Every one plays for entertainment. Right?

I don't think so. We all play with the hope of winning. Right or Wrong?

If you say you play for entertainment, I am sorry but you must be quite stupid.

If you didn't catch that last sentence I will say it again. If you give casino's money that took you hard earned hours to earn and are happy with losing it to watch reels spin, you are just the customer they are looking for!

I haven't had a win at MG casino's for a long, long time.

They must be entertainment.

I am sorry if I sound harsh, but are we really playing for entertainment?

Youtube is very entertaining and FREE!

I just hit $45 on a 9c spin but I know it will be entertaining to give it back.

I would like a few commments on " Are you winning or losing"

If you are winning, where and how?

If you are losing, we are aware of how that happens.

Is it entertaining?

Its because I have a hole in my head.

A great big hole.

I watch losing spin after losing spin and hope it's going to change.

Guess what?

It wont.

Are you like me? Win a little and it's all good?

Win a cashout, that makes you deposit, the casino's love it!

I will keep playing, after all, we are paying them for entertainment!

Not to win!

The customer service is usually rude, after all, they can't find a real job.

What do you expect for 15 deposits. To be treated like you are a paying customer?

Spin, spin and spin again.

One day the spins will come in, and easy street is just around the corner. lol.

Sorry for calling it like I see it.

Good Luck!

See you on Easy Street!

Sorry to Rant, I am far from being hurt moneywise, but its disconcerting to see all take and no give.

I am winning...$660USD since I started playing again in April. I play @ Rushmore. I don't have it broken down by game, but I've won at least some on Craps, Euro Roulette,Baccarat,Pontoon,Face Up 21,BlackJack,and Pick 'em Poker.

As for entertainment, anything you spend money on you don't expect to get that money back. It's not watching the reels spin we pay for, it's the rush of looking for the win, and the time spent doing it.

Well this year im up by quite a bit now. Played at MGS a few select RTGS. The past 3 weeks has been really good. I play to win with the rush of a big hit coming second. I aint even bothered about "play time" if I win big in 5 mins I cash out and am gone. If I loose I keep on hitting em until I either go bankrupt or go up to my own set limit. But overall a good year with money left to burn.

If we would play for pure entertainment purposes, we would open a fun-mode account and use only the free playmoney. Its the thrill that attracts us players, because we know that it IS possible to hit something big, although we are aware of the negative expectation value longterm. Because the casinos are fighting for depositing customers, they have to offer us a wide range of bonus promotions to choose from. Many of them give you the chance to play with very small deposits. I deposited 30 yesterday and - thanks to Mystic Dragon - requested 460 after a long playing session. In my opinion online gambling is definitely entertaining, unless you bust out within 5 minutes (happened too often to all of us)

Cheers Balky

Mostly Ladbrokes - due to their very generous daily, weekly & monthly bonuses.
Have to say though, they are getting tighter with them... :(

Is it entertaining?
I think it's fair to say it's only really entertaining when you win.

The last 2 months I have really struggled at a lot of places (mostly my own fault for not sticking to the plan), and it's been pretty miserable.

If it's not entertaining or profitable any of the time - I'd say it's definitely time to take a break.

I do play for Entertainment - just like I pay money to go bowling :D We spend our hard earned money on a lot of things other people would find silly or " stupid" - I think what ever you enjoy doing is not a waste of money. I would say I'm about even w/ my play over the last 6 months.

Ok my take on it , it,s like this a parallel scenario , you pay a man to fish in his pond for a period of time in hopes of catching a fish or what ever the limit is for that time period

in return he promises to stock the pond with fish [this separates the rouge from the honest casino pond owner ]

the anticipation of catching the fish is the top half of the reward landing the fish is the rest of it

now if you cant afford to fish or entertain your self at the casino put a sticky note on your puter saying slow down

and of course this forum is just like a fishing club were you can trade fish
stories
please enjoy your selves and dont over indulge ty rocky

Entertainment

I honestly think the play for entertainment purposes was invented by the casinos so they don't have to say. "this is for dumbly giving us your money purposes only". The only time I consider gambling entertaining is when I buy a ticket for a show at a B&M and go, or watching the movie Casino.

Playing in fun mode, which I do a lot (mostly when I'm broke and refuse to go over my monthly budget) can be entertaining. The CM forum is entertaining, reading about gambling, the good and the bad is interesting-thus entertaining.

Mostly I think its fun as long as you don't overdo it like Rocky said. However, I'm always trying to "break the bank"! Cool post.

If you say you play for entertainment, I am sorry but you must be quite stupid.

If it is not entertaining then why do we do it?

I would reverse the argument and say anyone who plays slots for profits has to be stupid.
The only time this would not be the case is if you can manage a +ev bonus on slots which are as rare as rocking horse shit.

Of course we harbour the hope of a win but that hope can seem pretty false in the face of a Casinos ability to change the RTP you are going to get at any given time with a click of their fingers but there you go.
Personally I can say playing knowing this is admittedly pretty stupid since I now have all the data I need to know the above to be fact.

