I'm going for a holiday in a couple of months and since gambling is basically nonexistent in Thailand. I was wondering which casinos would allow me to play while I'm overseas?

Gaming in Thailand

Hi Balthazer

Yes you are correct .... gaming is strictly forbidden in Thailand ... My Family are Thai and we visit often ...

Its even ilegal and arrestable to play cards with freinds in your own home... although many Thai people do it :)

the Govenment Block gaming web sites .... and be carefull as the Government monitor internet activity so you can get a knock on your hotel door

BUT.... i have used gaming web sites in thailand via a UK VPN ( you can get VPNs in most countries doesnt have to be UK ....VPN means virtual private network for those that dont know ) when connected to a UK VPN the thai governemnt cant see the gaming IP address you are connected to .... and the Gaming web site only see that you are in the UK which means that they wont block you either .... it also has allowed me to do the national lottery abroad and watch BBC iplayer, which is restricted to UK viewers only

although this is what i have done ... please do so at your own risk and dont do any gaming in public ( people will report you for a reward ) best in a hotel room and also dont tell anyone what you are doing ... remember its ILEGAL and you can get arested and inprisioned SERIOUSLY

hope this helps
all the best

Thailand

Sorry MrMark ... i adressed you as Balthazer sorry to you both ..... I should have gone to specsavers :)

Enjoy your trip ... as a first timer ... i would recommend that you go to the rose garden show .... its just south of bangkok and a 3 hour show with all the experience of thai culture ...

Patpong market at night is fun ( and so are the bars :) ) ..

keep safe though ... your money can vanish faster than playing at a rogue casino :)

all the best ...

Beautiful but funny country - gambling is VERY illegal, but (underage) girls/boys....no problem, as long as it brings in the money...

I played on fun mode on a few casinos last time I was there. Not blocked or anything. Couldnt agree more beautiful country except theres allot of poverty. Last time I was there I saved up all my small change coins, must have had about thirty-fourty of the heaveyweights at the end of my trip and donated them to a guy who was missing a leg.

I went to patapong market the last time I was there. Also the floating market. I didnt like it as much becuase I kept thinking I was going to fall in the murkey water. I also came back with a little bit more weight on me, the foods so nice, so much variety, and everythings so cheap.

Hope you're not speaking from experience :eek2:

My advice.....don't gamble whilst your away.

Enjoy the time away. See the country and lap up the culture.

Don't risk prison etc just for a few slot spins.

Been on Koh Chang for an extended stay and in that time I used my notebook only for working. I just would not feel comfortable to play with a feeling of doing something secretly. Besides its not bad to spend a few weeks without playing.
