Surely they cannot do this sort of thing, more so in the UK with all these new UKGC regs etc??

Ladbrokes don't even have MGS and haven't for a long time :confused:

Speaking to the press at the time, a Ladbrokes spokesperson said*: “We’ve never known a luckier punter. It is a truly incredible win. He was playing in the early hours when he struck gold.”

*= Lied and clearly doesn't know much about his company's product.

I'll stop there.

Ladbrokes is an ethically challenged casino and reviewed here at Casinomeister.

Doesn't have a time stamp Jon...you sure this happened recently? The last Mega Moolah jackpots were all far higher than the 2.6mil.

But this is not a Ladbrokes advert? The Ladbrokes spokesperson was most probably the figment of imagination of nativeads365.com

Its from my email providers home page mate, Yahoo Mail.

Showing today on the "News Feed" after signing out of my mail box. Just happened to catch my eye.

Not sure how these things work, hence the reason for the thread, possibly harmless but would be nice if their information was even slightly factual lol ;)

Ladbrokes used to a Microgaming only casino, so the article is correct but it's a poor choice of marketing all these years later.

Similar to the way 32Red advertise on Sky News every day saying "Casino of the Year" yet in the small print say *CasinoMeister 2014. Misleading as it's no longer relevent.

In neither case are the claims relevant and are years out of date. I'm surprised that they are allowed to get away with this shite. 'Casino of the Year' infers that it's an award presently active or has been at sometime in the last year NOT a historical award. Bit like Leeds Utd. advertising 'League Champions' and in the small print *in 1992* Totally misleading and will be booted as soon as it's challenged via the ASA. Ladyboys DID have this winner back in 2012 before they went Playtake:

Not surprisingly, the Ladbrokes player is from the United Kingdom – the Midlands, to be exact.

Upon opening their account, the player immediately opened the Mega Moolah slot machine. They then chose to make a spin for £0.25, and the unthinkable happened: the spin resulted in the player reaching the progressive jackpot bonus round, and resulted in a win of the £2.6m Mega Jackpot.

“We’ve never known a luckier punter,” said Ladbrokes Casino spokesperson David William. “It is truly an incredible win.”

So two casinos, one a giant and one a wannabee giant have BOTH misled the public with out of date BS adverts. Says it all about their ethics and greed. :(

First word on the right hand side of the pictures, if it says sponsored it is nothing more than an ad.

I appreciate that, its the CONTENT of the ad which is out of order.

Ladbrokes ditched MG years back, fair enough make a BS "Winners Story" sound good but if it's showing on today's feed, at least make it up to date and relevant to the providers available on the site.

Small case scenario but a player signs up, deposits £100 to have a punt at Mega Moolah and discovers its not even there!

Alarm bells would ring for the lesser experienced and some may not even be able to get their deposit back upon making this discovery if they've accepted any form of SUB.

100% player not at fault but yet they find themselves immediately at a disadvantage!

Yes, enforcement of regulations regarding online advertising sadly doesn't appear to exist and even worse is that it is some Ladbrokes affiliate doing it, meaning we can't even have it dealt with through a casino rep on here:(

True, but in the case of the 32red TV ad which proclaims 'casino of the year' then has in small print at the bottom of the screen Casinomeister 2014 I'm pretty sure it contravenes advertising rules (I'm no advertising lawyer but common-sense would decree it's wrong) as the fact or claim is not relevant at the time the viewer sees the ad. One example you might see would be say "VW Polo Which? magazine car of the year 2016" in other words the advertiser is the PRESENT holder of that award at the time of the ad or the claim is relevant to the year the viewer sees the ad in.

yeah this is a sponsored ad paid for by labrokes as a marketing scheme to be put on the front page of yahoo to entice people to sign up because of this random person amazing luck. Cause you know, who knows, it could be you next!

The Casinomeister 2014 award is redundant and should certainly be disregarded.

That's like me stating I was 'Fight Night Champion' at a previous place of work, a game often played by staff as customers looked on in bewilderment and my extraordinary combos.

I still hold the belt as well, albeit if it was about 10 years ago

They are also tracking where you go on internet and choose ads accordingly.
So if you've searched for sofas on internet all the ads for a while will be tailored to places selling sofas. Etc...
