When you have to use a VPN, what country do you use?

Due to circumstance in my country I have to use VPN for some casinos.
Which countries do you use to conenct to?
Which countries have the most relaxed regulations regarding online gaming?
Which countries have access to the most game providers?

Ones I've used are Italy, Brazil, Sweden, Canada, Belgium and I wish I had been tracking which providers are available on each one because I never know where to use.

And yes I make sure to check with the casino if VPN is OK first :)
Thank you!

Being in Gibraltar, my IP often switches to Spain which causes problems with online gaming sites that aren’t regulated in Spain. I find Ireland works well given they are not yet regulated for Casino and English speaking.

I don't mean to sound pedantic, and this is also a test of my understanding, but are we not talking about Virtual Location?

While some casinos may advertise as 'VPN Friendly', my understanding is that they may still block certain locations and if it comes to submitting any paperwork, your location should match.

p.s. I have played at a crypto casino using a VPN with Finland as my location, but have always assumed that I would need to pay a Fin like @ternur a handlers fee (joke) if document requests arose.

no they dont block, I got verified 2-3 casinos they know I use VPN for my safety 😂, you can pay as you wish as longes is money, I use Skrill no fee since I am verified or visa card

The casino I have used blocks if I don't change my virtual location, hence, why I played from my second home in Finland ;)

If I use a VPN without changing my virtual location, I get blocked.
not sure what casino you play, but all casinos i play they never ask if I use VPN or not, they happy to take my money I am happy to take their money happy days

There are some offshore casinos that won’t allow you to access their sites from the UK without a VPN (BC Game, Vave, Bitstars), and others that will allow you access but most slots are not available to play without a VPN (Betfury, Wild).

I’ve had one withdrawal held due to the casino detecting multiple accounts from the same IP, but after I explained that I use a VPN for safety and security, they processed the withdrawal without further issue.

I’ve never had a casino ask me if I am using a VPN though.

I would NEVER EVER use a VPN to register at ANY casino since this violates most casinos' T&Cs and you'll find yourself SOL with any possible payouts.

As for checking out sites for information, I use NordVPN and usually choose Iceland, Ireland or Canada.

And this is what is nuts - you have every website on the planet trying to redirect you to another geo platform either because they think they are doing you a favour, or because someone is telling them to do it. And most people are using VPNs like NordVPN because they have been sold on keeping their IP secret for security reasons. And I don't blame them.

And when I am questioned why I don't block content from different countries, I point out this fact. It is ludicrous on what is expected from webmasters now. It's technology for technology's sake .

I thing data from gamblers is more important now to Casinos than money they spend, not sure what they do with it

Being a fairly late VPN adopter myself, it goes without saying that it adds a layer of protection, far surpassing non-VPN usage.

Oh how I laugh as ExpressVPN bamboozles hapless sites into believing I'm situated in Yokohama!

Yet problems will inevitably occur down the line, with any company whose registered details (UK) don't match the user professing to be from a non-UK location, as is correct.

Much like when attempting to circumvent Prime Video Australia by choosing Woolloomoolloo (a real place apparently) as my location, so as to enjoy the likes of Neighbours or Skippy Returns 5. But alas, my UK address thwarted all that, and it was game over.

So whilst offshore VPN casino play is less stringently adhered to, the very fact that the casino most likely already knows one's flouting the rules, coupled with surely needing to give one's actual address and location upon registration, ensures in a win-win for the casino.

Casinos can and will withhold payments at a moment's notice, VPN or not. You can can only skate hurriedly across thin ice for so long

Finland and Norway. Most providers are available when connected to either of these countries.
In Finland we have almost no restrictions. The National license will come in a couple of years and the restrictions may increase in the future.

IGT is country-blocked, but the reason behind that block is co-operation with our national gambling company
