While working one of my jobs today, I decided to stop in and check my emails and messages on the forum. What a nice surprise to find a very nice greeting from Ed Ware of 32Red, and a very nice gift in my casino account. Thank you! Your timing was impeccable!

hey tim5ny how much do you think u have wagered with 32red, i have wagered alot but want to see when i can get these free gifts too lol

My intentions, as always, when I have given thanks on the public forum, was never meant to be with a bragging or an "in your face" attitude, as some may have interpreted it to be. Before starting this thread I knew I ran the risk of sounding like a broken record playing the same notes over and over again, but I said the hell with it! I just wanted to say thanks in a public way. If it makes you feel somewhat better... I blew it all on the slots and came away with nothing but a good time and some fine entertainment. ;)

I have no idea how much I've wagered Zman! Probably less than even KK (if that sounds possible) :D [just kidding KK... I'm still jealous over your 5- Spring Break symbols]

Ed Ware, to his credit does keep half an eye on these boards. In his position I would do exactly the same- bung some money to people I knew a) are going to lose it and b) are going to rave about it.

Cheapest advertising around

Count me in on points A and B  , and say whatever you want about me... but I really take offense when you discredit Ed Ware's motives and intentions when you know nothing about the man. 32Red is as solid as the Rock of Gibraltar that it sits on.. and in no way does it need my kudos to keep it afloat.

Why is it discreditting Ed Ware? Anyone in his position would do the same thing. At least it shows he's sharp enough to act in the best interests of his casino - a lot of the casinos out there could take a few tips from him!

At best his intentions are to encourage you to play and lose more at his casino. Surely you don't think he gave the bonus out of the goodness of his heart? :D

Exactly - and if I were a Microgaming casino operator I'd do the same: identify a poster who'd sing my praises every time I bunged 'em a freebie, and just go on and on bunging 'em freebies and taking the free advertising. Manna from heaven - and neat icing on the cake that the money never leaves the casino coffers.

Ed would have to be a flat out pea-brained idiot not to capitalise on this.

I anticipate many more such postings. Happy player, happy casino.

Keep up the good work, the pair of you.

:)

Well,at least 32 Red is going in the right direction so there is nothing wrong with Tim in his praises about this casino. Golden Riviera and Bellerock casinos, also MG, are going the opposite direction. We dont want to see more of these,do we?

Hello Caruso and Vesuvio! I've been gone for a 24 hour work shift, so I haven't been able to read your submissions to this thread until this morning. Firstly, I'd like to say that I appreciate your input as always, and that I can totally understand the point of view from which you are presenting your opinions. Having said that, I feel that I need to shed a little more light on the circumstances involving this gift given me by Ed Ware and 32Red, in hopes that you will see the errors in your way of thinking, and I will do so even at the risk of discrediting myself a bit. Ed Ware and I have a history that goes back a few years, and I was pretty much a regular player at 32Red since I had signed up with them at that time. During that period of time, I got into playing way over my head, and after a few months of spending alot more money on gambling than I should have been, Ed contacted me with great concern that maybe I should slow down a bit, and perhaps that I should step back and take a good look at what I was doing to myself. That was a good wake-up call for me because I was certainly getting out of control. Soon after that, Ed and I decided that the best thing to do was to set a spending limit for me so that I wouldn't get myself into any trouble. Now to bring this whole thing relevant to the current thread, this past week I asked Ed to give me an increase in spending limits due to the fact that I have had an increase in salary, and also in light of my perfect record of never making a deposit that I couldn't fund. Ed's decision was to deny me an increase in depositing limits for now, but he also said he would reconsider it at a later date. He was also concerned that my feelings may have been hurt by his decision, and for compensation for his denial, he said " I have put a nice gift in your casino account for any hard feelings I may have caused!" There aren't any hard feelings of course, and the man is truly a Gentleman. His concern was for me in this situation, and not for his wallet. So now you know a little more about me than I had wished to reveal.. but more importantly, I hope you know a bit more about Ed Ware. Thanks guys!

Tim...
That was one of the most honest posts I've ever read.
I have NO idea what you do for a living but, you expressed yourself in a complete civil manner.
You got to the point with out any rash overtones ... which I mostly would have done.

Thanks for your honesty and good luck to you my friend!

Leave him alone tim5ny.Seems everyone wanna have a shot at KK.....poor KK :(

:D

P.S (Great post tim5ny.My respect for Ed has been elevated to a new level after your post)

Tim5ny - sorry, sounds as though I had Ed's motives wrong - though as I said it wasn't a criticism of him even if he was giving the bonus for the most obvious reasons. I'm glad at least one casino seems to take gambling problems seriously & I hope you can keep everything under control!

