Another really low email!

I'm unemployed doing what I can to find a job. I have sent my CV to a lot of places and today I got a reply I couldn't understand first.

The headline was RE:my CV
...and the rest looked like this.

We considered your resume to be very attractive and we thought the vacant position in our company could be interesting for you.

Our firm specializes in consultation services in the matter of bookkeeping and business administration.
We cooperate with different countries and currently we have many clients in Europe.
Due to this fact, we need to increase the number of our destination representatives' regular staff.

In their duties will be included the document and payment control of our clients.
Part-time and full-time employment are both currently important.
We offer a flat wage from 800 EUR up to 3,000 EUR per month.

If you are interested in our offer, mail to us your answer on [email protected] and we will send you an extensive information as soon as possible.

Why I knew it was a fake was because I got it to an email I never use when I send my CV, and who respond to a mail and ask you to reply to a new email address?

It is a little creepy and I know that there will be a lot of people that respond to them.

Yeah a lot of people will respond, and probably be asked for money too. despicable, such a shame that people fall for these scams, especially those who are really desperate for work

I have been getting emails about owing money for driving on a toll road without paying the toll. Now the strange thing is that they say they are from EZ Pass, which is who you pay for this stuff, and my son did get a bill from them in 2013 for not paying a toll. He was in my car so I got the bill. I paid the bill.

Now I am getting these spam mails. Pretty scary when you think that someone out there has personal details not related to the usual ID theft stuff.

After hearing on the news today that over a million personal user names and emails had been stolen by a Russian ring, just scares the bejesus out of me.

These are common money laundering scams targeted at vulnerable victims by organized crime syndicates who somehow extract peoples emails from other legitimate career websites and then send out these spam emails.

If you respond, they will convince you that you are helping them with their payment processing of 'special orders', and will ask for your bank account details so they can transfer small to large sums of money into your account. You will then be required to withdraw those funds, keep 10-20% for yourself, and send the remaining funds via a Western Union type portal, to an address they provide. Usually an Eastern European address.

You should ignore the email, and even pass the information on to your country's relevant cyber police authorities for further investigation and possible tracing.

It's a shameful and sickening practice, and the only guarantee, is that if you accept the offer, you will be tracked and contacted by the authorities at some point.

I've worked in law enforcement so have experience with this kind of thing.

I don't have that, and as I said it was to an email I never use for that kind.

They just send it like all spam they can to as many addresses they have, hoping that a few are stupid enough to not know it's a fake.
Luckily I'm always suspicious. I was just surprised since I've never got one like that before, or heard about.

Actually on some of the lower end job boards you'll find these types of things advertised like they're real jobs and sometimes they'll use the names of real people or companies. Once I saw one from this guy who was an artist, it had a link to his website and everything. But it was one of those, "I need some people from other countries to collect payments..." and so I wrote to the guy to let him know. He was really pissed that someone was using his name like that, he got them to pull the ad down and a couple weeks later he wrote me to thank me again for bringing it to his attention because he'd done some searching and this same ad was plastered on all these other job boards too.
