I'm going to be taking a Hatha Yoga class this fall for my P.E. requirement, and was wondering if anyone has had any experience with it?

I've always heard that Yoga is great to relieve stress, physical conditioning, etc....so I decided to give it a shot.

Links/URL's would be great as well :)

Thanks

Oh YA!

I took Yoga for 2 yrs while in college, for the exact reasons you are!
I loved it, sometimes I would be so relax by the end of the session I would fall asleep in the cool down time. When I first started the class I remember thinking "oh my I will never be that limber" after a month you will be amazed at what you can do!
Its great for the mind and body...have fun with it!

I tried it but couldnt do the kind I bought and had to return it. I think I got the wrong one. It has you standing on one leg for ages and I cant do that because of my FMS/leg problems.

From what I heard, its a great thing, especially when you get into that normal routine. My cousin swears by it. Good luck Brian!

thats a good idea:thumbsup:, i wonder who gives classes outside of colleges?

The cheapest route would be to visit your local Y :) Non-members pay a few bucks more, but still reasonably priced.

The fall session (Sept 8 til Nov 16) Yoga is only $75 at ours for non-members :)

To break it down, it's 1x a week for 10 weeks, which is $7.50 a session, which is over an hour.......I doubt you'll pay anything near that at a Yoga studio

You can hardly go wrong taking yoga. A good instructor will not have you do anything too strenuous for your fitness level, and the breathing techniques will help your BP and stress levels greatly. I still practice breathing & meditation, skills I partly learnt from doing yoga in my teens. You will increase your awareness of your own body, and increase your flexibility.

There's lots more where that came from............BTW, if you get into kundalini or tantric you are going to need a partner........

FWIW if you get all tied up trying to do an Asana, I hear Bryan swears by crisco......................:D
