Pimped Slot Review
Hip Hop slots have never been as popular as, say, Book of Dead types of games, but that hasn’t stopped Play’n Go from developing a game around the theme. The result of their creativity is Pimped, a slot famed for its free spins bonus, its volatility (especially if using the “one-line” strategy), and its funky soundtrack.
In this Pimped slot review, we’re going to take a close look at the game, how it works, what the bonus spins feature is, and what you can expect when playing it for yourself.

Which Online Casinos Play Pimped Slot?
Overview
Play’n Go is among the most prolific casino developers on the planet, responsible for huge commercial successes like Hugo, Book of Dead and Reactoonz. Their Pimped slot is all about the hip hop lifestyle, and you’ll see the reels set in front of a stunning backdrop, a penthouse suite ready for a long night of partying, with a fitting soundtrack accompanying each and every spin!
Their Pimped slot can be played from as little as $0.01 per spin, and high-rollers can place a max bet of $100. (Not all casinos will offer a max bet this high.)
Pimped is built around a 5-reel, 3-row format, and there are ten paylines in play. However, some players opt not to use all ten paylines. Choosing to play just one payline increases the game’s volatility and greatly increases your stake per line — increasing the max win during the bonus spins feature.
To kick off this Pimped slot review, let’s take a look at how the video slot fairs in terms of payouts and volatility — and what game’s RTP is like.
RTP and Volatility
Surprisingly, Play’n Go’s Pimped slot is rated as 10/10 by the developer for volatility.
This seems strange, as it doesn’t play too badly, and the bonus spins feature seems to trigger fairly frequently. Regardless, the game also offers a decent default RTP of 96.52%, although Play’n Go does offer all of their games inflexible RTP settings.
Thankfully, the best casino sites tend to offer the higher RTP versions of the game, so you don’t need to worry too much about this.
Symbols and Payouts
All of the symbols in the Pimped slot are well-designed and fit the hip-hop theme well, and the low-value symbols are all represented by playing card values; 10, J, Q, K and A.
The premiums are theme-specific and include Golden Rings, Bundles of Cash, Girls, and a (we think) Snoop Dog lookalike. The wild Knuckleduster is the game’s main wild symbol and substitutes for all other symbols. It also appears on all five reels.
You’ll also want to keep an eye out for the Golden Dollar — the dollar sign — as this is the game’s scatter symbol. Landing the Golden Dollar sign is crucial when you play Pimped, as it activates the main bonus round. We’ll talk more about that in just a moment.
Bonuses and Features
No slot game would be complete without a bonus game, and Pimped is no exception.
Below, we look at the main bonus game, how to trigger it during the base game, and how a gamble feature allows you to further increase your winnings!
Free Spins
The main attraction of Pimped is the free spins feature, also known as the bonus spins round. The free spins feature is triggered during the base game by landing three, four or five of the dollar sign scatter symbols anywhere in view. In doing so, you are awarded five win spins; 5 free spins, each of which comes with a guaranteed win.
During the bonus, landing an additional dollar sign symbol awards you with two additional free spins. You can win up to 20 free spins by landing enough scatter symbol icons in view.
So, what is the win spin feature, and how does it work?
Well, it’s as simple as it sounds; every spin is guaranteed to be a winning one, so at the very minimum, you’re guaranteed at least a 3-of-a-kind win. Of course, the aim of each free spin is to hit a full screen of wilds or at a few 5-of-a-kind premium lineups. Still, with enough win spins, even the low-value symbol wins can start to add up — especially if you make it across the five reels.
Big wins are certainly possible during the bonus round, and the wild symbol is also a stacked wild. So actually landing a full screen of the wild symbol is more likely than you might think!
Gamble Feature
Play n go often build gamble features into their slots, and this hip-hop slot is no exception! After each winning spin — or after you’ve completed the free spins bonus — you’ll be given a chance to gamble your wins.
If you want to try and double your prize, you simply need to guess the colour of a face-down playing card, while if you want to try and quadruple your win, you can guess the suit of the playing card too.
Play n Go allows you to gamble up to five times in a row. So if the free spins bonus doesn’t work out too well for you, and the win spins prove disappointing, you do have another chance to walk away with a nice payday!
Our verdict
Pimped has, for a long time, been one of Play’n Go’s most popular slot game releases. While it’s been slightly overshadowed by more recent releases like Reactoonz, Wild Frames and 7 Sins, it continues to receive a significant amount of play-time. We had quite a lot of fun testing out the game while putting this Pimped slot review together.
Play’n Go clearly knew what they were doing when they designed this hip-hop-inspired slot game, and it truly has stood the test of time in the iGaming industry!
Of course, it’s quite strange to start the main bonus round with just five free spins. However, you can re-trigger the feature up to a total of 20 free spins, and if you manage to hit a line of the premiums, you’re in for a decent payout regardless of the feature.
Another thing we like about Pimped is that it’s a simple slot game — but it doesn’t feel like it. Every spin is just as enjoyable as the previous one, and with (theoretical) wins of up to 10,000X your stake up for grabs, there’s a surprisingly good amount of win potential built into the video slot, too.
The musical soundtrack can get a little tiring. That’s probably our only real complaint about the video slot, but other than that, it’s not hard to see why the Pimped slot has and continues to be one of the industry’s best-performing games.
Pimped Slot Review FAQs
Generally speaking, yes, new customers claiming bonus funds can be used on the Pimped slot at reputable casino sites. However, whenever new customers claim bonus offers (especially 1st deposit offers and other deposit bonus offers awarded to new players), you should read the terms and conditions to ensure those game exclusions don’t apply.
To our knowledge, Pimped is rarely excluded as a game for new players using a deposit bonus. Still, it’s always worth checking before claiming a welcome bonus to ensure new customers can indeed play the game with bonus funds.
In order to trigger the main free spins bonus (where you can win up to 20 bonus spins), you’ll need to land three or more of the dollar bills logo anywhere in view. The game Pimped, like other Play’n Go slots, then awards you with five win spins, during which symbols are guaranteed to match up on each spin.
Of course, you’re hoping to hit the premium symbols, but even 5-of-a-kind combos of low-value symbols can end up paying pretty well!
Play’n Go has built this slot around a fairly typical format; you’ll see reels 1 through reels 5, three rows, and paylines, 10.
Wins are formed when you get three matching symbols from left to right. When putting this review together, we were happy to see you can adjust the number of coins; changing the number of coins per line gives you more control over your stake. Writing this review, we were happy to learn that most casino sites allow you to change how many coins and lines are active on each game.
This is not the case with all slots today, with many slots casino sites choosing to “fix” paylines instead.
