CANBET SIGNS UP WITH MICROGAMING POKER NETWORK
IAS veteran to change over immediately
The Microgaming Poker Network signed up another new poker room this week as veteran online gambling site Canbet.com announced that it was switching to the network, which now boasts some 40 brands.
Canbet parent International All Sports (IAS) broke the news that Canbet was moving to Microgaming from Ongame, effective immediately.
Formed by Mark Read in 1996, IAS was Australias first licensed bookmaker and is one of the most recognisable names in Internet betting. Offering 24/7 access to betting on international horse racing, harness and greyhound racing, world sport and entertainment events, IAS extended its international racing and sports coverage to the UK following its merger with Canbet in January 2005.
The merger provided the company with the opportunity to extend its product range by providing an online casino and poker room through its UK business.
Canbet.com will use the Microgaming multi-language capability in continuing to target primarily European players. Players at the poker room will have access to one of the most aggressive tournament schedules on the Internet and the opportunity to win satellites to the worlds best landbased tournaments.
Mark Read, IAS, comments, The addition of Microgaming Poker Network to our range of industry-leading betting services, including our revolutionary new live soccer betting product, is a sign of our commitment to continue to provide players with the best in online wagering and gaming.
Roger Raatgever, CEO, Microgaming commented: We are delighted that Canbet.com have chosen to join the Microgaming Poker Network and we look forward to a long and fruitful partnership. Weve experienced a great first half of the year, signing up significant numbers of operators and expect to see this trend continue into the second half.
