Anyone else played Mass Effect?.

.

I am also a fan of those Mass Effect games, although they are not as good as Elder Scrolls Skyrim. I play on PS3.

I'm a great fan of MMORPG's in general but they are a huge time sink, I played DAoC and WoW for years, both were immense fun especially raid nights, but neither had an going storyline as such with an ending, which of course just wouldn't work in these types of game.

Mass Effect is completely different to any game i've played before - Earlier decisions will reflect on the outcome of certain events in the future, plus there is the sexual chemistry stuff going on also. Did you know that Blizzard - World of Warcraft, Diablo, Starcraft etc employ a team of writers for the lore aspect of their games, I find a good story a huge part of game play, the only other game I played with a storyline as good as Mass Effect was Halo, I will try Elder Scrolls next ;).

How far did you get into WoW?

I didn't start playing until Burning Crusade but I got REALLY into it, played solidly right through BC, then WOTLK, then Cata, and burnt out towards the end of Cata. Had a quick look in on the Pandas but realised pretty quickly that I was done with it.

Total playtime across all my chars was truly scary, but had some really good times with it, we had a great Manx guild on the go for a while too, and managed a reasonable amount of end-game raiding.

Some evenings the guildies wouldn't really be 'doing' anything, we'd just talk crap to each other in guild chat and maybe go off and lay waste to an old Vanilla raid just for fun.

Running heroics after 3am in the morning with a few mates, good times :)

I enjoyed Mass Effect 1 and 2 so much that when Mass Effect 3 was launched and they sent copies into the upper atmosphere attached to a GPS-tracked balloon, I spent a day driving into the countryside and hiking around a forest equipped with a GPS navigator. That was a fun adventure, almost like bringing part of the game into the real world :) And yes I managed to get a copy before it was released in stores.

Apart from the Elder Scrolls series I also recommend the Fallout series, great stories in those games too.

Actually, she plays WAY more than me :D
I can spend only maybe 15-30 minutes per week playing good ole Quake 3 / Quake Live, because I'm very busy with my new (Russian) affy website :D

I played from release until roughly 18mths ago choppy, loved raiding - our second week of raiding Naxx, just killed Sapph and about an hour later we killed Kel........

Remember South Park's WoW related episode and The Sword of a Thousand Truths?, I got that from Naxx - Slayer of the Lifeless. Our guild was global great bunch of guys and gals, ah the memories ;).

I was into PvP too (notice General rank from the honor grind days) our pre-made team didn't loose in over a year (will dig out some screenies).

I just finished ME 3 and the end was awesome, they should make a film based on this game ;).

Same as that Jinn, I fell in love with it, everything about it is pure slickness, I didn't know that Bioware released an extended end cut, so i'm doing the - Priority: Cerberus Headquarters and Priority: Earth London missions again :).

Nerf Warriors lol, me soloing the top bridge in AV (kinda solo, I did have 3 healers, but just look at what the dumb fcks are doing pmsl)..........

Heh :D

I have to say I never got deeply into PvP, although some of our guildies were.

I remember not long after Cata came out and we were making our way to the new BRD 5-man, and a guildy (Dan he was called) got there before all of us. (We were on a PvP server, so it was all PvP, all the time.)

'There's a few Hordies here', he said

'OK just wait for us, we'll be there in a couple of minutes', we said back to him on Teamspeak.

'Nah I'll just kill them all', he said.

And I swear, he killed about five of the bastards, all the same level as him, by the time we got there, it was just a pile of corpses. As the Hordies ressed they just ran away as fast as they could.

I would occasionally duel Dan, and every time he killed me before I could take more than about 30% of his health off him.

I do have some very good memories of the game :)

Did you ever get big into the auction house Seventh? I had a period of about a month where my characters hardly even left the cities, all I did was just play the AH.

I even did some cross-faction smuggling using Mrs Chopley's account, through the Booty Bay neutral AH. (I had a 'chain' of characters at the various locations to make it as efficient as possible.) Our server was really unbalanced (Horde outnumbered Alliance (we were Alliance) about four to one), so some stuff was insanely cheap on the Horde AH that was really expensive on the Alliance AH.

I had a particularly lucrative cross-faction caper going on with Arctic Furs for a couple of weeks until the markets stabilised across the factions.

PvP aspect is entirely different to PvE - NPC's are predictable and humans are not, but, saying that, there's always one tard standing in the fire lol, Warriors (nowadays suck at duels, we are so healer dependent) on release Warriors were awesome, if you ever get time check some Laintime PvP videos out - a Korean Warrior dude using abilities and crafts to the max, guy was a legend, I was a serial grinder so I spent a fair bit of time in the AH ;).

I started out on a PvP server and raid nights at Black Rock Mountain were carnage lol, remember this guy.....how not to lead a raid (don't listen if swearing offends anyone)........

Without giving away to much info regarding the end of ME 3, if anyone decides to play it on a PC, playing multiplayer will make significant differences towards it, ME 3 is all about the final conflict and building up your Effective Military Strength (EMS).

The ideal EMS target is 5000, this also gives you 100% readiness rating, this screenshot is just before the final two missions and I finished every single one including side missions. Multiplayer unlocks other Alien races and equipment, so if anyone is going to play ME 3 and wants to play multiplayer, give me a shout :).

No mass Affect but have been playing the shit out of black ops 2- that game is awesome, Ive already made it to 8th prestiege level and got diamond class for my sniper rifle and two semi's.

I had my son staying with me over Xmas playing this and Battlefield 3, Battlefield 3 and driving a tank / flying a jet fighter / chopper, in his gaming chair is awesome, games really have come on leaps and bound since the pong days lol;).

P.S.

Sniper rifle upgrades are a necessity, I spent 250,000 on Shepard's in ME 3 :eek2:.
