Ok, I just had a super-weird experience with my neck.

History: I've been having problems with my neck for several months now, thanks to being in a car accident....

But a few minutes ago, I guess I turned my head to the right apparently too fast and/or at the wrong angle or something, and felt an instant jolt of pain running from the base of my neck on the right side, all the way up to my jaw. It was only for an instant....

And now, I can turn my head all the way to the right as far as it'll go, and it feels perfect....???

....I haven't been able to do that for about 4 months now......and I wish I could figure out how I did that, so I could try it on the other side of my neck....:D

Does anyone know what happened?? I can't even call anyone to figure that out until Tuesday and it's going to be nagging at me every minute until then. :p

Mate I honestly coudlnt tell you nor would I want to on the account it is wrong advice.

Your symptoms are probably different to the normal so without proper consulatation I wouldnt even attempt to have a guess.

What IT SOUNDS LIKE- is nerves, possibly one of your nerves where notted or something and you doing that has fixed the nott or something.

Go back to the Dr you are seeing about this and explain it to him and see what he says..

ok :D im no doctor but i know when im looseing my patients so with that as
a qualifer id say you auto ajusted your out of alignment to some degree

but dont experament on the other side it will work its way back on its own y:D

my first guess before getting to sam_old's post was also perhaps a pinched nerve but definately seek a professional.

I am not a doctor, "But i did stay at a Holiday Inn Xpress" last night! :D If you had health care, you would not need to be asking about this here, Would you? So, I have to ask for Payment in advance before i tell you to stand on your head, in the corner, and try to twist your neck as far as it will go. :what:

Don't worry about that, "Snapping", sound you hear. Either it fixes it, and i am off to cash your check, or your dead, and thats what you get for taking advice from someone on the Internet, or a gambling forum......:D hehehe

Sounds to me like a pinched nerve
You have to seek professional help to diagnose what is wrong. You need to be seen by a doctor.
Like a cat scan,MRI,Xrays do I need to say more lol
And after that physical therapy.

The best for that is sex to help the nerves.
Or have 3 chinese women walk on your back they do wonders.

Hope you feel better soon winbig

Thanks, everyone :)

That makes sense about the pinched nerve part....

I guess I should have explained more, so here goes...

I actually just finished 3.5 months of physical therapy on Friday for my back and neck issues related to the car accident 4 months ago. I pretty much hit a peak there, and can even touch my toes again. :D

They gave me the option of continuing physical therapy there, or to keep up with the exercises they gave me at home on a daily basis to keep myself in shape; so I opted for the home treatment. :)

Since I still have pain issues with my back that doesn't seem to want to go away with simple exercises or ice/heat treatments, I'll be following up with a pain management doctor on the 15th.

I'll be putting a call in to my neurologist to see what her thoughts are about this, but she won't be in until Tuesday seeing as how Monday is a holiday...I just posted my question here to see if anyone else might know what happened. I hate playing the waiting game. :p

oh, and one more update - my whole neck is feeling better now, and not just that one side. They say that when you have both neck and back problems, that one may affect the other, so maybe my back problems will get better now....*crosses fingers*

:D

lol, I got pussy in the house, but I aint touchin it. Here kitty, kitty, kitty...

Take anything he offers you except for pain meds. Seems silly, right? Pain doctors offer too much pain meds and you'll be worse off bc you'll constantly want pain meds at higher strengths.

I have a 32 year old I'm having a time with trying to get her off the percocets and phenergan.

Opt for shots injected at his office once or twice a month if your back doesn't get better with the home therapy or use lidocaine patches on your lower back. Pain meds are destructive and abused by pain docs.

Some years ago, I had this friend hug me over the pews at our church and she snapped my neck. A couple days later I was in misery and couldn't sit, stand lay down or do anything for a couple weeks that made me feel better. It was so bad that I would pace and cry.

I started taking the hubbies back pain pills, didn't help. Then my doctor gave me my own, still didn't help.

Then I went to a chiropractor that took x-rays, he showed them to me, my head was just off my neck slightly and it was very visible. He was surprised by my condition and proceeded to put my head back in alignment with my spine. Now that was a nightmare in itself, but he finally popped it back where it was supposed to be. Thought he would snap my head right off.

During the next few weeks the pain subsided, but I had some weird sensitivity in my left arm from the irritated nerves. If I drove with my arm out the window, the wind blowing on it would hurt. This went on for some time, but finally went away as well.

I did have the neck pain recur once a year for a couple years, but not to that degree, maybe I had irritated the area that caused the re-occurrance. So, if you have done something that has religned you in some way, just be thankful for the relief and relax and enjoy it for now. It could be a sign that things are just improving and the therapy you are getting is helping.