I'd recommend just PMing your thanks to Ed in future, but I understand you were pleasantly suprised and wanted to spread the word

Gfostas, I really enjoy having KK around. He's quite a colorful person, and his wit and humor have many times had me chuckling in my seat. Best of all though, I'm a really big fan of the Kasino King and Slotchick show. When those two go back and forth, there's never a dull moment. :)

I don't understand what is all this buzz about 32 Red

Personally, I wasn't impressed with 32 Red at all. About 3 weeks ago I played
there for the first time, managed to successfully lose $2000 with no bonuses, because I did not like the bonus terms for BJ and video poker. After that I asked if I could be eligible for Club Rouge membership and got standard answer that before a player is invited to become a Club Rouge member they want to have some history with the player. I answered back if they can consider my sizeable deposit, no bonus and extra almost $180 that I spent on instacash in Neteller which almost any other microgaming casino accepts as deposit method but 32 Red. The answer was that she was not in a position to upgrade my account and she will forward the details of my account to the Club Rouge Manager who will then review my account taking all of the factors I mentioned into consideration.
After that I never got any response from anyone and no offers besides monthly $32. So, to make my point, for US based customers it's probably better to play in VPL or Fortune Lounge where customer service is just a phone call away, also very friendly and they accept Instacash and bonuses even better than in 32 Red.

LOL I know !! I miss the little pauper!! :)

Wow, that is some story Tim! Thank you for that honest and informative post. I must say that it is not everyday you read about casino operators taking an active interest in one's gambling - unless you're winning alot of money from them.
I also very much like 32red. I seem to always win there more than at other MG casinos - prolly because I play there more :)

Great post Tim!

Very useful post, Tim; thanks for that.

This gets to the core of one of my two gambling hates - "deceptive" advertising (the other, closely related, is system bullshit): Tim has, or at least had, a serious gambling problem, to the extent that he had the casino manager of all people calling a halt - though kudos to him for so doing. Tim is substantially poorer through his acquaitance of 32Red, Microgaming, online casinos and gambling in general. At the stage that the manager went so far as to pull the plug on Tim to save him from himself, I'll take a guess that Tim wasn't an overally happy fellow and quite out of control. Gambling has cost him dear.

Though Tim did not set out to mislead anyone, these threads, pre-"confession", present a very different picture: we have an image of a positive, gift-giving, benevolent medium with no hint given of the truth of the matter - that Tim has had his guts sucked out through his association with online gambling and Microgaming.

This is, for me, the disgusting duplicity of the gambling industry: pretty veneer of harmless wealth-creation covering the reality of financial ruin. Anyone who thinks that's an exaggeration, read Tim's post: he was out of control, and would have most likely pissed away everything he had if the manager hadn't called a halt. The reality is, these pretty little icons on our desktops destroy people.

But hey, slots, baby. Let's keep dem winner screenshots a-comin'.

There is no "advertising" going on in this thread. And nothing deceptive going on as well. If you have a real problem with 32red (obviously you do since you tend to railroad every thread when the name pops up), then PAB and I'll give it top priority.

To berate casinos because they are just that - a casino - is tiresome. If someone has a gambling problem, they should not be gambling.

Same goes for smokers - smoking fucks up your health. If you're in bad health, you shouldn't smoke. But look at the cigarette advertising - bitchin' looking people doing really cool things. Tell me that ain't deceptive. I think people who smoke look stupid (sorry smokers :D). And I bet I could outrun, out-jump, out-anything physical any smoker who is half my age. Read the friggin' label - tar and carbon monoxide are sucked into your lungs with each inhalation!! It's staring you in the face!

And if you can't handle your booze, you shouldn't drink. When have you ever seen a beer commercial depict someone totally wasted??

Keeping this in mind, do you think someone from the tobacco industry, or a rep from your local brewery would call you on the phone and state their concern that you're buying too many cigarettes or cases of beer? I don't think so. For 32red to contact a player voicing their concern speaks volumes.

I am also privy to other instances of player concern as well. Ed Ware is not the only operator that considers their players as human beings with lives and families. I'll be sharing one of these stories in this week's newsletter. It's rather mindblowing to say the least.

Lest we forget, this is an entertainment industry - but if you can't handle the heat - stay out of the kitchen. I find it sad that Caruso tends to perceive so many things with so much negativity. Jeeze, man! Don't be so damn cynical.

