You never know. And since I am "becoming" half English then of course I am hoping and wishing for England to win World Cup. Denmark missed out as close you could get. But they would be more than luck if they would make it further than group stages if they had qualified.

But in regards to England they are in a very tough group. Italy and Uruguay are big favourites in my eyes. Key match will be the first one. Minimum a draw and yes chance is there

Miracles do happen so england have every chance this time around, they would surely reach the finals if FIFA makes a last minute change to penalty shootout rules and makes it whichever team misses most wins it

We'll be lucky to make it out of the group stages, they always get over-hyped by the press only to eventually be knocked out due to a penalty shootout/cheat/red card offence. I remember watching the 2nd leg of Rotherham v PNE in the pub and someone said to me PNE were too gentleman like, same applies to the England team imo.

Unfortunately the 'UEFA Champions League' never existed in 1966, so where this bollocks comes from god only knows. Real Madrid won the European Cup, a simple knockout tournament solely for the domestic league champions of each UEFA nation with no also-rans included.

Regretably I have to agree it would be a waste of a pound. You're probably better off spending your £1 on Dead or Alive and hoping for a full win-line of wilds on your first free-spin. More likely than England winning, and would pay out more too!

Our ONLY hope is that Hodgson has bigger balls than all his predecessors and realises the three simple facts that he must...
a) Play the players who are in their best form NOW, and NOT those based on prior reputation and pay-scale.
b) The best way to win is ATTACK from the start and only ever play defensively when we are 3+ goals up.
c) Practice penalty taking 3 hours a day, EVERY day!
If he does that, we might just have a small chance.