So I guess in the end you are right, meet stupid. :)

Entertainment player here

While I admit that I don't play online, and not because of some conspiracy theory regarding online casinos, at-least for the software's that are audited there is no reason for distrust. But I do play at land based casinos... most of which offer 0% bonus.

I consider it entertainment and anything I spend (not lose), goes under that category in my monthly expenses.

If I win, that is nice, I mean, that is why I go in the first place. But I don't COUNT on it. I know the odds are against me, why would I consider it anything other than entertainment? I know I'm not going to make money, so if it isn't business and it isn't entertainment I don't know what I should call it.

For me, a night out in the casino isn't an outing to make money, but an alternative to paying to watch a fight, going out clubbing, do a tour, or anything else. I also do go out and do the aforementioned activities, but I like to spice it up with going to a casino every now and then. I mostly play Roulette and Blackjack.

I think players like myself aren't stupid, we are just normal people looking for an outlet to have some fun. I know there are professional players that make a living gambling (whether on casino or sports). But that doesn't make them better than me. Just different. Personally I would hate to have to exert the control and find it boring to grind out a wagering requirement or find different lines to place sports bets at different places ensuring me a win. If I gamble on a sport, I just want to place the bet on the side I think has better chances, if I play blackjack, I don't want to be stressed counting cards and bustin' my brains... I have neither the time, nor the inclination to do so.

Saying I'm stupid for liking the entertainment offered at casinos, is akin to saying that doing a sport for fun, rather than professionally is stupid. I don't think so, I just think they are different, with neither being superior.

Kind Regards,
Nicolas Johnson

I think at one time we all started to play online casinos for the fun. Let's face it I don't have to hire a babysitter, leave my house and feel guilty for not being with my kids. Then you hit your first jackpot, or big win and the rush sets in. I at that point will withdraw and have flushed leave a little in to play. I think the rush keeps us all playing. Lets face it. I enjoy looking at the screenshots just to get the rush. Yes I'm happy my fellow players won, but in the back of my head I'm saying wow I want that or cool 5 scatters. It's the rush it's like a drug I know I enjoy it. The hard part is learning to control it. Thru time you learn from your mistakes from your losses and from your wins. The best way for me is I play at casinos I know will flush acct. I leave a little in so I can still play while I wait for monies to go thru and I stick with my budget. Is it hard sometimes only playing for 10 min and busting out. Yes! But that's when I look at screenshots, play in fun mode or kill time playing free tournaments.

Hiya: I play to Win. I do not care at all about the RNG being used, the graphics, or most anything else. Yea yea yea, "You Cant Win at a Negative Exception Game".

It is entertainment when you Win, and is even entertainment if you Lose, "as long as you lost within your own set betting limits". Bet a 3 step progression, Lose those 3 bets, and lose $8, and go on to lose 9 more in a row, for $9 more lost.= Lost 12 bets in a row, and only lost $17. Now thats entertaining...

I have played at Online and Real Casino's. I have played at places that had a .10 Min bet, and at the Wynn high limit room with a $100 Min Bet. It does not matter if you take $40 off the table, or $4000 off the table, It is entertaining because you are pitting your Guessing Skill against the Odd's. What can be more fun than that?

Exactly what is playing to Win? It means, "within the rules of the game, ect" You will employ a method that you think gives you the best chance to walk away with more money than you came in with.

What is a method of doing this? BJ. There are many BJ tables next to Roulette tables. A Few of these allow Mid Deck entry. You Play Roulette, while at the same time you are watching/counting, the cards at the BJ Table. Even if you Can't count, if all the cards on the table are small ones, and the next hand, most are small ones, and No Aces came out, JUMP IN.

After a couple of hands, go back to Roulette. This works because, EVERYONE KNOWS, that a Card Counter would NEVER be caught dead at a Roulette Table................

The only conspiracy theory I am aware of is the one that the online operators do not change the RTP of their slots and that there is no reason for distrust.
There are Thousands of reasons for distrust on this very forum or have you just arrived in your space ship from darkside of the planet Fairytale?

Audits, especially in house, have nothing to do with it as you well know.

Let's see if I can answer this honestly. I love to play slots they are fun. I don't expect to win all the time, but the anticipation of winning is fantastic. I do not spend my whole paycheck on a casino that is a no-no for me. Because I have to pay bills and other things. I play enough money to make it last if it doesn't then tough luck on me.

I do not play for the sole purpose of making money to pay anything, that just not the right thing to do. If you have extra gambling money then by all means go for it. When you do play however do not expect a big return on your "investment". I have been to land based casinos where people have played their rent or entire paychecks in hopes to make a bigger investment on their play. I know I've done it quit a few times. But never again because I have to get up and go to work. Being broke is no fun trust me.

You do not know if your going to win or lose. So when we play at these casinos do we expect to win? Yup. But if we lose what happens. Do we make more deposits in hopes to win the big or do we call it a day. Can you say to yourself I didn't win this time I think I'll call it quits. Or do we just keep going then all of your money is spent? Then we get all upset because we did not win and bitch about it.

I will tell you this I do not play at a casino to make a profit. I play entirely for the enjoyment of it. Because I really don't have any money like that to be throwing away.
