Virgin Casino bonuses. A bit of a joke?

I hadent played at virgin casino in quite a while, as i didnt really like it very much. Every week i receive promotion offers from them of one form or another tempting me to come back. Finally i succumbed last night, with an offer of `We miss you. Deposit ten pounds receive ten pounds bonus`
So i did. i actually deposited 20. The casino played terrible. It lasted literally minutes and the next day when i went to check to see if the bonus had been credited it hadent, so i contacted CS. they told me the reason i hadent received their crappy 10 pds bonus was because i hadent wagered my INITIAL deposit 20 times first  The fact that i doubt if i made it 3 % of the way into the wagering requirement before busting means that now no bonus is forthcoming. How bad is that? having to wager your DEPOSIT 20 frickin time before you can receive a promotional bonus.

If your a bonus player DONT get duped into Virgin casinos `promotional emails` they are pretty much a scam and my advice would be to steer clear of this casino at all costs!

I totally disagree. If you read the T&C then you would realise it is obvious that you only get the bonus after wagering.

I actually prefer this, long term. Playing relatively high stake VP, sometimes I go down say 300, but recently I hit a pat 4oak for a 500 payoff near the end, making a big fat profit. If I had busted out I would never have got that!
You are right tho, it depends on ur method of play. Probably not good for slots, coz having to wager 35x bonus FIRST could leave you 50% of money wagered down, or worse.

Beware BJ bonuses tho, it works out as 70x bonus or something :P also their monthly bonus works out at 70x playthru, which can still be beaten into a profit using texas bonus, but takes ages and i dont think is really worth it!

not really much of a bonus then is it tho? and the casino gets away how many times out of ten with never having to pay out a bonus. Well some may prefer this but i dont, i class it as a sneaky way of trying to make cash cows out of their customers. But never mind, one learns from ones mistakes and Virgin has been assigned to the oblivion bin :)

With a post-wager bonus you can deposit more to clear the WR you have left. Still doesn't make it very good for slot players, but for VP or holdem bonus players it makes sense.

I can see both sides of this coin. Firstly I agree with Avatar73 that I perefr the pre-wager way of collecting a bonus - firstly it doesnt stop you cashing out at any point if you win, and secondly it prevents bonus fraud.

However, I agree with Audiman that the promo should clearly state up front that you get the bonus after a certain amount of wagering id complete. I'm surprised Virgin don't - to me it makes good business sense to avoid raising expectations which are then going to get lowered, and in a manner which will p*ss people off. A good "incentive" will deliver more than it promises, not less.

Here's my favorite bonus.

  1. Deposit $50
  2. Forget about it
  3. Next week deposit $50 more
  4. Play with $100!!!

The T&C are awesome too!

  • Place bet, win, get paid.
  • Place bet, lose, don't get paid.

I've got an even better one:
1. Receive email bonus offer from casino you haven't logged in to in a while, then find out that you had 50 in your account that you had totally forgotten about.
2. ???
3. Profit!

Happened to me this week :what:

The entire virgin online gambling presence (well at least the parts I use regularly, casino and poker) is excellent. You really would be hard pushed to find a better place online to gamble. Intercasino is about the only other one I would put in this category. Their bonuses are fair. Read the T&C before you play.

SP.

P.S. The only thing that sucks is that they have promised us elvis month after month and he still isnt here!

Never thought I'd say this in regards to online gaming but after reading this B.S.: Thank GOD I'm AMERICAN! (sung to the tune Thank God I'm a Country Boy by John Dnever) :D

I'm not sure which is worse, not receiving the bonus at all or having to go through all of this to get one - you be the judge:

I quite like these WagerWorks bonuses.
It's a shame they are post-wager at most places, but at least you know exactly where you stand and can instantly check how much WR you have left to go at the click of your mouse. You also know you can withdraw your bonus as soon as you get it, and being post wager at least it keeps the out & out bonus abusers at bay!

I just wish they would allow roulette play again, like they used to about a year ago.. :(

I too like the Wagerworks bonuses... Only because I never know when or how I've qualified for one - apart from logging in sometimes and seeing some random amount dropped into my account...

I agree with the others that have said it's nice to instantly be able to withdraw etc... if you want with the money.

Audiman - I do agree about those dreadful Virgin emails though - the "we've missed you" one even has a box of tissues at the top of the email... See, if a casino REALLY missed me, they'd chuck a nice no strings amount in up front to tempt me back :D

That said, I like Virgin casino... but then I like all the Wagerworks lot - by far my favourite software at the minute...

canadians can't play at virgin either. can you save up your comps and use them to go into space?

Ditto for us from Hong Kong. We cant play.

Meanwhile, many casinos will still credit you with the bonus if you bust out before reaching the WRs. Ya just have to contact the casino and they will credit you with the bonus and the WRs need to be completed afterwards. Otherwise what's all this about missing the customer and enticing him to return with a juicyyyyy bonus.

Post wagering requirements are just a sneaky way of getting you to give them your money without the casino having to give out anything in return unless your lucky enough to complete said wagering requirements first, which lets face it, many people are not going to do. I play at other wagerworks casinos that do not have this stupidly ridiculous rule, although not often as i find wagerwork software very basic and limited.
