Plaza Royal Casino Review

UKGC-licensed operator featuring thousands of games

Casinomeister’s Verdict

Plaza Royal Casino tries to give off the classic Las Vegas Strip experience, both in the way their website looks and based on the collection of games they’ve managed to build. They’re also UKGC-licensed, which means no withdrawal limits and plenty of care for players’ safety, at least responsible-gaming-wise.

Yet, they aren’t without flaws. Plaza Royal’s customer support is nearly impossible to reach, and the total lack of any game filtering options projects an image of an underdeveloped website.

In case these aren’t too much of a pain in the neck for you, Plaza Royal could be worth a closer look (but a cautious one, given their parent company’s history with turning a blind eye to player complaints). If you’ve already done that, share your two cents on our forums.

From the Desk of Max Drayman

Plaza Royal is an Aspire Global property and Aspire Global has been a pet peeve of mine for a good many years. A large group of casinos imposing draconian terms on players and hell-bent on ignoring any and all complaints: all in all a very bad player experience. But the truth is that all of that seems to have disappeared into the sands of time, we haven’t heard much at all from Aspire Global casinos for a few years now. So while I would be VERY reluctant to advise anyone to go to an Aspire Global property (for historical reasons) in fairness all I can reasonably say these days is “proceed with caution.” Aspire Global does have a terrible history but these things can change and that very well may be applicable here.

Pros

  • Pros No withdrawal limits
  • Pros 40+ software providers

Cons

  • Cons Hard to reach customer support
  • Cons No VIP/Loyalty program

Bonuses and Promotions

At Plaza Royal, we’ve spotted only a handful of promotions, but each of them comes with a £10 minimum deposit, which seems like a fair deal. They’ve got a lengthy list of games that are entirely excluded from wagering requirements, so we’d advise anyone chasing casino bonuses to go through the list before setting their mind on any Plaza Royal promotion. Can’t be too careful.

VIP and Loyalty Programs

Despite our really meticulous approach to writing casino reviews, we couldn’t find anything that even remotely resembled a VIP/loyalty program at Plaza Royal casino’s website. They could be running some kind of a loyalty deal for other markets, but from where we’re at, a big, fat zero.

Banking & Payment Methods

Plaza Royal Casino supports 20+ payment methods, and this includes the standard ones such as Visa, Mastercard, and Maestro, but also some less common options like Giropay and Flykk. This may not be the case for you, though, because the list of available payment methods could vary based on your location.

The withdrawal options seem a bit scantier than the deposit ones (we’ve spotted only 15), so if you, let’s say, go for Euteller for your deposits, you’ll likely have to choose something else once you’re ready to cash out.

As for the limits, minimum withdrawals sit at £10, while there’s essentially no maximum imposed. No surprise there, since Plaza Royal Casino holds a UKGC license.

The wait time, though, is a whole different story since Plaza Royal Casino is, let’s say, a bit slow off the mark. If you go for an e-wallet, brace yourself for waiting up to 72 hours to cash out. Cards and bank transfers go through at an even slower pace, and you could be stuck waiting for up to 7 business days.

Responsible Gaming

The responsible gaming section at Plaza Royal could definitely use a makeover to make it more visually appealing (as it is now, it’s blocks of text after blocks of text). Still, we have to give them credit for including all relevant sources and detailed explanations on how to activate each of their responsible gaming features, including setting deposit and loss limits, reality checks, cool-off, and self-exclusion options.

Customer Support at Plaza Royal Casino

customer Support

We’d love to say that we had a spotless experience with Plaza Royal Casino’s customer support. Unfortunately, we couldn’t get hold of them at all. Once we headed over to their ‘Contact us’ section, the only thing that popped up was the option to send them an email paired with a big claim that they’re available 24/7. No live chat option whatsoever, even though they don’t hold back in their terms and conditions section, where they talk on several occasions about their chat support. Did this option vanish into thin air in the meantime, and they forgot to update their terms — we have no clue.

Plaza Royal Casino Experience and Features

Plaza Royal Casino’s website seems to be designed around the classic Las Vegas casino experience. At least judging from their claim about the intention to provide players with a virtual equivalent of the Las Vegas Strip, and their logo, which mimics the iconic ‘Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas’ sign.

Other than the visual aspect, not much to write home about. There’s nothing in particular feature-related and no functional filtering except for the search bar. They don’t seem to have come out with a Plaza Royal Casino app, either, but this didn’t come across as an issue since we managed to run several games from our mobile browser without a hitch.

Brand Games

Game Providers

Plaza Royal Casino features titles from 40+ software providers, and the list includes a decent crowd of really big industry players such as Play’n GO, NetEnt, Pragmatic Play, Big Time Gaming, Evolution Gaming, and the like.

The lineup could be different for you, though, depending on the location you load their website from.

Plaza Royal Casino Slots

Plaza Royal seems to be really serious about the variety of slots they feature. We’ve come across everything from Law of Zeus and Big Bass Boxing Round to Book of Dead, Fire Joker, and Gonzo’s Quest 2.

What they don’t seem to be taking so seriously is the game categorization and filtering options. There’s nothing beyond the Featured, New, Jackpots, and Drops & Wins categories, and the search bar makes sense only if you know exactly what slot you’re looking for.

Slim pickings for themed slots enthusiasts, too, since there’s no category whatsoever that’ll make your quest for finding your preferred theme any easier.

Live Casino

The live casino section at Plaza Royal is filled to the brim with Evolution Gaming’s titles. This means that if live dealer games are your thing, you should be able to revel in fan-favorites such as Dream Catcher, Crazy Time, Auto Roulette, and Casino Hold’em. In case you have a preference for a specific live casino provider, though, don’t hold your horses, because, as with the slots selection, there’s no provider filter here either.

About the Plaza Royal Casino Team and History

Everyone who’s visited the Casinomeister website more than once knows we never cut corners on our casino reviews methodology. One aspect of this unyielding process is looking behind the curtain — to see what the entire team behind each casino is about.

Turns out, Plaza Royal Casino is owned by Aspire Global, a company with an MGA and a UKGC license that owns several other iGaming platforms, including Regent Play, Casiplay, PlayFrank, and Mr.Play Casino.

Their reputation, though, isn’t exactly spotless, since pretty recently they had to allocate £1.4m to social causes due to their non-compliance with anti-money laundering procedures.

Complaints and Track Record

On top of researching each casino’s parent company, we go even deeper and look at their complaints and track record — it’s the usual drill in our casino rating process

Luckily for Plaza Royal, we didn’t receive any complaints about their way of doing business, but since their parent company has a history of ignoring players’ issues, we can’t, with a clean conscience, say there are no reasons for concern.