And yes, keep the winner screenshots coming - that's what it's all about isn't it? - having a good time.

And then there is the "screenshots that suck" thread; this should be viewed often as well.

*shakes his head in disbelief at what he just read* I find it both amazing and laborious Caruso, that you have once again taken a few choice words from my post, and have rewritten the whole story to suit your agenda whatever that may be. To begin with, you don't know me or anything about me other than what I have revealed to you, so to portray me as some poor sap throwing away everything in my life to have another spin on the one-armed bandits is not only ludicrous, but an inflammatory accusation of my character!........and for that, I will not sit idley by and watch you tarnish my reputation, nor the reputations of Ed Ware, Microgaming, and the online casino industry as a whole. Let me tell you first of all a little bit about me before I proceed to straighten out the mess that you have made once again concerning other matters as well. I have an excellent profession in which I have maintained and excelled in for nearly 20 years, which more than abundantly supplies my financial needs. My home, my cars, and all my toys were all either paid for in cash, or were paid off early, and my daughter attends one of the most exclusive private colleges in New York.... at my expense. So let's put this portrayal of poor Tim in the gutter without 2 nickels to rub together to rest once and for all. Secondly, no matter what a man's income or wealth... excessive ANYTHING is not a healthy lifestyle... and that includes gambling, even if one can afford it! When I began to play online a few years ago, I must admit that I was like a kid in a candy store, and being single as I am, I have alot of free time to do whatever I please. :) At that time in my life, my foremost pleasure (besides beautiful women) was the casino... and as the hours and days passed, and the deposits racked up, this must have raised up some flags of concern to Ed Ware who makes it his job to know his players on an individual basis. I think the greatest danger I was in at that time, was that I was neglecting my friends and social contacts to the point that we began to have less and less in common with one another, and that's not a healthy thing, especially for a single guy. As I've stated in another post, Ed and I had decided that a spending limit would be the best way to get me some time away from the keyboard, and I feel as though I've been back on track ever since we did so back then a couple of years ago. Gambling is entertainment! Affordable entertainment! and entertainment doesn't mean every day anymore. Let me conclude this by once again stating the obvious.. although it is apparant that the obvious is never obvious to Caruso, that Ed Ware has treated me as I believe he would treat any man or woman who would just take the time to get to know him by dropping him a line and striking up a repoir with him. Ed has stated that he is "obsessed" with bringing the best online experience to his players, and I can attest that he lives up to these words... and not only to me, for I'm nothing special, but to many other players as well. Tim

And let's not forget my "Nightmare screenshots" thread, as well.

Tim is not advertising for 32Red, but in the first place I'm not speaking that literally, and in the second my comments relate to the matter in general, not just this matter. In terms of not-literally, while there is clearly no banner saying "clickity-click here" in any of Tim's posts, ANYTHING which talks up something is an implicit advert. I'm not talking paid advert: anything. If I talk up Intercasino, I consider this a form of advertising. "Caruso says Intercasino is the tops"; baby, that's advertising or I don't know what it is. The word is probably badly chosen, but you get the point.

To be more precise on this matter: Tim says "I got home from work and found a lovely gift from 32RED waiting for me"; true enough, can't accuse him of lying. What we DIDN'T know was that this was a problem gambler talking! In fact, without his creditable honesty we STILL wouldn't know it. Tim has lost a lot of money here, but we don't (or rather, didn't) get that, only the bonus bit. Tim is not trying to deceive anyone, but deceptiveness there inevitably is because we only see a fraction of the picture.

I agree with you on all the comparable matters you cite. I don't single out gambling, but this is a gambling site. If I ever chose to frequent a smokers' / drinkers' site, I'd say exactly the same I think. I just have no interest in those matters, but of course the deceptiveness is identical. Gambling is no worse and no better. At least with gambling you only lose your money; but then, gambling can affect mental health, so - swings & roundabouts.

And yes, I acknowledge the evidence in this thread that Ed is a good fellow. From my private exchanges with him he seems an honest, genuine chap as well. I don't know what leads you to think I have any payment issues - you can be sure you'd have heard by now if I had, LOL.

My response to the "nagativity" suggestion is: I'll retract anything I say that is unfactual or not reasonably arguable. The fact that something is negative does not invalidate it. Deceptive advertising pisses me off, mainly because there is always going to be some mug who'll buy into it. And be sure the TV ads along the lines of "I consolidated all my debts with Shark's Direct Loan Company and at the end I had enough to take my family on a Caribbean holiday!!!" pisses me off even more.
