We've all heard them, whether serious or facetious, but most of them actually have answers, so why do people persist in asking them?
Which came first? The chicken or the egg?
Two answers. From a Christian standpoint, God created the animals, not the eggs.
From a scientific/evolutionary standpoint, the egg. The proto-chicken lays a chicken (egg) IN POTENTIA; it sin't a chicken until it hatches and becomes, well, a classified chicken. That first chicken lays the first chicken egg. Thus, the chicken, not the chicken egg came first.
Of course, not every egg comes from birds. Reptiles laid eggs long before chickens. Thus, the egg wins.
Why do we drive in a parkway and park in a drive-way.
Because 'park' here is two very different things; one a verb, one a noun and two completely separate things. The drive-way was once labelled because of the length, and once upon a time had to be driven along to reach the house. The parkway denotes the scenery (the park) not the act of stopping the car.
Are footballs really the primary use of pigskin?
No. The primary use of pigskin is to keep the insides of pigs INSIDE them
