lunch buffets, $15 cocktails, One dinner buffet

PLUS

the same for October and November! Not too shabby since it's only about an hour away and we can eat and drink free

TOTAL REWARDS

Hi everyone,

I have been playing at Harrah's for at least ten to 15 years and am a Seven Star Player. It was only recently that I was told how much money you must mathematically wager in order to become Seven Star and that amount is 1/2 million per calendar year. To become a diamond player, you must wager 50K per year. For many years, the top level was the Diamond and then they started this Seven Star thing. To be honest, the difference in comps and perks between the two levels is hardly worth wagering 450K more.
For example, I am picked up and returned home by limo every time I go, but I had the same treatment as a diamond player. Here are your extra perks for being a Seven Star Player: 1) you get a free annual trip to any Harrah's property in the US or you can choose a cruise instead; 2} you get an annual gift from the Premium Selection catalog (flat screen tv, jewelry, etc.); 3) you always get a suite, with food and beverage (gourmet restaurants included); and you never have to wait on line for anything. Is this stuff worth a 1/2 million bucks...I don't think so!! For the person who is the Diamond Player, always, always, work with an Executive Host when planning your trip. Do not be afraid to ask for anything you want, ie, cigarettes, show tickets, air fare, transportation from airport to hotel, etc. As stated above, if you do not ask you will not get what you are entitled to.

In any event, I go to AC usually twice a month and stay for 3 or 4 days. If anyone is ever going, please pm me as I would love to meet some meister posters.

Hugggssssssssss,
Linda7

Loan Modification Training

Hey I'm new and I guess this is as good a place as any to see if anyone knows of a good loss mitigation training course?

I keep hearing about people making tons of money becoming foreclosure consultants.
So, If you have any info or you have purchased a good course, please share. I'm retired and looking for a home based business that I can earn a decent income with.

Thanks,

I called the Borgata to see when they are holding the WPT tournament for the 09/10 season. I was told they won't. This was from the poker room people!
