The points are retroactive, but since it's the beginning of the month, it doesnt make too much difference as the points are reset each month.

You may have been better off with 150 & the 50 free spins Depends on what you got.

Despite my 82K spins and counting, my balance has INCREASED by a little over 100 (so far, that is).

I am playing Thunderstruck clones, and am now doing 10K worth at 18p to hit the 10p average target. It is unusual for these slots to persistently pay 100%+ over such a large sample.

I may be clear of MOST players, but sjn is different, he WILL try something later in the month, unless my lead gets truly devastating. I see no reason to stop, so long as I am getting this 100%+ "sweet spot" on these slots

I don't really need the 250, I just need sjn TO NOT WIN AGAIN. The Grand Slam had me occupied last month, I didn't need my concentration split.

I spent north of 1000 on this PC two years ago - it has to pay for itself somehow

MGS casinos were so HUGE, and recourse hungry, that I went for the top spec I could without going into the realms of "gaming supercomputers", such as Alienware.

MGS fixed this problem, and introduced a few others, but the real key is my choice of slot, and of course, AUTOPLAY

ALL Thunderstruck clones can be set to autoplay 9999 spins. I can leave this for around 5 hours, and my PC does all the work

I can vary the stake up to 18p every few sessions, because the competition requires a minimum stake per spin of 10p (or 10c if you have other currency accounts).

Sometimes I play just 9p on Thunderstruck clones, and make it up with far bigger bets on other (slower) games. I do NOT use autoplay for these bigger bets.

Since it started, this has turned into a "grudge match" between myself & sjn, who appears to have an even BETTER PC than me

He now seems to be using it, and has shot up to 4th place.

I am hoping to intimidate him into submission by the weekend, and me & my PC can have a rest for the rest of the month

It really IS about straight volume of spins, rather than amount wagered. This was intended to stop "whales" from dominating the contest, as happens with most other casino contests based on play.

Unfortunately, it has simply allowed a different class of "whale" to dominate, those with a good PC. The investment needed to take part is often partly covered by the prize money, and the prize money itself can then be used to play in the following month's event.

There have been trials of a different format to break the dominance of myself and sjn, they DID do this, but didn't go down too well with other players.

We now have the current format, where I believe you get 1 point per spin, but 2 points for a PAYING spin. There are also 4 positions awarding a "mystery prize", and this mystery prize can make these positions pay out MORE than the straight 250 chips for first place.

If there is enough demand, and good suggestions, I am sure Mark will consider trialling a different format.

It's the rules of the event that influence the play.

32Red have run some high roller events in the past, AND with an updating scoreboard. I have not seen one for a while though, so maybe we should have one for Christmas (What about it, Mark?), on the original format of Rubies Earned making up the scores. This format would suit high rollers, whilst low rollers have the Slotsmeister (well, places 3 to 32, anyway).

(Rubies are the 32Red version of "comp points", awarded for gameplay).

Mark did mention that it was also a matter of funding. This is a FORUM event, rather than a CASINO event, and he was allocated a certain budget. He got a little more, and was able to add the 4 mystery prizes, and did trial having the top prize for accuracy in reaching 5th place, rather than posting an unbeatable score. This was the trial that didn't go down too well, even though it was far more challenging than just spinning away for a high score.

One reason for NOT counting total wagers was that players might not be comfortable having a scoring system that gave away the amount they wagered, but this is not really a problem since MOST casino promotions along these lines DO make it so that the score relates closely to amount wagered. Naturally, this leaves the LOW rollers without a prayer, so they would then gripe.

To please both, Mark would have to get a bigger budget. This might have to come from non-Casinomeister players, who in turn would wonder where their promos went.

It's more of a business thing. Casinomeister is certainly mentioned on their site, along with the awards, however, it would be poor business practice to take promos away from established players who are expecting them to fund a forum contest.

The budget for forum contests is probably related to the volume of deposits & wagering received from forum members. 32Red are EASILY able to work this out by looking at the registrants to the Slotsmeister. If Casinomeister attracted more members (outside the US), there should be more Casinomeister players at 32Red, which in turn would justify a bigger budget for Casinomeister contests.

I'm not sure there are enough players each month for leagues / divisions - but I certainly like the idea of something over the year (I think VWM also suggested this) - I'll have a think what we can do.

A rubies-based leaderboard shouldnt be a problem, although I am not sure I will be able to get our IT guys to do the technology in time for next month. I will see what I can do.

Great question. I was wondering the same thing. But I think they will be on the tourney list till the end of the month when the tourney is over. As the new month starts up they would be removed. At least I think this is how it would go.
