Hi All,

We would appreciate your help in providing feedback concerning the age verification process involved to enable UK visitors to try out demo games. First Look Games have launched a suite of demo games provided by numerous software providers, which are accessible to players from the UK.

For details about this service, please see Free Play Games made available by First Look Games on Casino Gazette.

The age verification service is provided by 1account. What I would like you to do if you have time, is to visit this news article concerning the release of Popeye Slots over on Casino Gazette here - Popeye Slots from Vibra Gaming and at the bottom of the page complete the verification process, which will enable you to play Popeye Slots for free.

I have attached a poll to this thread and would really appreciate your feedback and of course comments on this thread, concerning the verification process and how easy / hard it is.

Many Thanks

IS this only aimed at UK players? I didn't see any age verification and had to enable Vibraslots cookies manually to be able to loaad the slot...

Certainly looks the part and sounds and graphics have a classic vibe..
Didn't want to spin any more as i'll rather wait for the real version: i only do freeplay if there's a reward involved or if i have to review a game, as i feel i'm 'wasting' any luck on it otherwise :D Typical gambler bs i know :p

Anyway, can't assist with the age verification in that case!

I play demos on playngos site and they use the 01/01/1901 method, I will never use a third party verification system to play a demo that is lunacy.

I have seen these age verification systems on many sites before playing demo games. I just switch on VPN and do it that way.

Would never hand over my ID just to play a demo game. Any system is liable to hacking at some point so you would expect spam SMS, e-mails.

Never witnessed age verification to play demo games tbh. The few sites I play at I’m verified so not sure if that’s the issue?

Just a FYI - The age verification only comes into play if you reside in the UK and have a UK IP address.

Personally there shouldn’t be a demo mode at all, unless it’s for those in the industry to test the games and review them.

the only reason IMO this is available to the public is to get them hooked.

if anyone wants to play slots fine, deposit your money and play, take the risk and chance.

apart from the above mentioned can’t see what purpose A so called demo mode serves?

Not happy about providing lots of personal information. I understand the need to verify age, but why need my mobile number and email address, they are not relevant to prove my age. I assume they link into the electrol register which is why they need name, address and DOB.

Lol are they having a laugh.

I get the idea of age verification.

But asking for name , address , DOB , mobile number and email address.

Yeah whatever sounds a good way of getting peoples full details. Sure a good way to get more texts and emails offering products.

And all this to play a popeye slot.

Maybe just me but if you are looking for adults why make a slot that is a cartoon style aimed at kids.

But no worries. Once they release the Paw Patrol slot i will give them the details so i can play it.

Like good old loyalty card schemes, where you go, what you use (card/cash), what you buy, when you buy - so much data :p

But yeah, not a mission i'm giving that over for the sake of hitting 1000x on demo mode. Never play demo anyway, don't see the point tbh, never have.

But this is no ordinary slot it is Popeye.

Bet when they bring Dora the Explorer slot out you will be registering quicker than Bonanza drains your balance.

Only it it's Megaways with a 750x buy feature and closely followed by Pingu 2 - The Penguins Revenge.

Actually having Spinach tonight for diner! (hard to source such greenery in Scotland, foodwise)

Definitely too much data requested to play a demo game, I think the BTG demo site requests a Facebook link or a gmail account, don’t know if this is actual age verification though.

Thanks for all the feedback it is most appreciated. Unfortunately, due to the revision last year of the Licence Conditions and Codes of Practice ( LCCP ) by the UKGC. As from 7th May 2019, all free play casino games have to be age gated for UK visitors.

Meaning, a proper and reliable form of age verification is required for all visitors who live and reside in the UK, should a site wish to serve them with free play demo games.

1account who provide the age verification for the free play demo games provided by First Look Games, provide this and the service they provide is compliant with the UKGC LCCP.

The feedback on this thread is being read by the team at First Look Games, who I am sure will comment on this thread in due course.

Thanks for all of the feedback so far. It's very useful. As News Hound points out, in order to play demo games anywhere online in the UK, by law these must be overlaid by an age verification gateway. There are different tools out there, all of which capture personal information and we have opted to integrate 1account's solution on First Look Games and route our game providers' demo games through it. For everyone's reference, what transpires in the process is a digital check against a variety of databases - the electoral roll being one as pointed out - to verify that you are over 18. Here's how it works:
You do not have permission to view link Log in or register now.
. What is certainly not sufficient with regards UKGC regulations is a simple date of birth entry if the site is aimed at a player audience. Play'n GO may get away with it as they're a B2B provider whose website principally targets an industry audience.

I appreciate entering personal information in order to play a demo game is not everyone's cup of tea, but it is the only way to do it going forward if you want to 'try before you buy' on casino games in the UK.

Vegasslotsonline uses Agechecked.com when going in from the UK - simple voters-roll / email verification combo. No mobile numbers - thankfully !

They haven't got Chocolates yet

I looked at 1account for age verification but they refused to tell me what they did with my customers data!! Seems like they keep it and I understand they are backed by russian porn money so no guesses where your client data will end up!!!

Wow! Awesome first post...NOT.

Are you going to back that statement up? Please do.

I am guessing you vape based on your user name and have come across 1account as a result of them being used on more on more vape sites to verify your age. I too have seen that article in the register published in 2019, I presume that is what you are referring to - concerning the under 18 ban on adult sites that has in fact not happened.

Like gambling and vaping, I guess another of their target markets is obviously the adult 'entertainment' market.

Presumably they also will have to comply with GDPR and all that entails, what with being a UK company. @tomgalanis may want to add more to this.

No a business that doesn't charge any clients for the service they are offering...... hmmm, not rocket science!
Ok, we don't charge for the Player Arbitration service here at Casinomeister. Explain the "not rocket science" please.
