Whatever happened to Playtech

I haven't seen Playtech slots around much and was curious to know if they are still going.

Big fan of their marvel slots ie Iron Man and also Gladiator but I heard they lost the licensing for Marvel so all those Marvel ones went. Graphics and gameplay wise I thought their slots were very innovative and fun to play. Those linked Marvel jackpots were huge.

The main problem with Playtech was that the casino's that had them always seemed to be a bit dodgy and I could never find their slots on any decent casino's.

Loved the marvel games as well, Many of the marvel games are still about but they were re skinned into age of gods series, never seemed to play as good since the re skins, one I never found the reskin of was the Spider-Man one so guessing the never redid that.

I loved them so much I actually made many of them into playable sims on my Reelsoffun site but that’s gone now but still got them somewhere.

I agree that they did seem to be really good back then, no clue what happened at Playtech but there new slots are terrible.

Interestingly the universe entertainment limited casinos (Europa, Titanbet, Casino Tropez) shur down a few months ago. These casinos were owned by playtech behind the scenes iirc.

I think a lot of their newer games top out at 94ish RTP which is a bit crap. Last time I played one of their games was on a Rare stone slot which had a top win of 888x, as it was perfect for a capped offer I was playing.

I use to play playtech games at Mansion.com and Casino.com. The issue I found was that playtech seemed happy to partner with poor casino's. I won a Marvel jackpoint of around $6k and was never paid due to Casino.com mucking me around with KYC requirements. This was in 2012ish.. back when I didn't have grey hair. Apparently it was the norm with these casino's to want notorised copies of passports etc sent to some dodgy PO Box in Malta. Sent the docs three times as they never received it and then gave up.

My issue with Playtake back in the day was the amount of shitty casinos using their software, 96-hour pending periods, rogue jackpot behaviour etc.

The exception being the big bookies who were contracted to offer the Playtake menu as their basic casino game and slot offering which was the mainstay of their business, fewer and bigger operators with big revenues.

As for the Marvel games, these were all cloned with alternative graphics like Fantastic 4 became Furious 4 and others were cloned via the Age of the Gods series.
