Hey everyone,

I am curious to know. I am kind of in debt. I researched some premier league matches this weekend and hit a rather large ticket. I couldn't spare much but I put 7 quid on the ticket and won around 1800 pounds in 888casino. I was verified before I hit the ticket. I was able to withdraw the money and it is "Awaiting Processing" But I got an email soon after I won the ticket to Verify my account and take a picture of my card (front and back). The thing is I don't have my card. I thought it was somewhere in my apartment but I am scared I have lost it. I called the bank today and will receive another plastic of the same card next week. My question is: Is this an automatic email even though I am verified or will the withdrawal get rejected and if it will be rejected can I wait until next week to verify my card?

Hmmmm. Whilst 888 are not in favour here at Casinomeister ( see here ) - sending a photograph of your bank card is standard practice as part of the verification process. Unless it has changed since I stopped playing.

FYI 888 may well be in the rogue pit here, but as a UKGC licensed operation, they have to abide by UKGC regulations.

You ask if the email was automated, the answer here is "probably". You ask if your withdrawal will be rejected, the answer here is more clear, yes. It's not all lost however.

As Webzcas says, it's industry practice to verify the card used belongs to the person registering the account. Unfortunately there are types of players who will use false details to register an account, particularly when there are bonuses and free bets up for grabs. The easiest way verify account ownership is by asking for a scan of the card.

You *might* be able to verify ownership a different way if you don't have the card to hand. E.g. if you could provide a bank statement in your name showing the deposits in to 888, that should suffice. I can't say for certain what their acceptance criteria is however.

Side thought: If your bank re-issues your card, I am pretty sure they will give you a different card number. Otherwise if someone finds the card they will be able to use it?

Anyway, it sounds like from your opening statement about debt, that you really shouldn't be gambling. I don't want to be "that guy" who tells you how to spend your money, but PLEASE set a low deposit/loss limit which suits your budget, especially when/if the big payout is paid. Wins like this are VERY rare. Trust me, I know.

Hey Mark, thanks for your reply. I will get another copy of the same card because I asked for that and I said I threw it away by accident. I have already verified my account with Bank statement and passport. And that's why I was curious after I got the email that I was verified and am able to withdraw which I previously couldn't that they required further details for verification even though I am already verified. Regarding the debt, it's student loans and I am happy to say I don't have a betting problem My friend made some money on premier league matches and I watch every game so I made one ticket with less than 10 pounds with very high accumulator. I also have a good job after school, I've been browsing through these forums and I understand and appreciate the concern. You are a good guy.

If you have not sent in photographs of the card you have used to deposit at the casino, the casino is within their rights to request such, even if your account has previously been verified.

You should be fine then if they're sending a duplicate card. Just make sure you hold out until it's delivered, don't be tempted to play any of the funds back.
