I have been playing at SportNation for some time now.
After depositing (£25), playing and making a small(ish) withdrawal request (£100) on Tuesday evening. I was sent an email requesting basic KYC documents.
So, although I've probably sent those documents previously, considering how many years my account has been open and all the previous withdrawals I've made. I emailed my documents yesterday afternoon.

yesterday evening I received this email...

Dear Brian,

Concerning you account with username XXXXXXXX.

We are writing to inform you that we have taken the decision to close the above mentioned account.

Please find below the relevant paragraph from the terms and conditions in relation to the closure of your account:

4.2 Access to the Website is permitted on a temporary basis, and we reserve the right to withdraw or amend the Services we provide without notice. The Website is updated regularly, and may change at any time. You acknowledge and agree that the specific form and/or nature of the Website or Services may change from time to time without prior notice and we may cease providing the Services (or any specific features within the Services) to you at our sole discretion, without prior notice to you. If the need arises, we may suspend access to the Website, or close it indefinitely. We will not be liable if for any reason the Website is unavailable at any time or for any period but this shall not, of itself, preclude us from returning to you any money that is properly due to you. We will not be liable for any loss whatsoever arising from the cancellation of any Service.
4.3 We may terminate your Account, delete any Content and/or prohibit you from using or accessing the Website or Service (or any portion, aspect or feature of the Service) and return any money that is properly due to you at any time in our sole discretion if:

you are in breach of any of these Terms or we have a reasonable suspicion that a breach may occur;
you refuse or fail to comply with any reasonable request by us to provide further information in relation to you, including, but not limited to information regarding your identity or source of wealth;
we consider or reasonably suspect that you have used, or intend to use, the Website or Services in a fraudulent, unfair or bad faith manner or for illegal and/or unlawful or improper purposes;

we are required to do so in order to comply with our legal and/or regulatory obligations; or
we consider that the continued use of our Website or Services by you will, or is reasonably likely to, cause us material financial risk, harm or loss.

So I asked them to clarify what the problem was, and received this email...

Hi Brian,

Thank you for your message.

Your account was closed as a business decision in relation to the terms per the email sent regarding your account closure. We apologise for any disappointment this may cause, however the decision is final.

Kind regards,
SportNation Customer Support

So, I'm still none the wiser as to what I've done wrong.

They did, however, pay the withdrawal a few hours later

Going through this myself right now, I have always tried to withdraw when over-starting balance, was up overall once but was pretty much even. I have still not gotten my balance that was on this particular site going on 3 weeks now.

Did nothing wrong and while I was playing (winning at the time) they closed my account.

This is abolutely typical of betting sites, including the big bookies - arbitrarily closing accounts or limiting bet odds/types, or limiting bet amounts per transaction to piss-piddlingly small ones.

I can understand it being done for sports betting, where things aren't exactly random and inside information can circulate etc.
But I only play slots.
It just shows what pricks their management are.
They bolt a casino onto the side of a betting site, without understanding the differences

It's an awful situation but it's great this thread was posted as I thought I was the only one :(. It has helped knowing others went through it too, the joke is on the sites as I have had zero time to play anyway and with video slots suppose to be coming back for us in Ontario I have and will be set up on other sites for playing and I am very happy about that! :)

Happened to me with both Casumo and Guts. Casumo, I was in profit but only by a few hundred (after 4 years).

Guts claimed that they believed I was or may be part of a syndicate abusing bonuses. When I checked back, I had received 2 lots of 10 free spins (lifetime) but again was a few hundred in profit.

They analyse your behaviour and if you’re not the sort to give it all back and are pretty shrewd, your not viable to them. In the words of Corporal Jones, “they don’t like it up um”.
