In '04-05, I was very much down. :( Let's just say, I have more free time to pursue other interests these days.

For me it changes week to week, month to month.
Overall I am having a very bad couple of weeks.
Even when I went to Atlantic City this Friday I took a beating
from Claridge and Bally's Casino's.
I have great weeks online sometimes where I have been able to
build up to $10k. It takes a LOT of money management, good choices
of games and long hours of playing and most of all, luck.
Video poker is my primary game - particularly Double Bonus and DD Bonus Pokers. These games have terrible cycles though so you have to know when
to quit for the day and when to vary it up with some of the best slots.
For me, these are the 5 line reels such as Flying Ace, Cool Buck, Fortuna, etc...
They're often good for a quick $300 hit which I then return to Video Poker to hopefully have some extra bankroll to pull out of the bad cycle.
I also only play at select Microgaming casino's which have proven to me
to be trustworthy and fair.

I also withdraw as I hit. I think it's VITAL to do this as poor money management will sink you fast. I keep $50 at a time in my active account. Anything over this gets withdrawn. If I tank the $50, I do reverse another $50 but I also switch games at that time. I continue banking everything I win over $50 always leaving $50 at a time to play with.
The thing behind this is that if you have $200 or more in your active account, and your on a game that is dead, it's easy to get "zoned" out looking for that win and very quickly use up your bankroll. With my system, if $50 tanks too quick, it's time to move to something else or take a break for a while.
In my many years of experience, you'll know a game is hot pretty early on.
The only one that is least predictable is Video Poker.

It CAN work (sometimes) and it has been the only way I have been able to cash out so much.
What I don't want is for any of you nice people to have to feel the pain of losing a lot of money and feeling the overwhelming anxiety over it.
PLEASE spend only what you can afford! If you feel yourself going overboard then deinstall the casino - it's not worth it. You can always have a "fake" account to use for play (not real money). I have one so if I just want to play without losing anything I use that. It is just as much fun - until a jackpot happens....then you wish it was for real :)

Other interests like ripping the clothes off of Mrs. Peel? Anyway, I hear ya Steed! Hope all is well!

BrianC.. I like your style. Makes tons of sense! I'm gonna try that again. I used to do that but 32Red was flushing my withdrawls so fast that it became a pain in the butt to reverse some of them. How's that for a complaint? They flushed it too quickly.

Hey Tim, if Mrs. Peel were a willing participant to allow me to rip her clothes off (and on a regular basis), I wouldn't be wasting ANY second on this earth doing anything that wouldn't involve Mrs. Peel. :p :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy

... (sigh) as Steed ponders the thought of NOT having Mrs. Peel by his side... :(

Anyway, I hear ya Steed! Hope all is well!

Thank you Tim, I hope you're doing well these days too. :)

I feel like I've stumbled into a bordello tonight, lol. :D

The thread/poll is only a few hours old so I added "Even Steven" for those whose wins make up for their losses - or visa versa. :D

Slots: way down!
Videpoker: Up!
Poker:Up!

Luckily I only play slots very low limit so my videpoker wins more than makes up for the loss at slots. I am trying to get rid of my 'slot-habit' since the payback (96%) drains your money way to fast. But since MG slots are so fun, I probably have to put some more money down the drain to see what the new Harvey's slot is like.

Roulette - DOWN (obviously)
Slots - WAY DOWN
Video Poker - DOWN
Black Jack - NEVER PLAYED
Poker - UP

i reckon i am down (over the 4 years or so ive been playing online) around 50000

Up

I play most games but more slots than anything else. It's been mentioned a few times here but the key is to not get hypnotised by those reels. The few times I have sat there thinking "it will hit soon because I have just done 100 spins and got sod all back" I lose. I always set a sum or number of spins in my head that I will put into the game before moving on (and maybe coming back if I hit elsewhere). that's why MG is my favourite, no other software oftens anything like the vast selection they have. At a guess over the two years I have played online I've made 10,000+ from bonuses mainly. I also use a Neteller debit card - everytime I get winnings I put at least 60% straight onto the card where it cannot be used for more gambling.

I used to play VP almost exclusively. Sometime early this year I got sick of losing so fast at VP so I starting mixing in slot play.

Believe it or not:
Slots -- up
VP -- down

However if both slots and VP continue to tear me a new one I will be down, down, down and out on all counts. Not a good way to start off a new gambling year.

i cant believe how many people say they are up online, id sure like to see what youve been hitting on the casinos :p

congrats if you are all up

I chose "up" as my answer because I have an approximate 90% return since I started almost three years ago. Sometimes I lose a few deposits in a row, but it's the overall return I consider as being "up" ... I haven't had to redeposit from my bank account for a long time, thankfully.

The fact that I almost exclusively use bonuses should probably be factored into the above, as well. :D

Yep, if the question was "are you a bonus hunter or not?" presumably the results would be about the same

Exactly the opposite! I had to considerably cut down my poker play because it was eating huge chunks out of my casino profits. :(

Many a true word...! I often seen to spend half my time 'compiling' or posting here at Meister's, and sometimes have to drag myself away & force myself to do some gambling! :D
I wish I was winning as much as Gramma though... in my dreams! ;)

Am a bonus whore most of the times so am UP:D
Is there any other way???

2005 was actually a very good year for me in casinoland - just done some more compiling:
Deposits = something like $18,000
Bonuses = approximately $12,500
Profit for the year = $4,700-ish.
Not enough to retire on - but better than a kick in the pants!

In the past two years, I lost $96 at Microgaming casinos on a turnover of $980000. As I got more than $96 in bonuses, I am ahead. :)
