10-14 Days BACS

Hello all,

I don't wish to go and start sl*gging off the company so won't name it. They seem pretty polite on live chat, although at times a bit confused about things. However, I withdrew £1,350 last week on 1st August and I am told to keep waiting, for the full 10-14 working days to pass. It should be with you by the end of the time specified they said. They are a big well known Bingo/Slots site. I just cannot grasp the 10-14 days to send a payment. I have sent multiple emails, some staff say I cancelled all my withdrawals, which I didn't. Some say do not worry the payment has been approved and processed. If next week you don't receive it, contact us and we will investigate this for you. (The latest email)
I requested an ARN number, they said they have never heard of this.
Would it be best to wait out the 10-14 days and go from there. Perhaps I am worrying too much? It all just seems a little odd. It is the first time I have used BACS. The reason I did was because it was a no deposit bonus of £5 which I turned into the amount won stated above. So the only option was to use BACS as I hadn't deposited on the site with a debit card. The main reason they are giving for length of time is that "BACS is our slowest payment method, please wait the full 10-14 days to reach you bank"
I was under the impression BACS take just three days? 1 to send to my bank, my bank keep for a day and then release to me on the third?

Am I worrying over nothing here?

I'd appreciate any input anyone may have on this.

Thanks for taking a look at my post.

BACS itself can take 2-3 days once initiated. But they might themselves take 7 days to initiate it. If they’re big and reputable, I wouldn’t worry. But set a timeout on the account so you can’t reverse it.

Hi

Thanks for the reply.

The money was removed from being withdraw-able within 24 hours, email received stating the withdrawal had been approved and processed. That part was done swiftly. Just the money hasn't arrived yet, email received on 1st August stating the above.

Perhaps I am being impatient. Perhaps they send BACS in batch on a certain date?

Is it definently a UK BACS payment? or might they be paying you by eg. SEPA? which can take a good few days.

If it's definently BACS it's probably the casino's payout turnaround window like @danofthewibble mentioned above.

I believe it is a standard UK BACS payment. Must be the turnaround window as you mentioned. Makes sense.

As we have a no deposit bonus on bingo for £5 I wanted to post and let you know if this is 32Red please PM your username and I will investigate. It certainly shouldn’t take that long!

Not to worry Mark, the site in question owns a massive UK Newspaper. Thanks for being so swift to respond though incase it was. :)

So, when you say they may take 7 days to initiate it, does this mean to send it to my bank from theirs, as in, they could have approved it, as the emailed stated and removed it from my account having been processed, but then sit on it for 7 days before sending to my bank? I'm just trying to gain some clarification. Sorry If I seem a bit thick here. lol

I'm not sure what to make of this.

Am I being over the top here? Impatient?

Strange. If it were a BACS payment you should have revived it on The 6th. Unless they don't do daily BACS runs. Weird.

Indeed, my thoughts exactly.

I have finally managed to get them to acknowledge my request for an ARN number. Been told to expect it "Shortly"

Fingers crossed.

Im probably best placed to answer this from a banking perspective.

BACS is always three day value ie if submitted before 4pm on a monday it will clear at a similar time on wednesday. Its not a grey area, its exact.

SEPA is same day value before 12am cut off, next day value after that. However you quoted £ not euros, so they would not use this payment method. SEPA also has mandatory use of BIC and IBAN for the creditor (you).

Thanks for the info. I thought just as much.

let me guess the bingo brand amigo bingo. Canadian dollar bingo. Australia bingo .?

I'm not sure whether to say as they haven't done anything wrong, I feel I could be just worrying too much and impatient because I'm skint so feel it would be unfair to out them.

Well it was a freebie so they surely ain’t gonna rush them selfs and as for BACS it’s normally max 3 working days you would have been safer making a £5 deposit then withdrawing it to the card.

Absolutely right mate, I went to do this the next morning but was surprised to see it had disappeared, less than 12 hours after withdrawing. I was panicking, thought they had cancelled it, got straight onto them and they said don't worry we are processing it. Thought to myself get in, they are swift, thought I'd have the money in the next 48-72 hourse, no such luck lol

Don’t worry. If they’re a brand, they’ll see you right. Just make sure they have been given the correct sort code and account number. If you’ve given them incorrect details, that’s a bit different.

And I honestly wouldn’t hold too much in what live chat says in respect of when things were processed. They’re there to move you on ASAP and answer the next easy question ;)

Cheers, and yes I definitely get that vibe, I send a few emails here and there to keep things moving too. I checked my bank details a few times very slowly to make sure I didn't mess up, all is ok :)

**UPDATE**

Email received this morning,

Dear Shaun,

Thanks for contacting *** ****.

We have had a response from the finance team who advised that an ARN transaction number would only be available for CC/visa transactions.

Having checked the payment method it was a BACS withdrawal which can take up to 10 working days to clear.

This would bring the date to Wednesday 14th. If after that date the funds have not credited your account could we kindly ask for a bank statement dating back to the 1st which we can forward to the finance team to investigate.

It is highly probable that the funds will credit your account shortly.

Thanks for contacting us about this matter.

Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact *** **** Support Team.

With Best Regards,

Terry

So, although I have never waited 10-14 days for a payment in my 10 or so years of online gambling, the email sounds pretty good? Would anyone agree?

I shall just have to sit back and wait this one out I think.

I have underline a sentence from this email, can anyone confirm if this is correct?

Thanks again for checking out my post guys.

They should be able to show you loads of info about the transaction, but they don’t have to.

It sounds perfectly normal, to be honest. Slow, but normal. I continue to suspect the transaction was not initiated when live chat told you.

Exactly my thoughts. Thanks for the info, Appreciate it :)

Picking up on what @danofthewibble said their 10 day window probably has other procedure built in & the actual payment probably wasn't made on day 1.

I'm sure they'll pay you out if a big brand.
