The One Armed Bandit by Yggdrasil - possible 8,000x for a 5OAK!!
Trolls Bridge 2 by Yggdrasil - a mechanic we've seen a few times before.
Untamed Wilds by Yggdrasil - Base game fun and frolics, not too volatile. :)
The Great Chicken Escape by Pragmatic - feathered fun to get stuffed on.
John Hunter and the Book of Mystery by Pragmatic - why, oh why? :(
Wild Rails by Play'n Go - some potential, off the beaten track.
Rich Wilde and the Tome of Madness - terrible slot, bored witless very quickly. :what:
Cash o Matic by Netent - masters of the useless animation revert to type!:mad:
Scribes of Thebes by Merkur - yeah yeah, I effed-up, was in the first video too.

Go figure as Pragmatic Play changed on Friday the name for the John Hunter game. Wondered why they released the demo link under the old name.

And at the first look I thought it is a Megaways engine. They called it so creatively Pay Ways.

Well, they can have a whole series of John Hunter or Rich Wilde after all.

John Hunter and the Giant Fatberg
Rich Wilde and the Hollowed Out Book
John Hunter Behind Bars
Rich Wilde and the Diane Abbott Mystery
John Hunter and the Naughty Runes
Rich Wilde - Trail of the Zebra Spoor

The funny part is that they cloned not just one but two slots: Bonanza and "Monty" Montezuma.

The Great Chicken Escape is a blatant Blueprint clone too... They don't even try to hide it

Untamed Wilds seems to be the follow-up of Seasons. And well, the original Trolls Bridge is the follow-up of Golden Fishtank. They didn't even care to give the 2nd Trolls Bridge a fancy name. Tell me the last time you had a 200x or more on an Yggdrasil, let alone the 8000x nonsense of The One Armed Bandit

Scribes of Thebes is a clone of the landbased Book of Ra deluxe Two Symbols game. It also gives 15 free spins when you trigger the feature. Novo don't have that one online so pretty clever of Merkur to give us an online version but they're not the first one to release one of those, there's also Book of Gold Double Chance by Playson.

I spoke to Pragmatic and one of the reasons for these two games (The Great Chicken Escape = Blueprint feature-rich slot and John Hunter.... = BTG Megaways + WMS Monty free spin mechanic) is that those providers are restricted in many countries. The list is simply staggering, especially for Blueprint and WMS, there are maybe 50 or 60 countries left that can play the games, might be even less.

Many players from those restricted regions would love to play this type of games but simply can't. So Pragmatic is giving them the opportunity, which I think is not all a bad thing, e.g. they did not infringe any patents.

The games actually play well and kudos to the math people on figuring out the Megaways mechanic which in itself is not covered by the BTG trademark because it is basically a mathematical formula.

I didn't think it through like that, that's actually pretty smart then! Not really a fan of the Blueprints myself which is why I am so negative towards them but it makes sense.

@dunover

Well done mate as I had a few goes at One-Armed Bandit and it is quite a high variance but not tight in getting 1 spin big hits. If you are lucky enough to get the bonus round as I did on the 4th session, then you might get a decent hit. I ended up with 330x my initial stake of 20 Thai Baht. (.0.67 USD) on just the bonus round and was happy with that.

My first session yielded a 100x my stake win on the second spin with a couple of x5 wilds lining up. I didn't stick around much longer that time. The next two sessions ended in losses but nothing heavy. The game at this moment in time seems to pay 10x to 50x normal game hits quite a bit. Then long dry spells.

My final session was about 30 spins of nothing then the bonus round hit with a win of about $230 from a bit of 20 baht or around 67 cents. Personally, I like this game much more than Dead or Alive or DOA II as there is a lot more variation. There is a chance at getting the bonus round as long as you get one scatter. Plus the scatter itself gives you a respin and it turns into a 5x wild. A lot of chances and variation to at least have hope for a decent win.

I failed to mention on my previous post about the multiple in the bonus game which can go up to x50 and beyond. I was lucky to get that to x10 but the potential in the game is pretty huge. Normally I stay away from Yggdrasil as they are big on features and horrid on payouts. I believe this slot is different in that regard.

Regarding the following mentioned in this thread:

John Hunter and the Aztec Treasure

I normally like Pragmatic in specific their 5 Lions slots and Aztec gems along with a few other. Pretty low payouts though but they hit a lot. I use their games for hit and run reloads. I tried out out the newer John Hunter and the Aztec Treasure, it's just like their other games. I was able to get 3 bonus rounds (no shocker there) as their games tend to have a video game feel to them. Using the stop feature can get you a lot of extras but ultimately you end up with dick. This was the case for me as I ended up only about $25 with the bonus rounds getting low returns.

