It could be down to licensing deals for LOTR that don't apply to other, even new, games.

From a rather pedantic set of rules and regulations I got from an affiliate account regarding how LOTR can be promoted, it looks like the licensing for this game has VERY exacting conditions. One I DID see was that the game was only licensed to be offered where "online gambling is legal", which it is NOT in Israel, even though many casinos feel that they don't have to abide by Israeli law since they are based offshore. They DO however, have to abide by the licensing agreement between MGS and the owners of the LOTR franchise.

Other pedantic terms go into great detail, such as it must be called "The Lord of the Rings" in any advertising and NOT simply "Lord of the Rings". The letters must be as I have shown, with the specified ones in capitals. The FIRST mention of the name must also have the "TM" attached. Affiliates also cannot mention certain characters from the film, let alone use ANY of the actor's real names. Lastly, they must NOT mention that the film (and slot) are based on any books, even though we know they are, and who wrote them (which we are not allowed to mention).

With this background, it is likely that ALL slots in the LOTR series will be subject to such restrictions, and unavailable to countries not obviously classed as "restricted" in terms of other games. Israeli players use the general MGS software, rather than the US variant, yet STILL find such games are blocked, and this is likely to continue to be the case, especially where there are licensing agreements with film studios, or other media producers.

So much for America being the land of the free. Seem they going backwards over there not forwards.

The US has not been "the land of the free" for a long while. I remember the outrage of UK citizens being "clappen in irons" at the airport before being summarily deported back to the UK 8 hours later. Their crimes? sometimes nothing more than failure to pay a parking ticket on a previous visit - hardly international terrorism:rolleyes:
This is part of the reason why we now have to apply for a "waiver" BEFORE boarding the flight, rather when coming in to land (I remember this on my 2006 Vegas trip - the forms came out right near the end of the flight). I got through to Vegas OK, unfortunately my LUGGAGE was detained for an extra few hours at one of the two change over points:rolleyes:

Long before the migration of the US players to the new version of the US MG, we in the US were first blocked from all progressives, followed immediately by all new games blocked, I guess it is hand in hand with the UIGEA from 2006.

So what we have is what we get and I seriously doubt that it will change unless the laws that ruined things for players and casinos are made in the players and casinos favor.

But if one likes any form of MG, it's better than a poke in the eye.
