What Next???

Eek that's odd. When did you last log in and play there and you haven't self-excluded at any other EM lately either?

I know John is still answering support requests tonight as I just spoke with him, drop them a e-mail if the live chat isn't working.

I think it has to do something to do with you being an affiliate. If I remember correctly I got a similar message a while back.

Logged in to Next Casino tonight - but when I tried to open a game up to play, I got the strange message below...

No Live Chat available either - what's going on at Next???

Right - apparently Cup-o-cocoa o have been getting their arses kicked by the Dutch govt. and affiliates will no longer be allowed to be paid commission into player accounts for money laundering reasons. So Pulver may have a point, although I can't see why that would shut your player a/c down.

What Nicola said I'm frankly incredulous at - since when have EM ever cross-referenced excluded accounts until it's time to pay up, and not before?

EMSEB is still alive and well and always will be as long as they can get away with it, so it cannot be for that reason.

I think this may be the right explanation.

Two Dutch MPs in particular have been reportedly very persistent over the past year or more in drawing the attention of the Dutch parliament to the activities of Curacao in the online gambling and other spheres, alleging questionable practices, associations and corruption.

I haven't yet picked up anything concrete such as actions against affiliates, but its plausible that this could be a consequence of growing pressure on the local government.

There is definite evidence; recently 2 new affiliate accounts I opened and with both of whom I chatted to on Skype, mentioned this when discussing payment options. The gist of it was that if the primary license is held in Cup-o-cocoa there are new rules from 1st. March forbidding payment of commission into player accounts.
Maybe the banana republic free-for-all is changing! :eek2:

Doing some Googling regarding gambling related stuff in Curaçao makes interesting reading. You wouldn't want to be too critical about it unless you fancy a bullet in your head

A certain right wing Dutch politician calls the islands "Piña Colada Mafia" and is no fan of all the ongoing corruption on the islands.

The whole things a farce. As for a bullet in the head, that's plainly just silly.
Obviously you just avoid such places with said licence. And was that wilders you are referring to by any chance?..

You wouldnt want to be too critical if you have the powers to tighten gambling legislation. You don't have to be concerned being critical on this forum.

And yes it is Wilders. He is no fan of how things are being run in the Netherland Antilles.

Excuse me? Could you explain this a little more in depth please.
Apologies for me not understanding. Thanks

A Google search throws up articles where a politician wanted to tighten gambling legislation in Curacao. He was murdered. Another politician was jailed for taking bribes off gambling organisations. That particular industry is better not be messed about with if you value your life. Can link to the articles but they are in Dutch.

Granted, but that level wouldn't affect the playing public surerly?..
As serious and abhorrent as it is, are people just not better avoiding that side of online gambling??.no way I'd play with a curacao site anyway.
That's interesting reading though mate, and I'll have a look through that, must be said though wilders will be great for holland. I have family in Dordrecht, they are hard working middle class folk, they And many others seem to support him.
My opinion doesn't count, as I'm not Dutch. But hearing from those who are, seems he's the man to take over.

I can't see a player being murdered but it is not advisable to play at a casino with only a Curacao license because there is no protection from Curacao in case of problems with the casino.

As to Wilders, he has some good ideas but some of them are a little extreme. He will have problems forming a Government because no other party says they want to work with him. Holland always had coalition Governments because no party ever had a majority.

I have NEVER even asked for one of my casino accounts to be closed, let alone self-exclude. :eek2: I would never do that.

Anyway, got an e-mail back from them the next day just saying it was a "mistake" and they resorted normal access to my account.
No explanation as to what exactly happened.
And yes, I do get my affy pay direct into the casino (sort-off - it actually goes into a separate account from where I can transfer it into the casino).

KK
