Hello,

So its finally happened to me... SM are pretty much the only casino i gamble with - i stick with £150 pm and have done for around 6 months. I literally played y/day lost the £150 with a single freaking bonus on 60p spins on Jammin Jars! FFS! that paid 1.5X! :D

This morning i get a lovely email below - for £150 pm - i dunno, is that a lot? I earn a fair bit or dosh well over the national average - I havent really even won in 2019 - may of made one withdrawal - normally get at least one cash out of a K or so a year. In addition to this, SM sent me an email 3 months ago saying they've limited me to £300 MAX PM (even though it was set at £150!)

Moral of the story is - I dont think i want to gamble slots anymore i bet well within my means, not really enjoying it - so i may just knock it all on the head and just do the lottery or something for that really big win, rather than just spend £150 for absolute nada.

Dear Mr Lewis,

I hope this email finds you well.

As an online casino operator, we have a duty of care with our customers. Thus, we need to assess your level of monthly disposable income. Please provide us with a proof of your main source of income of less than 3 months (pay slip, official notification letter confirming the right to benefits, etc…). Please specify in case you have several sources of income.

In order to be able to check your affordability and your disposable income, please send us the following documents:

  • Copy of a bank statement (dated in October and in PDF format) of your account *snip*
  • Copy of an utility bill from a public service (Internet, electricity, phone) dated within the last 3 months and showing your full name and address.
In the meantime and in order to prevent gambling related harm, we have set a monthly deposit limit at 30£ on your player account.

Please note that this measure will be reviewed once we have the requested information.

Thank you in advance for your understanding and if you have any question, do not hesitate to contact us back.

We look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience.

Regards,

Julien

Did you just cut and paste the email?
Because I read £30 limit, not £300

Right. So I decided to do it.

for abit of background I get paid my salary into account A then send money to account B which I play with.

I sent my PDF of my salary account which clearly shows my salary

they request PDF of account B which is what I play on. I don’t have the card reader to give this so i screen shot my funds match account A PDF so they can see the money going in. Along with an additional screenshot to match showing my joint account with mortgage paid etc

they then insisted I needed the PDF as my screenshot of account B didn’t have my name on it!? I refused. Saying my debit card photo used for my verification shows my name and account details to match the screenshot. I said everything I provided should be enough for SOW

now it’s being sent to a different department. Awaiting response

THis is now outrageous. They know my salary. Know my deposit limit. Can see I’ve paid my mortgage. Hell. They now know more about me Than my wife probably does!

if this is the state of SOW moving forward then the online casino trade in UK is done for.

Jammin' Jars IS just a scratchcard anyway...
(Has been proved on this forum)

I had a massive win on it more than a year ago now, and I've hardly played it since. Somehow knowing that it's all pre-determined puts me off, even though most modern slots probably work the same way.
Too high variance for me anyway, I prefer lower variance games like Play'N'Go ones where it's not so hard to get a decent win over x100.

Is £150pm a lot? I don't think so. But it depends on each person's circumstances, of course.
I don't quite know how, but I have ended up depositing €/£400 a time - very rarely more than once per month at the same casino. My last £400 deposit at Videoslots is now over £7,000 thanks mostly to Play'N'Go games

And the Source of Wealth bullshit is just that. But in the UK we just have to accept it.

Good luck with the lottery!
KK

God knows what state the industry will be in in a years time, very few positives have come out of the UKGC
antics
Think there will be a mass exodus from the UK for a lot of casinos, it just wont be worth the hassle with
increasing taxes ( they never go down) more regulations and the ever present threat of massive fines hanging over them if they
slip up, I will have to find a new hobby, wish I was fit enough to take up metal detecting again.

The reason i didn't even contemplate giving them that information was because a look at my account history would have clearly shown (some months only 10 pound deposits) that i am neither a RG or AML risk - so, to ask for that info, was just plain stupid IMO. Secondly, they're an average casino - had it been one of my favourites (that i would have poured huge amounts in chasing the D), then i would have had a think about it.

Hopefully still have the tuesday spins to get one last withdrawal out! :p

So I just simply got an email from them stating we need some documents. Please check it on our account to see what we need.

I log in and low and behold it’s the account statement of the account I can’t give.

done with it. It’s not source of wealth or proof of income at all. It’s just nonsense. I have proved source of wealth by telling them my salary. Anything else is moot.

I hope the rep reads this. Poor show.

30? Or 300?

well It’s now set at £30. Even though I cant deposit now til January. I don’t think I’m going to win this argument against them. Right or wrong. It’s down to their misinterpretation of the UKGC rules. The companies are just panicking and just covering all possible sides even when it logically doesn’t make any sense.
I’ll let this run til January and hope they see sense. If not I’ll take my £30 or £150 elsewhere.

like that is so fucked I would close my account at any casino that asks for personal shit fuck your not applying for a loan are you. feel bad for you guys from uk. only problem in Canada is finding a way to deposit with gigadat down right now only paysafe. skrill says iam not aloud to use skrill for gambling cause from Canada what the fuck else is skrill good for. to much.

Ahh good i think .... :eek2:

I finally managed to get into to sort out the final PDF they wanted, turns out Nationwide dropped the need for a card reader for online banking around 6 months ago but i didn't realise.

So i am now fully verified again! (They literally know everything about me now, someone will go rogue in one of the casinos and they'll be a duplicate me popping up everywhere!)

I haven't left it quite there though....

I have gone back to them and asked what is the maximum amount now you know my salary that you'd let me deposit then?
