3DICE - An interesting approach...

I've been playing a few tournaments and generally making a nuisance of myself at 3DICE the last few weeks and I've noticed a few interesting things about their approach.

It seems they're very much aiming to build a 'community' around the player experience, with a couple of interesting little features to the software.

1) The "Chat Room"

A constant connection to other players logged on at the same time, and the *inspired* inclusion of automatic updates when someone wins big... There's nothing worse/better for slot players than seeing that someone just won big on your favourite slot!!! Off you go to give it a try :) More interestingly, if you create a community where people get to know and enjoy talking to each other, it provides another incentive to log on to 3DICE, purely from a social perspective; very clever!

2) "Send screenshot to My 3Dice"

Again, inspired. If you hit a nice win, there is automatic functionality within the software to capture a screenshot and store it within your own little bit of '3DICE'.... The "Winners Screenshots" thread here proves how much people like doing this and the popularity in terms of how much people like seeing them; to build this functionality into the software again suits the players and promotes further gaming from everyone else.

So the great CS and good fun games etc aside - I'm interested in opinions of the approach that 3DICE are taking; the angle of building a true 'player community' whilst benefitting from an underlying profitable business model.

Of course should they decide to licence the 3DICE software third party, this may have an impact on the brand, reputation and 'community' ethic; this is presumably therefore out of the question short term.

The more I think about it though, and with all the nonsense surrounding legislation and online casinos and in an extremely competitive marketplace full of 'me too' marketing - I think this might just pay off.

PERSONALLY i think this enzo guy has really got his head screwed on here..
the thing i like the most is you can deposit $50 play ur $50 win or lose for the rest of the month you have great fun $10 VIP tournies (not sure how many per day but a few!).
CS is out of this world the guys are only a PM away in the chat room.enzo pops in quite alot and interacts with all of us give and takes plenty of banter, answers any questions immediatly if possible.
withdrawls are almost instant which i think is the main reason the depositing players keep coming back .....deposit,win then withdraw very much like a real casino works.

keep up the great work 3DICE u guys rock
durbz ;)

p.s i dont think its a case of will 3dice get a CM award its how many!!

Yeah, I forgot to mention the heavy emphasis on 'free' tournaments too... Something else that drags you in and (hopefully) keeps you there... There's community and discussion of course round those too.

Like I say, forgetting all the great fundamental stuff, they are seemingly positioning themselves very differently from the rest...

EDIT: I just remembered, didn't Microgaming trial a 'group' slots thing a while ago? It might've been at one of the Belle Rock brands... Where you could interact with other players.

EDIT2: I'm going to write to Facebook and ask them if they want me to launch the Facebook Casino!

I could possibly see a scenario in the near future where 3Dice Casino may be by "Invitation Only" in order to keep up with the Growth Curve because of all the great services they offer from their customer service reps., to their unique gaming technology development to the personal attention that Enzo gives...

I've been playing online ever since 1995/96 circa at just about every online casino there was out there and 3Dice without a doubt have managed to capture my attention in a way that the others missed out on...their targeted approach at this market is definitely one of a kind and they are at the top of a league of their own !!!

I know...I know that the above statements almost sound like they are coming from a casino shill after I re-read it but trust me...I am only a happy customer...win or lose...In my opinion this is a service based industry and 3Dice have managed to re-write the book on that...

But surely that would defeat the object of the business model? You need as many active players as possible 'through the doors' to make the money work... I understand issues of services vs scale, but the solution surely isn't to shut up shop and limit your earnings potential?

3DICE seem very technically proficient and, crucially, in complete control of the player experience end to end This will no doubt stand them in good stead to manage growth.

True, I do agree with you Slotster that you do need as many active customers as possible but not to the point where "Service" and the "Personal Touch" experience that they have become famous for could be compromised in any way, shape or fashion as this would in my opinion truly defeat the original business model that got them to the place they are at today...

...but it has to make money, and it has to grow to keep the investors happy!

Like I mentioned, I think 3DICE's 'end to end' control of software, CS, banking and payout %'s stands them in good stead. In fact thinking about it, it's probably only third party payment processors that they don't control -- and that's the same for ANY business.

As far as I'm aware that's completely unique in the online casino business, and a very nice position to be in.

Yes, I agree that they will have to grow in order to feed the investors but I also would emphasize that the growth rate and speed needs to equal the services provided as it does now...anyway Enzo has deep pockets...:D

Agreed !!

Absolutely, kinda wish I could invest in this business model...oh wait, I guess I am an investor...right...LOL !!

Now, if only they can make their Keno better, I spoke to Ellen and she said she will tell designers my problem with their game. Hopefully they will fix it and make it better so I can play there! ;)

What kind of problems are you having with the KENO game Lisa ???

Rob, I hope that 3 Dice will grow for another reason. That is to get a sizable market share so that the current big brothers, ie MG and RTG will sit up and notice. The latter, especially, may feel the pain when players desert them in search of greener pastures. Montana Disputes already fell short of players' expectations. Now we are in the wild west with complaints against RTG operators. If their revenues fall because of the rise of 3 Dice, they may finally get their act together.

Yea chuchu, I would certainly agree with you on those points there and both of the aforementioned gaming platforms could take some management pointers from 3Dice on how to run an efficient, well managed, customer service friendly casino gaming operation !!