Rich Wilde and the Tome of Madness

Never again, what a piece of garbage. Play n Go used to give decent wins now they have turned to pathetic.

Cash o Matic

My first session I got over x100 only because of the bonus round. I've played it 4 or 5 times since and got next to nothing. No bonus rounds and walked away losing each time. This is one of the more boring games with no imagination whatsoever IMHO. Good luck getting a bonus round as I barely got mine and it was crap in terms of payout.

I played this quite a bit following a chat with a friend. I like the way the game plays but found the scatter wilds rarely hit when dropping in (maybe just my experience, prob 200 spins maybe in a few different sessions), also dont be dissappointed if you land all the scatters in one hit. My pal sent me this:

His message read: Gutted, how de f@>*! is that and 18.25 win lol

If you look at the barrels none are filled. These all dropped in one hit and paid him £18:25?! Unsure this will take budget from anything else I play but I hope to be proved wrong.

Thanks for the reviews again, these are a weekly watch for me now @dunover

@dunover Each time I watch your game reviews I have a little tickle on the ones I fancy.

Just tried John Hunter @ 20p's and did just over £11 in about 100 spins. Was just about to come out (aint that sometimes the way?) and the bonus dropped. Played through a load of spins before hitting the biggest one which was about £8. In total got £37.75 so not bad eh? Could have been so much bigger, had some repeats on x10 but no sugar.

Ive changed my like to a thanks. Ill do that each time I get a win from your reviews. Might even have to start profit share if this is on the public eye too much ;p

Bloody hell, I'd be fuming with a taunting spin as your pal had. That is brutal beyond belief especially with a cheesy payout of 18.25 pounds. The big win x100 spin I had was only two x5 wilds with 3 main symbols.

All it takes in a bonus round is one wild coupled with 4 main symbols with a x10 multiplier and you get close to 100 quid, in my case about 4000 Thai Baht. This slot is definitely worth a try and I hope the payouts don't diminish over time as other games seemingly tend to do.

Good luck my friend as I hope you get a good hit as I did. The scatter wilds don't drop in that much, in fact, I got my bonus round from 1 at a time during respins finally two on the last respin.

I also appreciate the efforts of @dunover only discovering his channel the other day. I've watched a few of his videos so far. Luckily he replied to one of my threads otherwise I might not have found it.

Thanks!

You should have got a lot more dosh with 63 spins, that must have been a bit nerve-racking. I had a similar experience in that blasted slot. I believe mine was 45 spins with an earth-shattering total of about $30 dollars with a stake of 20 Thai Baht or 67 cents.

Can't say I'll play it again as I've played a lot of Pragmatic games over and over. Most of them tend to goat you into "thinking" you'll hit it big when you never do even when betting higher stakes. Probably the most experience I have with any developer is with them. One of the first casinos I joined for slots was dominated with their games.

By the way, I did make a screenshot of one of the hits on One Armed Bandit with a weak symbol but it was still was $20+ USD on a 30 cent stake

I am the same and I rarely play Pragmatic as they seem to do less than some others i play but I have seen some decent winning screenshots. Yes, I did expect a lot more, after about 50 spins i was on about £27 and was thinking 'what a load of pants' - if you look at the thumbnails I had lots of x10 respins that did naff all. Cant remember ever making over £100 on any bonus of theirs. Still, not grumbling, got profit and made bank luckily enough.

I did look at your thumbnails and was amazed at how many spins you got on the wheel. Mine kept hitting 5 extra and one 15. This was mostly during one bonus round mind you. I got additional bonus rounds during that session with no extra spins. I'd say 6 months ago or so Pragmatic would give you pretty big wins as I got x100 to x300 bonus rounds constantly. Now it's a struggle to get x100 except on maybe 5 Lion. However, that slot does not give bonus rounds that much.

5 Lions the original (High volatility) is worth playing as you can get monster hits during regular gameplay. The random multiplier comes into play if your win includes a wild. I've hit x100 even x300 several times. Also, the jackpot feature hits from time to time but only the minor one for me at least.

Yes, way too many to remember. For lower volatility but a chance for big wins on the bonus round 5 Lions Gold is good too. No multipliers in regular play though. One good thing about Pragmatic is you can tell if you are going to have a good session as they always hit early. I play them for "hit and run" bankroll bolstering mostly. Their best slot by far to get a big hit quite often is Aztec Gems. I've gotten probably more money out of that game than any other. The key to that one is adjusting your bets as you can easily get x300 if you hit the x10 or x15 multiplier or a x5 with premium gems.

That slot seems to be overlooked by many as it's monotonous and basic but it pays and that is all I care about.

Had a x100 from free spins after about 20 spins of initial play. Then each time after that it seemed to have drained the balance but not given it a huge go to be fair.

Probably a couple of hundred spins and just that initial bonus for me so far.
