What gigs and concerts have you been to?

Just come across some of my old tickets for gigs I attended in the 90's - including my ticket to see Oasis, number 22 no less. As had access to the executive restaurant in the Kippax Stand at Maine Road.

Yes I rubbed shoulders with the voice of 32Red aka Patsy Kensit :D

Can't believe Duran Duran, who's in top of my wishlist, will have a concert in Croatia this summer! :cheerleader:
Also Röyksopp is there in June!

The only issue here - not too many people are interested in those two

Ok so 2024 was a bit of a wash out for me personally, I only managed to go to one solitary gig, which was Editors in March. I had to pull out last minute from seeing Cardinal Black in November sadly :-(

However, I have bought yesterday two tickets to see my favourite guitarist Kalle Wallner from RPWL as he tours the UK for a week in May, with several other Prog musicians.

I am seeing him in Southampton and London. Then July 18th for a Prog Festival in Abingdon, which will be headlined by the superb Sylvan!

Below is footage I took of Kalle Wallner playing out the last minute of Hole in the Sky, which I recorded in Oundle in April 2023.

This was the night I chatted with him afterwards and was star struck and almost lost for words lol

We're seeing Greg Davies this year. Is he on your list?

He was one of the shows I looked at but not on the list as it was sold out. Just checked it again and there are now maybe 3-4 resale tickets up for 61 quid so i might nab one of those, thanks for bringing it up as I probably wouldn't have checked again.

I was part of Foo Fighters CP team when they played Wembley (about 20 years ago) which was a great experience, followed by a last minute tasking looking after Jon Bon Jovi

On paper you would think the bon Jovi job would have been nice and easy but middle aged women can be feral - spent most of the concert dodging incoming bras and thongs being launched with extreme force

That sounds an awesome experience Andy! ( not the dodgy thongs and bras bit! 😅 )
The foo foghters one was really good - it was one of my first jobs on the CP circuit.

I remember it vividly as I was given a few of the set lists/guitar picks etc but just handed them out to members of the public at the end of the concert. I got bollocked by the team leader on the job as I didn't realise that you could flog them for quite a bit of money as people like to collect them hahahaha

I cannot believe they played a 'secret gig' in Frome, just down the road from me a few years back, prior to headlining Glastonbury.

They are not one of my bands as it were that I am into, but like when I saw Guns and Roses, would love to see them live.

My biggest claim to fame as it were, was when coming back from lunch, only to see Daddy G from Massive Attack sat at my desk! True Story!!!

I worked for Vital Distribution in Bristol in the mid to late 90's and we were the largest independent record distribution company in the UK. We shipped out all the Oasis albums for one.

Grant ( Daddy G ) grew up and was best friends with my boss at the time. Hence he had popped in while I was at lunch :D

Yes I was star struck! LOL
