Well all... I guess I just had to get this off my "chest" ...

As a lot of you know... I was a veterinary technician for over 12 years.
This is my "Beau" aka "Buddy".. he was raised with dogs and literally thought he was a dog! (Even today as we rode to the local Vet.. he stood up on his hind legs looking out the passenger car window as we drove there :) I KID YOU NOT!) He would follow me around outside.. hop in my car if the door was open, and was just the "coolest cat around" as all the neighborhood kids said.
All these years... with every move to a new location... He never, ever lost his way!
Today, I gave in to the inevitable.. and finally after months and months of his illness we made that drive. The past few weeks he was looking at me with big eyes full of love.. which also said "Mom.. I love you, but I'm old and I'm sick"
So this is my tribute to my "Beau" who gave me 18 wonderful, amusing, years filled with Unconditional and Irreplaceable Love!! :notworthy
(and thank you all for letting me share!) Rest In Peace Sweet one...

Mysticjoz so so sorry to hear news like this.
You have to look at it this way.
You gave the best 18 years:thumbsup: for taking care of a great pet.
They are our Family and we treat them like our kids.
Hmmm I think I rather have cats lol
Sorry to hear about your loss.
B-T

Aww mysticjoz, I am so sorry to read about Beau(Buddy)
Animals do become like our children and when they pass away for whatever reason, it truly feels like we've lost the closest thing to our heart.
You were blessed to have Beau for 18 years, that is for sure :)

((((((Mystic))))

I am so truly sorry for the loss of your little one. I can honestly say I feel your pain. It wont easy for you, especially in the morning and if you need someone to chat with, please feel free to contact me. Rich and I just lost our Vinny a few weeks back. We just adopted a brother and sister (Kingston and Rayna) and although we know noone will ever replace Vinny, it does sure help with the healing process to have a furry lil friend snuggle up to you while you are going through the mourning stages.

Here are a couple of pics:

1. Vinny (our sweet boy who passed a couple of weeks ago)
2. Kingston and Rayna

Babs, your cat on the right is a body double for my "felix the cat". He was the best cat ever. It's hard when we lose our cats, for many of us, they are "our" children.

I'm sorry for your loss too, mysticjoz. Myself, I lost Softie, my sweet cat of 19 years, last June. That last drive is always hard, knowing what is to come and your cat just acting as a cat (or as a dog in your case :)) I let Softie out for one last short outside adventure among the bushes before it was time to go. She is buried in my brother's backyard in her favorite blanket along with her favorite play feather and my eulogy to her. As I said recently to Hippo925, who also lost a cat, we can always find solace in that they had a good life in our love and affection for them while they were with us.

I also made that drive a week ago, fridge was 16 and it is such a hard decision when to take that ride wondering if your doing the right thing. I have another cat 19 and she is just lost without her friend. I don't know wheather to get a kitten or will she be upset at a new pet? I feel bad leaving her all day by herself. She's walking around looking out the windows and pacing the house looking everywhere for him my heart is breaking I don't know what to do. I'm so sorry for your loss I know how hard it is. Patti

I am sorry for your loss also patti... with my past experience and considering the age of your other cat I don't think a kitten would be a good idea right now.. your 19 yr old needs to mourn also... and there may be a huge amount of resentment if you "replace" her lifelong friend.
My dog is also walking around looking for "beau" and in time this will pass.
But to bring in another right now... could backfire and result in some serious territorial fights. (just consider that please and give your 19 yr old time)
When she is walking around looking for her friend.. pick her up and give her some extra lovin'

does it seem like sometimes our pets act better than our children? i always said i wish my kids had acted as well as my dixie dog!! he always loves me when im in a bad mood and when i feel bad hes right there checking on me. we dont give enough credit to our 4 legged family members sometimes imo. i do hope you will some day get another loving family member joanne as they are a blessing...............laurie

My Best Friend !!

Here's a pic of my little man, I don't know what I would do without him around, he has always been such great counsel to me, especially in all the important matters that I deal with on a daily basis...this is him with me in our office...:D

So sorry Mystic...I have had many cats in my 43 years. Three of them are sleeping next to me as I write this. The cat that meant the most to me was my Gideon. We got him when I was four and I had him until I was 24. That is a very emotional 20 years and he was with me the whole time.
We knew he was failing and we were ready to drive him to be put down but that morning he died in my Moms arms.
Couldn't ask for a better way for him to go. God Bless.

Thank you all for sharing so much love with me.
I can truly say my "Beau" was my love.. and he will always be with me in my heart and memories. He saw me through the loss of two brothers and with all this recent hardship was always, always there.

I do still have my girl "Ruby" ,,, who picks up anything on the floor or anything I drop.. (trained her to do so! here she is with her "service dog" vest).. Ruby has also been wandering around wondering where that big bad cat is that kicks her ars*,,, (truly)
and of course my two boys... who yes,, i do wish would act more like my pets sometimes...lol.

I am also thankful to have so many good friends as I do here and I thank each and every one of you for sharing this part of your lives with me!
