It's heading towards 'Megaways or nothing' with slots design it seems. The big boys have given up trying to be innovative a la MG & Netent, and the small fry are just paying for a successful IP in the form of Megaways. Even Red Tiger games look more slick than Netent's latest offerings.
Was playing some Netent game in some forlorn Battle, it really moved me to my core that I can't even remotely remember its name (but it was them) and I thought Netent had stolen all the blueprints from Betsoft HQ it was that bad
And as for the much-lauded Vikings, I'd rank Warlords light-years ahead of it, it's all hype and licensing bravado, take away the stock generic stills from the series and the lovely Lagertha and you have yourself quite the boring game. Spending what seems like 300 spins seeing two shield scatters get arrowed for the hundreth time for absolutely no reason, in one of the VS Battles I trigger the Free spins to finally get.......a hollowed-out block in the middle of the screen that's supposed to mean something. Got 16x in the end
Good job NE
And MG are fast becoming the
Roy Chubby Brown/ Bernard Manning of modern slots with their comic creations, can't even remember the last good games they made.....Jurassic Park??
All these releases are proving is how low the industry's stooped I'm afraid, won't be touching them with a bargepole
