What your computer does when your away

Me too ksech and today I put IE out of my life completely (well out of my sight anyway) Totally took away all it's power and once again turned it over to firefox. And for a few hours it has been wonderful. fast, smart and hasn't told me once it's 'quit working no solution'. If only it would last but I know it wont and one thing for sure, when I go to bed, it goes to bed. No parties tonight. :)

Mine is always on watching

Mine decided a few weeks ago, to see if it could burn my house down:(
Had a small power surge which blew my power supply, which in turn fried my motherboard and processor and my secondary harddrive (which I used for storage). Not to mention frying the lamp I had plugged into the same surge protector and the surger protector itself. So, I took my sons' tower (he has a new laptop) and took the remaining "working" parts (main harddrive, RAM, and vid card) and put them into his comp.

If it weren't for the fact I've gone green and depend on my computer to pay all my bills, I would of said to hell with it.

Years back thank God for Homeowners Insurance.
My tree in the back yard got struck by lightning and the lightning did something to my computer & I got a new one after that.
Two weeks ago I got the blue screen from hell on my screen so I had to have a new one built.
I feel your pain Ksech.
Good Luck if you get a new one.
Looked something like this

Tom, that looks like it may have been a bad vid card.

I had that computer for 8 years, my son built it for me for a birthday present. Unfortunately, my motherboard and processor are way out of date, so anything that wasn't fried is no good if I go to replace everything. I'm looking at about $500 to rebuild with the specs I want. Maybe Santa will be good to me this year! LOL

It all boils down to the surge protector failing? I wonder if that is what mine did 2 years ago. My power supply held but my mother board showed some distress LOL
Give a little nod to the casino gods and go get yourself a little extra money. That's what I did, it could work for you too.
